    Tf2 Donator Update!

    virr

    In this month's

news post we mentioned we were taking a look at donator commands, and it's finally time to show off what we've been working on! To give you the rundown, here's what has happened:

The following features have been added:

    Rainbow outlines

    Voice modifiers and DSP

    Spawn in balls

    Disguise as props - Back!

    Projectile particles

The following features have been removed:

    Medic Shield

We have decided to keep NoFall for now due to it being a bit more accessible compared to medic shield, but we're open to discussion on what the future holds for it. Let us know what you think below!

As always, please report and bugs and let us know your thoughts in this thread. Also, make sure to refresh yourself on the donator rules, as we've also added some more things to keep in mind while gaming.

    Check it out for yourself!

Neato. Are these available on all servers? Cause if I can't disguise as a barrel on DR I'm gonna be miffed.

I have added them to all servers, but please don't use the disguises to get any advantages of course.

Understood. If it feels like an advantage then I'll just stick to being a demon voiced Engineer who's cosplaying as a fat Mario and glowing in various colors.

These are pretty great additions to the servers and I gotta say I'm really liking the voice changers and rainbow outlines. Personally as for NoFall I don't care much for it in particular. I say keep it for the jumpers but keep out of combat. If your opponent has to deal with fall damage why shouldn't you?

I get the idea of keeping things fair and not making the non-donators left out/disadvantaged but i strongly disagree with this.

Sure fall damage can be a crucial part of combat from time to time, but nofall has been the only command that has always been allowed to be used for advantage, and its nothing compared to what some people expect to be able to do when they donate. The point is though, I'd like to think there is a balance for whether making a donation and getting access to cerrain commands makes you overpowered to the point where you're just pure annoyance or it's completely useless and is completely bound to a huge set of rules that come with it, and I personally think nofall does a great job keeping that balance.

Simple, but effective. Nothing someone will get extraordinarily mad at, nor something awfully boring and unnecessary.

I would also support the idea of adding a few more very slight combat enhances to donators (1 health regen etc.) but I can understand if people disagree with that or even want me to be burried alive just for the thought

So why is disguise currently disabled?

btw in some death run maps it works

It's disabled because we're having trouble with blocking the command to only donators.

Not gunna lie I had no fall for 3 years every time I joined the server (literally a bind now for me) and no one complains about me using it. Rarely people ask if it's ok for me to use since they don't care that much really.
