I apologize in advance to any higher ups if I'm out of line making this thread

So, what am I talking about? Why, none other than Conscientious Objectors.

I've noticed there's no written rule about Objectors containing inappropriate content, much like our Spray rule, and this is a problem.

Hell, I don't even know if such a rule exists, but it sure needs to. Nothing like having a moving porn spray whacking you in the back of the head on a map,

.

But having a rule in place for such a thing isn't the only reason I've made this thread. The real issue is having Staff members enforce a rule regarding nudity/derogatory content in sprays whilst having an Objector equipped with something equally as bad or even worse.

Lemme run a scenario by you. A player joins and uses his spray. Perhaps it's a bit too revealing and it breaks our rules. A Staff member warns him about it and removes the spray. A while passes and that same player notices that the Staff member's currently equipped Objector contains the same damn thing.

Why, that'd be embarrassing, wouldn't it? Hypocrisy among our Staff members, why never!

Well, it happens quite a bit... More often than you'd want it to.

"But Bone" you may be saying "It's just a little bit of nudity/lewd content. Don't be such a baby!"

That's not the point. It's the principle of it. Even if there's no rule on it currently, Staff shouldn't be trying to circumvent the spray rule by putting it on a sign instead. We're supposed to be enforcing rules, not showing people how they can get around them.

TL;DR: There needs to be a rule in place on Objector content/Staff shouldn't use Objectors to display imagery that wouldn't be allowed as a spray

Tagging ALL TF2 staff members whether they like it or not for a potential discussion: @Basquiat @Vexx @mrnutty12 @Sesh @Vector @BonfireCentipede @Vacindak @Vargas @Elcark @ThunderLimes @YeEternalTuna @Kypari @Floppy @Parasect @LemonVolt @TheSupremePatriot @Ms.Spooks @Moosty @sick41057 @NitNat @Natsu @Blizzard @Hibiki @Spoopy @Amylicious @Thunder @Frusty

Yeah we need a detailed rule about this stuff ESPECIALLY about the cropped butts n stuff cus I see way to many staff loop hole this but I never dared to question it but now I fully understand that it's not okay. (Btw I'm on my phone so I'm not going to give a gigantic paragraph of a response on this but I hope you get the idea).

Fun fact, there is a thread up on admin forums right now rewriting the rule regarding sprays. We could extend it to include objectors and stuff too if you guys want.

That would be very appreciated

Like @ThunderLimes stated, as far as I've been aware or concerned the ruling on sprays extends to ANY imagery on the servers. Sprays, objectors, flairs, and anything else possible would all fall under the same ruling, just like any rules about chat (such as politics) apply to both typed chat and voice.

There is a rule on objectors.

Although it might just be my OCD, I'd prefer if it was a written rule. I hate the old "An Admin once said this was against the rules, I think"

A rule being just hearsay that only a group of people might of heard or were present upon it's creation just bugs me.

The consensus has been that the sprays rule would apply to anything that allows a user to apply a custom image to something; this would include normal sprays, the objector, select cosmetics, and any other means of applying a picture to something.

As @virr mentioned we have a discussion about the current spray rules and when we finalize that we will also make it explicitly stated that these alternative methods of showing pictures are also subject to the same rules as sprays.
