Tsuchikure 38 Posted September 13, 2017 (edited) My concern is that this chatroom is just going to turn into a pron dump and a great place for people to spew negativity simply because they can do so behind a keyboard. I don't think that's the way we want to be seen as a community. Even if it's an NSFW channel, I still don't think it would give leeway for excessive or blatant negativity/bullying/death threats/illegal material/whatever else you can do to ruin somebody elses day. Those people, despite how rare they are, can still very easily be banned, and their messages deleted. I'd like to think that it's alright because it's usually just filled with butts (unless silence is online,) while also giving any curious onlookers a giant warning about the contents inside. But if some people *really* can't handle it because "I want the community that I'm in to be pg- 13 so children can show their parents" for god-knows what reason, then the best bet would be to just add an extra layer of pg- 13 and add a rank specifically made for the NSFW channel. Although I don't care about what's posted in the channel too much, my main intention for joining a GAMING community's voice server is surprisingly not for porn. However, due to it being explicitly stated that potentially NSFW content could be posted in that channel upon joining, anyone doing so is doing it at their own risk. It's not like it's a secret. If you're against the channel existing: Mute it, hide it, and move on. That's what I did, and *gasp* I magically don't see whenever people post in it anymore, it's like it doesn't exist! See it as a containment channel so they don't infect the other channels with that content. Ok? Ok. On the other hand, I don't really see an absolute need for a NSFW channel other than memes taken to the extreme. IDK why people gotta turn "discussion" threads into my feelings got hurt threads and de-rail the discussion. If you don't like what someone is saying or it hurts your feelings, ignore it, or get over it. Everywhere you go something will hurt someones feelings, talk it out with the person in the proper place (not on a thread trying to discuss something else) NSFW Channels as said previously will help limit the cancer that gets put into other channels, that being said I hope that our DM+ staff can stay on top of their game and actually be reading through the remaining channels making sure that nobody is posting Scout x Pyro porn in the TF2 channel because they are TF2 channels, Creeper x Creeper x Zombie x Skeleton x Cow gangbang shit in MC etc. and keep those non NSFW channels pretty clean. (within reason, obviously someone talking shit about an update or a feature they don't like with vivid vocabulary wouldn't be NSFW per say). Removing NSFW is also an option that would be fine and just make it a global thing where it is "Safe" from porn/nudity etc. but still have to be on top of all the text channels making sure people don't put that shit in chat anyway.
