Look, I get that you are having issues, but it is incredibly frustrating when you say you want to better yourself and don't put in the effort. From what I have seen, almost nobody has been straight up toxic to you. They have given their feedback on what you need to improve on and how to go about it. I think it was made pretty clear from the post where you said you improved yourself, that we wanted to see it first. We wanted to actually see results, and it takes time to actually prove this. Here is where I think you are having issues, you are being incredibly short-sited and impatient. Time is the key, you have to put in the effort which does not happen instantly. @SegFault said it well (and while I was typing this so thanks for that.) Finally, please don't do something you regret, lik- Like that. But in all seriousness, this is an example of what we are talking about. Every time you leave you dig yourself a deeper hole, and when you want to come back it becomes harder and harder to climb out of it. Well, good luck with wherever life takes you. Neon, I think something to note is the timeline in which all these things have happened is extremely short. You have to give time to be forgiven and prove you've put in work. You're always welcome back here but I think you've put out quite a few people by saying over and over what a shitty community some of us have spent weeks, months, and even years to create. If I were you, I would just work on making amends with others and think before you say something on the forums, discord, or in game. Not gonna lie, I don't like the idea of the hidden staff promotions. No one knows that the person is gonna get staff until promo/demo comes out. No room for anyone to speak out against it without having to make a member protest / an abuse thread, both of which are almost impossible to pass. It's good that Spooks will actually make a mod app when they come around to it because again, I don't see why silent promotions from member to mod exist.

This isn't the place to discuss this. If you have a problem with how people are chosen to become staff on xG, make an independent forum post about it. This is a hello/apology post where spooks herself literally said she's not going for staff right now, so there's no reason you should be discussing that here unless your intention is to start drama. Also hello and welcome back @Ms.Spooks, It's good to see you again! I believe xG is the best it has ever been currently, and I think your return will only make things better. I'm saying that she shouldn't get staff back right away. She should fall into the guidelines that higher-ups look for and become staff again later or, or apply like everyone else. To quote what I said from her leaving thread: "It honestly bothers me how people leave, comeback, and expect their spot back. Let other people have a chance to show what they can do." It's fine that if she wanted staff again, that she can eventually receive it. It's just ridiculous to make the statement sounding like she can instantly get staff after leaving/coming back. I'd rather not clutter the thread with any more unnecessary posts. If you feel like you want to discuss this more, I will gladly talk it out in private messages, Tekage.

Oh boy where do I start. I guess I'll start off by talking about my leaving. To be honest I left in a storm. I feel like I hurt a lot of people in the crossfire of my anger. Im sorry to those people. I'd also like to apologize to the members I let down. I wanted to provide the support I could for you guys and because I felt hurt and betrayed so I put myself first. It wasnt fair for you guys. I also want to apologize for going dark for so long. In case you don't know I've been under the guise of myagic for a while. It's taken me a long time to not feel so sour. With the recent state of staff however I feel a lot more comfortble in my return. Those who I've *unintentionally* hurt I want to bury the hatchet, if I havent already. I would like to be a part of the community again and hopefully most of you can forgive me in time. There was a lot of behind the scenes activities that left me hurt for a while. I was hoping to shed light in those issues when I left which for the most part I feel has been corrected. The state of xg *from what I've seen on the sidelines* has improved in a lot of ways. I'm hoping for a fresh start. I'm not looking for handouts. I dont know if I'm even considering staff in the near future. In time when I feel a bit more connected to the community again I may go for staff again. I just want to be clear my intentions are not set for staff again. I just want to feel involved with the community again. I hope we can move forward together. Thanks for your time.

I'll acknowledge that I was being an ass back then. Some of the stuff I still see as funny banter, but I understand that the comments about management were out of line. Now while this thread seems to have left the impression on some of you guys that it's not much more than a rant for not being promoted, I strongly disagree for the fact that she actually provided what she thought was wrong within this community in detail, which I genuinely find to be admirable, and while there are certain points I respectfully disagree with, there are some I actually actually agree with as opposed to some people here, which I'll now leave my response to, without getting into too much detail, from not any up-to-date experiences but rather experiences I've had when i was active in the TF2 division. I think this is what is needed to be accomplished, I've always felt like there is something that just doesnt work with our current system of staff ranking, one major problem imo which creates a lot of bitter feelings (as shown in the quote below) in especially mods and pmods is HOW the pmod/mod/admin system is being used. One solution i've always had in mind for this and still support is that pmod and mod should be used as what they were intended initially to be used as, which is where the Mod and in this case Probationary Mod ranks are purely to observe someone's qualifications for being a staff member before making them an admin. Which would mean that there should be more admins than mods, and while I feel like long-time mods really have no reason to stay as mods, I'm still uncertain as to whether or not this would possibly cause problems, and how so. And another solution which could be deemed a bit too excessive would be to have official sub-divisions as in having a DL for a certain server for example, and while this may sound like it'd be unnecessary, I feel like it could show some real positive outcomes. As people have already mentioned in this thread, one problem with the TF2 division is that there are higher ups who don't get on each and every server and know everyone in those servers, or at least nowhere nearly as well as they do on the servers they actually are regulars on. But of course this is just an idea, and I think it'd be both fun to implement this and it could potentially solve a bunch of core problems some people face within our community. Also, this I completely agree with in every aspect, and feel that more people in the staff rankings need to have a better understanding of. I personally don't consider this a punishment role, but rather another rank in the system that is once again imo counter-productive, im talking about the sort of "Staff Class" usage of the ranks pmod, mod and admin, which once again should be replaced with a much more productive way of using the ranks, as I stated in the previous paragraph. This I strongly disagree with, for the simple fact that from all my experience in the TF2 community I've seen again and again how most people don't know what they really want when they demand something, it's just a fact that whenever something that majority wants is implemented, the new majority becomes the people who complain about said implementation. I mostly agree with this, although along with the point bello brought up, it has become apparent that this issue just isnt that simple as to how it can be resolved, and at the end of the day what it boils down to is the quality of staff members and higher ups. Other than that my personal opinion is that staff should indeed be treated as witnesses themselves, and a staff member should always have more credibility than a witness and shouldnt always require proof when they take action against something. And the rest of the topics seem a bit more subjective and more case-by-case scenarios as to what they apply to and what they imply, and since I havent been in touch with the TF2 Division as of late, I won't touch on those subjects. This last part I will assume you didn't write with a clear piece of mind, I feel a debate about things like this is the most important thing to have. And regardless of what you say here you still will be welcomed back if you do change your mind, either way, take care & peace.

I mean, she was fantastic staff and I fail to see what negative outcomes there may be should be get staff again. If you feel as though she is undeserving of staff, please talk to a higher up or make an abuse thread, should she get staff again, should she want staff again.

As much as I agree with Kypari and Nebby that you don't have to leave if you feel like its a must then so be it. Always remember that xG is an open community and if you do ever get a change of mind to come back we all would gladly help you come back with open arms. The depression is something I must comment on, if you feel like leaving than so be it but if you ever get bad thoughts or just feel emotionally shattered at any point in time all of us are here for you. If you ever need to vent or talk about something that you have been meaning to get off your chest for a while I'm here for you, all of us are here for you. As of now I'm gonna miss seeing you around on tf2 servers. Best of luck with your future endeavors and if you decide to keep the membership than so be it, if not then once again so be it. No real reason to leave just yet. Hopefully, the two sides can agree that 99% of the problems on the Discord come from porn and other suggestive material being posted in #shitposting. If we can agree to no longer make #shitposting a no-mans-land and lay down a rule or two, then we should be fine having an NSFW meme channel. The only people who really lose anything of substance in this compromise would be the children who get their fetish fap material from there.

Being able to help and guide people on the servers as somewhat of a role-model for sure. I love helping new staff get as comfortable and enjoy their position as much as possible whilst still maintaining peace and positivity on the servers and to guide regulars or members on rules and trying to get staff (etc)

Yeah but the main issue being brought up is the icky porn being posted and not so much the toes. The toes have only been posted because of the porn and they haven't been posted in the longest time so that issue is super irrelevant.

You may not know or remember me well Brian, but around the time you were DL I was your typical squeeker on jb, but that's besides the point, I saw how things went down back then, and I saw what the outcomes were, and how people reacted to it. I would be able to justify +1ing this if it weren't for the situations I left for some time, or when I am around then you haven't been anywhere to be seen, and all I can go off of is what I remember from years ago. What matters is how hard you try to improve, and if what you said is true, then I'd say you tried pretty damn hard. If you still feel unwanted by the community, even after all that, then maybe it's for the best that you find a new community. I'm not trying to say that everyone hated you or anything like that. It's just that you obviously have had problems with folks in the community, and haven't really enjoyed your time here.
