Server Updates

  • This thread is no longer maintained as it's far too time consuming.
  • Keep in mind, we do this much improvements every month.

December 2015

  • Fixed slow transfer speeds for Teksavvy clients when retrieving server files.
    • A carrier was throttling TCP traffic between Chicago and Toronto.

    [*]Fixed the majority of failed to load sound error causing rubber-banding.

    [*]Removed chat clutter by making all text staring with ! or / silent.

    [*]Rebalanced brood upgrade menu

    • Enforced four point minimum for newly infected broods
    • Made offensive just as effective with less points.
    • Buffed utility and brought invisible to teir 1.
    • Nerfed the overpowered defensive tree.

    [*]Fixed a few more lua errors caused for random reasons.

November 2015

  • Relaunched Morbus server in Chicago
  • Upgraded gamemode version to 1.5.7
  • Afk admins are now handled 70s faster than regular players!
  • Installed crystal loading screen to improve loading experience.
    • Added server rules (don't have to read in-game)
    • Better shows file progression on downloads.
    • Looks better than just a regular picture.

May 2015

  • Updated motd to the new tab format (more organized)
  • Replaced the old breach with the new one (higher pref, less boring)
  • Clients who afk to populate the server are no longer kicked.
  • Added a few weapons from the new gamemode version.
  • Updated FastDL to only redirect for large files. (faster)
  • Removed fun/unneeded commands from moderator access.

March 2015

  • When no swarm lives are available, a single life will be spawned every 20s.
    • Combats round prolonging and spectator jams caused by bad brood(s)

    [*]Two starting broods now spawn at 12 instead of 14 players. (More Balanced)

     

    [*]Three starting broods now spawn at 19 instead of 23 players (More Balanced)

     

    [*]Broods who shoot instead of infect now receive a 33-50% selection penalty

    [*]Blaster is now slightly less overpowered without changing damage.

    • Fixes routing issues preventing European downloads

  • Improved gamemode server performance
  • Fixed an client side rubber-banding issue
  • Added additional download slots to keep the server full for longer.
  • Fixed North American/European FastDL autoselect by closest location.

  • Faster scoreboard loading and decreased download times {autoselect closest location, workshop content pack}
  • Performance improvements {pointshop MySQL, other gamemode improvements}
  • Weight reductions to rifle combos and mgs (provide an shotgun alternative)
  • More responsive chat+mics and faster + bug-free map voting
  • Map based round counts and two player game-mode starting
  • More clear role-hints and an mission tagging feature
  • Fixes for a few annoying client lua errors
