The steam group is integrated with the steam client people play on the server with. It's a powerful tool for shipping notifications to clients and populating the server. Otherwise, it's mainly used for quick questions or posting links to player models people want on the server. Longer posts like feedback threads, the forums work better for. There's pros and cons to both. You can't just invite someone to be instantly signed up on the forums, like what can be done with a steam group during prep-rounds.
 
Something like updating a staff roaster is a task an assistant like a division manager should be performing. My time is limited and valuable due to programming skills. So improving the server experience is always going to be set at a higher priority than updating the staff roaster. There's no dm currently, if there was it would be done already.
 

Currently there's nobody willing from other divisions that's active on Garry's Mod. That's why launching TTT will change things, by sparking more interest. I'm always looking for more staff. There are multiple moderators currently, but that's the only task they wish to perform.
 

Garry's Mod is a huge positive having the game-server and the moderators. The only thing missing is the human resource element appointing a division manger could fix this, but there has to be someone willing to perform the task and stay in-touch with the community. A couple have expressed they're only willing to do this for TTT when it's launched. Multiple servers will be the key factor in the future, to create the type of clan involvement TF2 has, while maintaining all the positives of running things differently.

Legends unique rules-
Legends will not receive credits based on kills, but rather for wins. (450 per win)
Legends cannot use their "main" versus challengers in the brackets
Legends will be faced off against each other in the first rounds of the bracket.(fixed bracket seeding)
 


Challenger unique rules-
Challengers will recieve credits based on wins + kills (100 per kill 300 per win)
Challengers will get map picks over legends

Confused on how you'll earn credits?
Credits will be given to players who earn kills (amt TBD) + a win will give you extra credits (amt TBD)
I have initially set this to a maximum of 16 players (amount could rise dependent on the love this thread gets)
For the brackets I have a sign in requirement so please make sure you'll be able to play before signing up.(no birthdays or windows 10 @scheptzel)
I will be streaming every game I'm able to, and will do my best to cast games that I am not participating in.
First place winner will receive 5000 credits for their division of choice or forums.
Second place winner will receive 2500 credits for their division of choice or forums
Legends will receive 450 credits per win
Challengers will recieve 100 credits per kill, and 300 per win

So, I was honestly shocked to find out that xG still has servers for some divisions that are nearly always empty. I think it is time to trim the fat of the community and get rid of some of these dead divisions to free up funds for new things that will bring in members and give current members access to newer games.
 
I was looking at the only statistics I could find on the CS:GO div server and from what I can tell it is almost always empty or at most has 2-4 players for like an hour once a week... The staff don't even seem to actively play in the div.
 
Another thing I have found is that it seems a lot of the "higher ups" like CLs and DLs don't seem to be very active in ANY div that the clan has and I feel like the higher ups that are in charge of some important decisions regarding the future of this clan should play a more active role, and play on the servers to get to know more of the members.
 
I would like to hear other peoples' thoughts and opinions on this. :)

Based off of the Tl;Dr responses I got i'll respond accordingly.
The reason I'm not permed is just like any other reason really, People feel remorse especially when somebody apologize's in a sincere fashion. I've been in the clan for nearly 5 years, and have told people this is my Internet home away from home (Our team speak we all use) Like I said in my apology thread (the most recent) I was in xG at a much different time when it wasn't all just about following strict rules (that are let lenient by people you become friends with) I've been staff countless times and I know how to talk my way through issues as well all these things help with how i'm not banned, and how some others are not banned that should be permed. (also remember i still have my get out of jail free card the mona pizza challenge) Kappa
 
Secondly on the population issue and why people are not joining and staying in the clan is simple, Nothing is appealing We've tried before with csgo jailbreak and bringing back css jailbreak with the #populate events but nothing stays the same forever, people get bored. and when it came to csgo jailbreak, what made us better than any other jailbreak? nothing. If anything we were just another server that used basic plugins and didn't code/map anything our selves. So if you want to populate the clan more and more take initiative learn coding, or do something productive towards the clan in a recruiting / populating way.
