Yup. I'm even re-teaching myself to draw to finish the character designs. I've already learned a bit of coding as well. I've got a buddy of mine who can help me out, but he's also working on a game, so I may be doing it all myself in the end. And thanks, I hope I'll actually be able to finish it

Alrighty, I got a semi-obscure game to start off with: Fighting Force was originally supposed to be a sequel to my favorite series, Streets of Rage. Sega decided to pull out last minute though because the devs wanted to put it on consoles that weren't the Saturn. This game would've been part 4 in the series The gameplay is slightly clunky do to it being a 3D beat 'em up. Especially if you had a PS1 controller without an analog stick. But it's an alright game, good mindless punchy punch

Oh boy here we go. I was there that day and there are also chat logs I can pull up to back up anything I say here So let's get started: @Goblins was most likely using All chat at that time. Now, his message would most definitely stick out from your Purple, Yellow, and Teal chat, especially with the little (All) before his message I mean let's be honest here, you were spamming, you were gagged, he kinda is the good guy. I don't see any reason for him to apologize about your spamming and your constant arguing after the fact. Which leads me to my next point: Now most of the time when someone is punished (after the 30 mins of course) they realize what they did wrong and usually drop it then. Since you know... you had 30 mins to cool off... But nope, you began to argue with him, tell him he wasn't doing his job correctly, and saying he should be demoted. Calling him things like "Princess", "Queen", and an abuser in chat. You were then kicked for continuing the argument when @Goblins said to stop You then rejoined. After more arguing and Goblin saying that you'll be banned if you continue you finally said "Whatever. I'll shut up now" to which Goblin replied "Nothing else needs to be said" and "Thank you" You then for some reason decided to re-rustle all your jimmies and said "YOU DID IT AGAIN". A lot like how you react when you die in TGH. You then called him a 5 year old, he tells you to drop it and you say that it's in fact Goblin causing it. Goblin tells you one last time to stop instigating, to which you respond "I'm not the one instigating" then you use your bind: "Welcome To Tf2. Home Of Script Kiddies, Tryhards, And Shitty Admins" But in server chat you said this right afterwards: "sorry i was testing a bind i just made" You didn't "accidentally" hit that bind, you just made it and decided to use it In the end, I feel @Goblins shouldn't apologize, since he was doing his job, and that you just need to calm down from what was originally a VERY small punishment. Oh, and don't say you aren't mad, I see how you talk to others on TGH :^)

As sad as your stepping down is, I hope you have fun going out and doing stuff this summer. Unless the stuff you're doing is work... then you know... Have fun?

Replace One Of The Low Population Servers With A Bhopping Server.
Bone replied to Thorax_'s topic in TF2 Discussion
Though I'd love to see a Bhop server, I feel like it wouldn't be too popular. Maybe if we could get a map that's half Bhop half Surf, we could add it to the surf server since it's already got Bhop. If such a thing doesn't exist, maybe I could make one, I dunno. Just a thought -Sincerely. a person who goes on TF2 to Bhop -
Gee, it sure is summer around here

+1 A:7 M:9 Floppy's a real nice guy, very mature, and I've already been seeing a lot of activity from him already

Yeah, I'm just trying to learn the basics now, and possibly make a little demo of a game while doing so. The other project I plan on doing will easily take me 2+ years even after I know how to code

Well, I wouldn't call myself an "Artist" (since sometimes even I hate my own work) but I do draw quite a bit, hence my profile picture. I don't really have a good tablet or anything to draw on my PC with as of currently, but I suppose I could help you out in the future if my other friend who also codes games doesn't need my help. As of now, I'm just trying to get through coding so that I could also work on some Sourcemod stuff, since it's similar to C#/C++. Plus, I figured the design stuff could come after I figure the coding, since I need to practice it (as well as use Unity templates for coding practice instead of making models)
-
Alright, thanks. I thought of using Unreal as well as Source and Cry engine, but felt like Unity is a bit more... Entry level... The problem is that Unity doesn't accept C++ at all, so I have to learn C# then C++, which isn't a big deal. Although I could use one of those pre-made game makers to make my game, I decided to try and get away from the 2D 8/16-bit style, since it's honestly overused now. I also do want to learn coding, since I also want to make Source Plugins for TF2 sometime down the road. So if I have some kind of experience learning, that will be a bit easier.

So, didn't know if I should post this in "Games" or here, so I'll post here and someone can move it if they want Basically, I'm making a Unity Game, but I'm not very... uhhh... "talented" in the coding area. This is however a game I've been wanting to make for years and have decided to do something about it. I was wondering if anyone here has any coding experience. Most likely gonna learn JS first since it's supposed to be easier, but want to learn C++ since it's more widely used. I don't want to reveal too much about the game other than that it'll be a 2D/2.5D Side Scrolling Beat 'em Up 'cause why not? I plan on doing pretty much everything myself, from models to music, everything. I'm just awful at coding since it confuses the hell out of me. So, any coding advice, or anyone here with Unity experience?

If I were you, just to be safe, do a quick virus/malware scan in that area. I checked in the same place on my PC and it doesn't exist

Neat. Just in case you need it STEAM_0:1:42708366

Me: "Boss, I quit." Boss: "Ok... See you at 3."

Don't bump so much. You'll rustle people's jimmies which is bad considering you're trying to get on their good side for them to +1 you. Plus it's not helping your case too much by going against the advice of staff... You know.. Just throwing that out there
-
It'd take a lot of work, sure, but I'm willing to do all the "coding" myself. And since it'll automatically activate when anyone on the server equips a certain item, it'd be easy to test and balance
-
There's no template sadly, but it's not hard to make. I used to use it to give myself Unusual hats  You could technically use it to give yourself an SMG that fires exploding Miniguns... but let's not get carried away. I believe @Rejects also knows how to do it
-
1. Hale doesn't need to activate it, it happens at random automatically. Even if the person playing Hale doesn't have Explosive, they'll be explosive 2. The plugin you're talking about is extremely easy to customize. Everything about it is customizable, it just takes some work, etc. A lot of people did like the plugin, but were upset homing was removed, now that it's already removed I'm sure they won't care I had actually thought of something but uhh, ehhhh.... a lot of work.. Basically, TF2Items is a plugin used to give players the Bosses' set weapons. You could technically write a long list of code that makes every weapon have new attributes. Example: Knife; On backstab get 5 seconds of crits and get 100 HP overheal. GRU; Even faster movement speed (maybe like 450), faster firing speed, but slowly drains HP. Sniper Rifle; Outlines boss on hit, explosive headshots, crits mid-air targets. This could be done with every weapon to basically re-make the buffs the weapons get on FF2. Just change weapons for different buffs and play styles. It would take a lot of work, but would certainly be something original to the server
-
Alrighty, so.... I feel like the explosion radius is a bit much when used by Hale but seems fine to me when players use it. It could do a little less damage, but rocket jumping has the same risk of blowing yourself up, so just don't hit yourself as a Sniper. Hales however shouldn't get to use it, since one guy as CBS can kill a group of people in one shot without even aiming -edit note- Due to this and another issue I've known about that can be a bit OP... it may be in our best interest to find a replacement for PP if possible. If for some reason explosive arrows gets removed, then a whole new perk plugin should just replace PlayPoints

I've got a bit of a personal story about fair use and whatnot. Occasionally I make stupid videos, you know, ones that make cartoon characters swear, etc... I have a few that use Spongebob. At least 70% have been blocked in other countries (except Canada for some reason). I'm not allowed monetize my videos due to them using Copyrighted content (not that I would want to anyway...) but I noticed something strange a few weeks ago. One of my videos has nearly 1 million views, the video has a "uses copyrighted content" notification, yet it isn't blocked while others are by the same company. Even stranger, I'm not allowed to monetize it, but the company actually is. They're literally making money off a video I made which is covered by fair use. They didn't block it since it had so many views and they figured they could make a quick buck by monetizing a video they didn't make. I don't actually care, since I don't want to monetize anyway, but I think it's kinda scummy they'd block my videos except the ones they can make money from which are also covered by fair use

Ah yes, good old DR. Mantis Toboggan. His research is very trustworthy and true. This face wouldn't lie to you

I was actually wanting this myself. I could make it, but I recently built a new PC so none of my old programs are installed anymore. If I can install them all later I'll make it for you. Takes all of 10 mins, and I'll upload it to my TF2banana account Edit: Never mind, here you go
