  1. The Trouble in Terrorist's Town server, like all other GMod servers, follow the General Garry's Mod Server Rules found here, in addition to the General Community Rules found here. Portal Gun Rules: The Portal Gun follows general rules of RDM. Do not use it to randomly kill people with no reasoning. Do not use it to escape the map boundaries at any point. No creating traps to trap people (i.e. in other players, inside a wall, etc.) When spectating, do not possess props in order to kill people. KOS Rules: You cannot KOS others without a legitimate reason (unless you're a traitor), such as being shot or someone having a traitor weapon without being proven. Some non-legitimate reasons to KOS, and instead are potentially only suspicious, include but are not limited to the following: Refusing to test Scoping in with a sniper rifle Following people around Otherwise non-KOS-able but suspicious actions Potential future rules will be added to this thread when the need arises. 2. Earlier on the DR server, I brought up the subject of adding Bhop to our Deathrun server, like I did a months ago in this thread here: This thread here First, let's go over the Bhop Plugin in question, which is this plugin here: Fysics Control The plugin allows quite a bit of customizing, including a max speed cap. For more info, a Scout's normal speed is 400. Our Deathrun plugin also allows the Death's base walk speed to be altered (current I believe is 400). Secondly, I'd like to go over why I think adding Bhop would be a good idea: It adds another aspect to the gameplay other than "Run in/run out". It makes what would normally be impassable traps passable, traps that are originally unfair. It would also give the Runners a bit of a confidence boost, since they have more of a chance of bypassing a trap. This would speed up rounds quite a bit instead of Runners standing at a trap they're too scared to try and beat for 20 minutes. Finally, I'd like address issues that may cause people to feel strongly against Bhop being added: "Adding Bhop makes the Runners way too fast!". Simply add a speed cap either at, or slightly lower than Death's base speed. "Death's reaction time isn't good enough!". Most traps are instant, with a fairly large area of effect. Plus a lot of maps have choke points, curves, or uneven terrain which makes having a consistent hop a lot harder. "Bhoppers will jump the entire map in a single bound/will be moving at mach 5!". In order to keep up speed, you have to keep a consistent hop. The settings in the plugin can make it more or less forgiving on the timing as well as how much of a strafe is needed to even gain speed. Also, speed caps. I feel adding Bhop could help make our server more original when compared to other servers, and could help keep it populated/popular among players. We could also have a trial run for a short period of time to test it. If it's not fitting to the server, so be it, we simply remove it and move on. I'm not saying we absolutely need to add or lest our servers die a horrible and slow death, but it should at least considered. As always, post any of your concerns or how you'd feel about Bhop being added, whether you're for or against the idea.
  3. You're probably wondering "Bone, you recently made a thread about Deathrun maps, you Dingus. Why did you make this one?" Well, Lardies and Gestlemen, this one's different. An idea came to me. On occasion, the Death will give freeruns for a specific Minigame to be played. So I figured "Why not cut out all this superfluous Deadly Power-Walking and just skip to the good stuff?". With that I bring you: A DR map that's only Minigames! ...Err, well, not yet anyway. I wanted to get the community's OP-Onion first, since this wouldn't "technically" be a Deathrun map, but could still be pretty dang fun. The basic idea is: Death is in a control room. He has roughly 30 seconds to hit a button to choose a Minigame before suddenly exploding (to save RED from AFKs). Once a button is hit, all players are teleported to the corresponding Minigame assigned to that button. The amount Minigames could constantly increase as further iterations of the map are developed upon the community's request. However, the first few ideas are: Sweeper, Obstacle Course, Conveyor Belt Obstacle Course (which I'm told is called "Steady Pace"), a Crush Game, and a Mini Deathrun (you know, since people join the server for it...). So leave your thoughts/ideas on Minigames here, and if you're a regular DR player, vote on the poll. 4. This is something that's been on my mind for a very very long time. Adding the ability to Bhop on our Deathrun server. Why you may ask? Firstly, because it's fun. Secondly, because if you play regularly on our Deathrun server, you'll know that there's quite a few traps that you absolutely cannot escape or get past. Be it a ridiculously large hitbox, a quick moving (sometimes invisible) hazard, or it just being a huge trap. Bhopping could help Runners get through normally impossible or very difficult traps, or even help the Death catch up to people rushing on maps without a pusher. Obviously, however, Bhopping could also make the game much more difficult for those playing Death. How are you gonna catch them when they're moving at Mach 2? Simple, limit the max speed. I believe this is what our Surf server uses (please correct me if I'm wrong), and I propose we use this plugin for Deathrun, considering you have more control over the max speed a player can get and it's much much more customizable. I think Deathrun Redux automatically sets all player's speeds to 300 (except Death) unless our server has it edited. So perhaps set the max obtainable speed to 400-450? Hopefully the plugins use the same unit of measurement... I'm gonna put up a poll to see if anyone else who plays DR might be interested in this, or if the majority of players prefer vanilla(ish) Deathrun.
  5. You're probably wondering why I've gathered you all here.... Or not.... Either way you can't leave now. The purpose of this thread is simple, I've learned how to use Hammer to make Deathrun maps now I want to abuse that power for world dominance take advantage of it and make some neato maps for xG. Here's a preview of a beta map I've got so far The map is split between 3 sections. A Steamy pipe area, an underground sewer area, and an undecided area that will either be a boiler room or an assembly line, I dunno yet. This is just a beta, plus I want the rest to be a bit of a secret. After I finish this barely adequate map, I wanted to have xG collab on a map. This way we'll have a completely original map for xG that no other server would have, made by the community. Basically, we'll just need to come up with a theme, trap ideas, and minigame choices. If anyone wants to help on mapping, just lemme know. I will be taking care of the majority, if not all the work. But since I have a bit of a strange schedule at work, it could take a while for me to get it done. Anyway... Just post your ideas here
  6. This new ghost system is getting some mixed feeling so I created this. My opinon is that they should get rid of it due to flying weapons (pans) spamming, voice chat symbols blocking my view, and lagging when they enter my body.
