- At around 4AM EST, our machine crashed. An emergency Xen Hypervisor update was installed on the machine and it was brought online.

- Our VPS never started, and had issues mounting the disk.

- It was determined that the VPS kernel did not properly support the newest version of the Xen Hypervisor, so we downgraded it and the VPS was able to start again.

- Main VPS had kernel updated to the latest stable release.

- MySQL server refused to start, and after viewing the logs, major corruption was responsible for the server being unable to start.

- Quickly restored backups of the MySQL databases, and rebuilt the InnoDB logs, bringing the server back online.

Sorry about the downtime. I promise it wasn't my fault!

We applied the same process towards the database machine, and it crashed upon connection. It disabled complete connection to the machine and crashed out all other clients using that machine. Essentially we were dead in the water and were waiting for it to be fixed for HOURS. Once it was fixed and we were able to connect again, we did the EXACT SAME THING as we did to the website machine AGAIN, and it worked.

In response to this, we are going to be setting up a MySQL replication server and binding it together with a TCP balancer. So if one server goes down, all traffic can be sent to the other without issue :)

Hey you spastic anal munchkins! This Wednesday, we will be continuing our seizure-inducing headache of an event I like to refer to as Wub Wub Wednesday!

The last time we did this event, we had an excellent turnout. We enjoyed the discord that was the map koth_wubwubwub_remix, gave away free shit, and enjoyed the company of other spergs and regulars. I want to do it again!

As far as giveaways are concerned, I currently have nothing in the way of good items to give to our players, so unless we receive any sort of donations on that part, it looks to be just enjoying the map this time around. That is all subject to change however if anyone finds it in the kindness of their souls to give me shit so I can give it away. (@Dethman, you have stuff you wanted to donate. GIMME.)

The ruleset for applying to become a staff member have been updated. The most important thing to note is the fact that the rule regarding donating to the clan to become a staff member is NOT going away, but will instead be enforced rigorously beginning today. We also want to begin utilizing the Staff Applications more thoroughly, so spread the word around that if people are interested in a position, they should let us know by applying.

If you were considering applying for staff or have an active application, please read through the rules and ensure you meet all of the criteria to become a Staff Member, and as always, thank you for your interest in helping our clan grow!

The donation rule has been revoked. Donations are not necessary to apply for staff. HOWEVER, it weighs favorably for you if you have donated prior to applying.

We have setup a cluster of database servers with two locations in the United States and one in Europe for faster connection times for game servers and applications.

Also, we have setup on these same servers a new FastDL server that will send you to the right server based on your location, resulting in a huge download speed increase. European players will no longer have to wait for long download times! (note for DLs, the FastDL syncing method is exactly the same so you don't have to change anything!)

We are also going to be setting up another backup Teamspeak server in case of failure, as well as setting two backup websites in case this goes down.

This is happening because downtime can be a very irritating thing, and we don't want anyone to have to suffer through that.

If you notice any performance issues with the new system, please let us know immediately and we will take a look into it!

I'll be trying to make a monthly thread on changes that are to come short term and long term for the community, and as always we would love to hear from you!

Our server will be a Multi-verse server that has Factions PVP and a separate world for Creative Building. (This will include people owning plots of land to build what they want and we can use them for build contests) We will be testing the server to make sure donation features and all the plugins we have work, and should have the server out on the week of the 15th. More info will be out on the Minecraft section, and if you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask them there.

Hub is coming. Yes, it's legitimately on its way. This should be out before September and will allow you all to actually earn credits from playing on the servers or donating to us for some amazing perks! More info on that will be on the CS:GO section.

There are plans to revive some of the dead servers, and creating more community events. If you guys have any suggestions or feedback about the servers, please head on over to the TF2 section on the forums.

You might have already seen some of the changes, but they are not done yet. We will have our homepage that features our most active threads, our news and we should be cleaning it up and have it finished by the next few days. I will be writing a "Who Are We" section on the forums to give everyone a better feeling of what it means to be in xG. We are also changing our Donation system this weekend and will have all donations visible on the front page and hopefully seamlessly integrate it with the upcoming hubs for CS:GO and Minecraft. We will also implement uses for the credits on the forums :)

Hey guys, so I wanted to give you guys an explanation on Minecraft. Long story short, we are changing our Factions server into Towny and the server will come out at a date later announced. We apologize for the delay, at first we had high hopes due to how much work our div leaders and staff were putting in, but the time constraint they put on themselves along with pressure from others made them work on it tirelessly, and after getting about 10+ members to help with building, the final product was not at the quality that they wanted it to be. I promise to get more vocal when we plan future divisions with the staff, and to plan out our schedule accordingly and not rush anything. I hope you guys enjoyed the events in October, unfortunately we didn't watch a movie but we played Town of Salem, TF2, CS:GO (with spooky breaks and zombie chickens), and Hunger Games on Minecraft. I gave around 20000 credits to winners from random trivia and events while TF2 had random item giveaways! Please provide feedback so we can improve our events and bring them out more often!

Terraria is having a brand new update that is a crossover with Dungeon Defenders 2 so we will have a server up on the 18th for anyone interested! I'm going to be changing the sponsor system to reward tiers (Think kickstarter) but current sponsors will all be in the tier of whatever they paid for currently, and any reward added to any tier will automatically be granted to anyone who has donated the required amount. This means if you donated for sponsor twice (i.e. 40$) and we add a new reward for the 40$ tier then it means whoever donated in the past still gets those new rewards, even if it's months after they donated. More news on that this week!

We had discussed a few months ago about making it so member applications only need an Admin+ instead of Div+ for CS:GO (and possibly TF2) so we might make that change. I will get the thoughts of the div leaders and managers and let you all know if any changes occur!

I am looking for ideas on what people are willing to create for Xeno Gamers and how we can help you guys out in return. I will create a universal guide for it so feel free to inbox me or post in general any ideas you have for content creation.

We have reset the ranks due to a bug with GameMe on the Minigames server. (The bug was any TK gave you -50 points, even if the map encouraged it) We have also discussed a possibly of adding a script to the servers that gives an item to a random player from the bot that holds all the CS:GO items that people traded in for credits. We don't know the fine details yet but any ideas on ways to implement it are more than welcome!

We are also starting a CS:GO team for xG. If you are interested in applying, read Cs:go Team! for more info.

We are also going to start dedicated "operation populate" times for the different servers and put them on our events, that way if someone really wants to play Minigames for example, they can see that on fridays at X time that we have an event already scheduled if they can't manage to populate it at their current time.
