  1. Neato. Are these available on all servers? Cause if I can't disguise as a barrel on DR I'm gonna be miffed.

I have added them to all servers, but please don't use the disguises to get any advantages of course.

  2. Also, should I talk to anyone? I wasn't aware of this one particular change, and can't say I'm exactly 110% ready for it. I just assumed I would have been told beforehand if this was going to happen.

Well if in the event you do not wish to be mod, we can always take you off the list at any time.

  3. While I do find this very useful for personal use, it doesn't help those who don't have staff in their friends list. Specifically newer people on the servers who aren't familiar with whom staff are or may be, or even how to find them. Now of course having the admin and mod titles helps with this issue, but not so much if the staff member is using their mic more so then text chat. This also makes things significantly easier for people to impersonate staff members through the mic as well. Perhaps, and I'll pulling this out of my rear end here, making it required for warnings to be issues through text chat before one can actually take action to a mute/kick/etc, to ensure that the staff title is seen by users.

Most staff members give a warning through all chat. With that being said, if someone wanted to impersonate a staff member over voice, the old tag system would not have helped with that at all, as all it required was just simply putting on the tag. This is why we allowed for them to choose between the two, because if the staff does use mic more, they can use the name tags. If a staff member uses chat more, they can use the titles. This system of identifying staff gives the staff members more freedom to choose how they are seen as staff, through tags or titles. Also if in the event you do need to find all the staff members, we have a steam group for that: Steam Community :: Group :: xG Tf2 Staff Group, we try to keep it as up to date as possible.

  4. My only concern about the tag thing is finding the staff in the friends list if needed. And name changes are common amongst a minor chunk of staff.

    Other than that; good choice

You can add your own tags to your steam friends. If you feel that you're going to have a difficult time finding them, click the drop down arrow next to their name and click "Tag as..." to tag them.

  5. No offense to @Hiryunix congrats I guess even though you never speak to me :[! But I'm starting to see a trend in the promotions in our Team Fortress 2 division. If you look at the latest promo/demo threads, five out of seven of them include people who play on TGH.

This concerns me because some of these promoted players literally only play TGH or their designated server. They know rules well enough, but they don't interact with any of the other servers at all. I don't mean to start a fight here between the whole division, but the whole "I NOMINATE THEE FOR STAFF!!!111!11!" thing isn't the best idea. I think DM+ should take a good, hard look around the servers, maybe even asking staff members about this player or that one.

tl;dr: DM+ please actually look around the servers instead of only having a nomination for who should have staff. It has it's limits when two of the three of four higher ups play on one server *mostly* so they might not even have any idea who the person is that they're voting on.

There is no problem with staff sticking to a certain server, I'd almost encourage it as having a staff member who knows one server well is better than that staff member hardly knowing any. Surf has its own handful of staff, as does Pokemon, I really see no problem with promoting people who "only play on one server" because at least they'll know what they're doing on said server. Wyverness was a great choice because she's almost always online at the late hours of the night when everyone else is asleep, and I see no problem with her only playing on one server. Considering that TGH and Surf are our two most active servers right now, it is not a bad thing to see multiple staff members on these servers, though it may leave other staff members unable to actually do any part of their job because there's others there already. Though, I do find it quite amusing that you know what seems like "insider information", please keep future complaints/problems about promo/demo out of the promo/demo threads, just message one of us privately and we can clear up any confusion.

  6. I think some people need to be thought that whether a staff member is active enough or not is determined by HIGHER UPS, not by the public's vote. I don't see how you think you have a say in the matter

If a normal user can look at someones TF2 activity and they think, "wow this guy is really inactive", they have every right to complain. The eyes of the community can always be judgemental ones, and they can at any point have their say in the matter. Just because it's determined by higher ups, doesn't mean people cannot voice their complaints about the inactivity, opinions are about the only thing people can give in terms of that. No, there's no point in witch-hunting for demotions, but you shouldn't tell people that they can't voice their opinion on others activity, even if it's wrong sometimes.

  7. First of all, lol at you TF2 guys who rate my shit negative since you have nothing constructive to talk about without acting like a child. @Dethman that's to you buddy.

With all due respect friend, but it's just a way for people to voice their opinion on your previous post, you should not act this way toward them for doing so
