Issue with new GPU

Recommended Posts

So I recently purchased and installed an EVGA GTX 660 SC (Superclocked, factory ofc). It's great, but in games like Black Ops 2, and ArmA, my computer will crash, or my monitor will restart. I assumed this was because I was bottlenecking it with my CPU (AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz quad-core), but it turns out that my card is unstable. The boost clock is 1111MHz, but my card gets 1162MHz and above. I'm attempting to downclock it, but I'm afraid I don't know the safety zone of howmany MHz I should/can cut off. Does anybody have any feedback/help for me? Thanks. -Chucktheman34

Under-clocking will do no damage to your card. Just under-clock your card until it becomes stable.

I have a Msi Radion HD 7770 power edition factory clocked at 1125mhz; and i have under-clocked to 800mhz to save some power.
