It is unnecessary, it fills up the chat window with useless garbage and it gives away personal information that anyone could take and use however they see fit.

Anyone could get your IP EASILY. Its displayed in TS3.

I could give you your IP right now. it would only matter to people with malicious intents, and if they know how to use it for that. and i guarantee you, that if someone intends to use your IP for malicious things, they know how to grab your IP easily through many other means.
