  1. Ok, I've fucked something up. I can't even get the Catalyst program to even recognize my GPU. My GPU is processing everything like it should be (graphics still look the way they should, Windows Aero colors are being used, I'm still having stuttering though), but I'm getting really irritated now. I think I'm just going to be playing Xbox for a while until I get this figured out. I've got all of the most recent AMD drivers and I've installed the disc again. I think I need more drivers or something.

  2. I'm getting the driver stuff right now. Just to clarify; None of my fans have dust including the CPU heatsink and the GPU fan. My GPU runs at about 34 Celsius idling at 60% fan speed (default is 20%). I don't overclock my GPU at all.

EDIT: Going to wipe all AMD programs/drivers off and re-do them.

  3. As mentioned in my hellos and goodbyes post, I've been inactive due to really fucked up computer problems.

Recently, my video has been hiccupy/stuttering during any application (game or just browsing Windows), my internet connection has been unusable (even though windows says I'm connected just fine), and I can't seem to do anything without these two conflicts. I can barely even load Google, can't even try and connect to Steam, can't play any games, etc.

    I recently tried to move some things to different slots as recommended by a friend and here's what happened;

I moved my Wireless Card down a PCI-Express slot, and removed my graphics card to see if that could have been causing the problem. I loaded Windows up (using my on-board graphics instead) and everything worked PERFECTLY FINE! I had a perfectly normal internet connection, I could get on Steam, load programs, browse the web, etc.

As soon as I pop my graphics card back in, I get the problems again. So I would assume my graphics card is fucking something up, right?

I've downloaded every driver/program/update/etc for my GPU straight from Sapphire and will report back after installation.

Right now, the only way I can play anything would be for me to remove my graphics card and play off of the on-board, which might not even allow me to play CS:S on lowest XD I could really only get on TS3 that way.

Please help, somebody! (Hopefully @@McNeo since he's been helpful in the past and is very knowledgeable :P)

P.S. I've wiped the dust off of all of my fans and air-canned my computer clean. Everything has always ran at a great temp, so I wouldn't think that's the problem.

  4. Deodate applying for mod?... More like... Deo...fffag... applying for... king retard.

    But in all seriousness +1

Deo's got great activity, a good mic, great warden, follows the rules, awesome person/player and would make a great mod.

I think I found the problem! I did some Googling and decided to close the Ralink manager program that works with my wireless card. Its only use is really to see your internet connectivity status and how it's doing. This can be done in CS:S with the console command McNeo mentioned earlier. I got on CS:S and had no problems! :D So I guess it was software interfering with hardware.

  6. I'm going to try my Xbox on wifi and see if there are connection problems.

If not, I'd assume it has to do with my computer, which is running off of the wifi from my DSL.

  7. I have DSL. I think now the problem could be that it's either the fact that my bunk is made out of metal and is blocking my signal or it's my wireless card. I have a Rosewill with 3 external antennas.

  8. Maybe you should stop playing CS and start playing CS:S :P That way you wouldn't be able to say you never see me BECAUSE YOU DON'T EVEN PLAY ON THE SERVERS EVERYONE ELSE PLAYS ON. Other than that, I have no clue how to help you <3

  9. I've checked my internet on a program that works with the driver of my wireless card and I've seen frames drop during these times dramatically. Usually I get about 70+ frames being sent and received successfully every second, but when it's bad, it seems to be less than half of that.

I just ran this and it seems to be working about average.

On this site, I usually have around 40ms ping, 1.4mbps download, and 0.4 upload.

Never ran on pingtest, but compared to yours in your signature, mine doesn't seem too bad.

EDIT: I got on JB right after this and I was having problems, even with the test results looking good.

I checked my frame counter and I had lots of fails and losses. I do agree that this seems like an upload problem.

  10. Recently, I've been having some really weird internet problems. This happens almost all of the time at night and sometimes during the day.

When I join JB, I connect just fine on the loading screen. When I see the game and the big join message, my ping is 200+ and I can hear voicechat just fine. My ping drops really fast to the normal 29. I can spectate, fly around, and see the game/hear voice chat perfectly fine. However, when I try and do almost anything (move my character upon spawning, send a chat message or just look around), my ping jumps rapidly to 55+, the game freezes and all I can do is hear voice chat. When my ping decides to stop flipping out, I can do stuff normally again for a bit and my character sort of "respawns" where I was when I started lagging. I say "respawn" because my character seems to fall an inch above the ground and I get my knife back as if spawning."

I'm pretty sure that this isn't the JB server. I think it's either my modem (these things like to be replaced every year or so) or my ISP (they might just love giving me the finger and lagging me out at night).

    So... what do?

    1. Raise hell to my ISP

    2. Buy another modem from my ISP and pray to god that fixes things

    3. Cancel my ISP and TV providers (Donet and Time Warner respectively) and switch to AT&T TV and internet so that I can have all of the same TV channels and features and have 8 times the internet download speed for the same exact price.

I'm feeling the last one :P I have friends in my area with AT&T who all have amazing internet (I've tested it myself).
