I've had support come in from all over and I've wathced how the whole paid-mod and paid-admin thing developed throughout the day. I've even been serenaded by a mod... I had the best intentions of trying to support this community and unfortunately it wasn't received well by others. I like this server and the community and most of you have your head on straight and can actually see what's going on. I'll follow your guys's lead and see where I end up and pick up from there.

Feel free to remove my powers. I'll most likely be around in game still. I just don't like being disrespected by a community that I've tried to help. You guys that have posted so far are all good, it's not you guys.

I can't beleive the level of disrespect I've received in the last 24 hours. If you haven't read my other posts please seek them out and do so, it might answer a few questions. I've put hours of effort into the community in game and on the forums to try to help whoever I could however I could. I love it here. When there was a cry for money yesterday I donated. In fact, I donated enough to get admin powers. But I said no. I told silence I had an open mod app and I wanted to earn it the hard way like everyone else. But he insisted in giving me something - so I took mod. Ever since then I've gotten support from a few people but I haven't heard the end of the "you paid for it" trolls. I've done my best to explain that I was donating to help, but that's not enough. To prove that I didn't pay for mod powers - and to prove that I only wanted to help the community - I am hearby leaving xg. Hopefully this proves that the powers really aren't that important to me... And hopefully I'll save someone the headache of a troll. It was fun. Good luck.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to this. I don't feel like I owe anyone an explanation but here it is: I created a mod app yesterday (here). If you read it you'll see that I was actually encouraged to apply by a handful of people and I've actually got something to back myself up. Furthermore you'll see serbiansnaga himself said I was on the right track. Shortly after I made the app I saw the SteamBOT notification with the plea for money. When I first started playing on this server I donated within 2 days because I liked the server. When I donated yesterday I also did it solely to support the community. With my donation I could have gotten Admin, but when Silence messaged me about the donation I told him not to give me anything and that I wanted to get mod the hard way. He insisted on giving me something, and since I was shooting for mod anyway, I took it. I know it appears, as many are saying, that powers are being bought. And the truth is, they are at the moment. Hopefully through my involvement in the community and with this explanation you can understand that I was sincerely trying to help the community. I intend to do plenty of question asking and watching before I use any commands outside of obvious rule breakers. I know I'm still new in the community so I haven't been around the block and earned the fullest respect from everyone which is another reason I plan on just taking it easy for the time being. Turn off trails - they give away your position if using teleporters or if you're mere steps ahead around a corner. Turn off tracers or set visibility to team-only or self-only - they give away your position. Turn off hats - Although CT's aren't "supposed" to use hats to identify you it's going to happen anyways. You want to blend in. Use !colors to your advantage - Black can be useful for hiding in corners. Orange blends in with sandstorm day. Experiment with other colors to blend in with surroundings (they don't exactly appear as what you'd expect).

These things are almost worse than those stupid “About me” sections on profiles… I never know what to write. I suppose I can start with some random points that make me a good candidate: As my initial xG app states I have been an admin before on a 54/60-slot pub server. With this experience I’m familiar with the position and responsibilities. I am quite active on forums with an average of nearly 5 posts per day on average. You’ll find my not-quite-world-famous how-to’s, a few random computer help responses, and other general chit chat. The only spamming is in the Random board that doesn’t count anyway. With my sporadic and unpredictable work schedule I can be on at odd hours such as late nights and early mornings. I currently average almost 4.5 hours per day of gameplay. In-game I’m as helpful as I can with explaining motd, demonstrating server-specific binds, etc. I am active on teamspeak though I do usually mute my sound only while I’m playing and there’s unrelated chatter in TS. I keep myself responsible for my actions. Perfect example is when even on first-day 2-CT vs 25-T I shot a vent while aiming for a rebel and slayed myself. I often find myself receiving messages in-game and via Steam not only from people asking for help, but also people who already assume I’m a mod anyway. Of course I always say I’m not and make sure I clarify the difference between Neo and McNeo. But even with those explanations people somehow assume I am - perhaps as a result of my helpfulness and understanding of the game. I’ve perhaps made a name for myself in the field of ban requests and the like. Maybe that’s a good thing; maybe it’s a bad thing. Either way I hope it’s become apparent that I try to present proof without faulting the admins when I fail to provide enough. Furthermore, I’m sure you’ve seen time and time again where I do try to remain unbiased (while still stating my point) to encourage discussion because I’m aware a ban of any length – and even being accused – is a serious matter. The only thing that could invalidate this application is that I’ve been in xG less than 2 months. Despite that fact I’ve had people all through the ranks – members to mods to div leaders – suggest that I apply anyway and see what happens. I figure the worst that can happen is you say no and I copy-pasta all this next month. I guess I’d like to point out that the 2-month-minimum is a relatively new thing, I understand there’s a reason for it however maybe there’s a grey area to be had considering I’ve got people telling me to apply? I’d also like to note that this 2-month thing is the only thing that seems to cause instant-denial, while everything else remains open for debate and consideration. Unless this 2-month thing is set-in-stone internally, Could I respectfully ask that you let this app roll and see what happens? I’m the guy out on the limb here anyway, let’s see how hard I hit if I fall. In closing, I’d just like to say that I very much enjoy my time here in-game and on the forums and I’d like an opportunity to help out if you need it. Thanks.

Uuuuh what you wanna do with it? Gaming? Graphic design? CAD? Storage? I could build 100 different unique computer with $600, each geared towards a different purpose. i.e. - You don't need a high-end GPU if it's a daily driver. I was in-game when this happened, There's no question that this was a mix up it's just a matter of time for a mod/admin to unban.
