Name Changing Programs

Hey everyone, I just noticed there has been a rise in people who use programs to rapidly change their name to other players in game and then break rules. @@tree @@Starbuck Would it be possible to get a plug-in on our server that restricts to amount of different names you can have on our server like per week? No one really changes their name 15+ times unless they are hiding from something.

I find it annoying when people change their name all the time, especially when they are a admin / mod.

This is more about when people change their name to break the rules. We can set the limit to however many, possibly just have a auto kick if they are doing it how ever much a minute or something... IDK lol.

No, this isn't possible with what Valve has made available. There's no way to tell when the last name change occurred and the tenth unless they all occurred on an xG server.

Maybe just restrict name changing in servers, so someone can't freekill and leave with a different name. If they freekill and leave we will know who it was. ( It will kick name changers and record their previous name in the ban disconnected players)

Ya. Thats what I meant by it lol. What the programs do is change their own name to match someone else's in the current game so it takes longer to punish them, but by the time you figure out whos who, they have changed their name again. This occurs IN the server, most of the time they dont leave and then rejoin because then we can see their steam id in the "ban disconnected player" admin menu.

That's not possible either and hasn't been since name changes are set through Steam.

Oh..well I thought it work work similar to our ttt server where it kicks people who change their name mid round.

The scrim server won't allow you to change your name if you do it so many times while in the server.

Don't we already have something like this? I've seen people get banned automatically for changing their name too much on the surf server before..
