1. Please fix your SteamID. It can be found by typing "status" in console while connected to any server. What server(s) do you typically play on? Also not sure if "I want to soooo bad" is a valid reason to join but we'll see lol.
2. Also I'd just add that every single xG member is responsible for representing our community both on and off our servers. Even in the general staff thread thingy it says mods need to be role models. What kind of representative and role model brags about being admin then gets asked about a rule and responds "I 'unno" then proceeds to PM spam everyone? I don't want that to sound harsh but that's basically what I've seen happen time and time again.
3. This is a tricky situation. Typically I encourage people to donate for the sake of donating. The hatpacks, for example, plainly say they're a thank you or a gift for donating. The paid mod and paid admin thing was outright selling the power. Stego I don't see what you did as a donation, I see it as buying powers. Which I'm not saying is good or bad on your part. It was put out on steam to go buy powers and that's what you did. So fine, I've not nothing against paying for powers. But without the respect and support of the community it's going to be a struggle for you. What I think really hurt your character, and something I personally will hold against you, is that you smeared it in everyone's face.... You posted in the chatbox bragging about getting it You publicly announced in game a dozen times on your first day "if anyone needs help i have !admin" now - this was directed at other mods and admins, when there were notibly other mods and admins on You were given (I mean bought) an inch but tried to take a mile "can I accept xg apps" You say you don't know the commands, then it's fine to ask. Not sure why you spammed chatbox with it but that's your choice. No problem with that. But, on that token, here's problems I do have. You admitted to not having an understand of the rules - you have access to the rules as a non-admin so why not look that shit up? Also, you admit to not having the experience - then why jump in? I understand you have to do it to get the experience, but why buy admin and try to jump in and offer to help everyone with your magical admin powers when all you'd do is turn around and ask anyway? Yeah, I've got admin experience, but even with that you wanna know what I did? I sat my ass in spec for 2 days and watched, to see how the existing mods and admins handled situations. You still gotta learn how the community is run and follow the lead of the leaders that came before you and outrank you. That's why your app got so many -1's and that's why we're having this discussion right now. You're a good guy and I'm sure you want the best for the community, but it's been made clear time and time again that you might not be ready for the responsibility of admin. Maybe you haven't abused your powers, and maybe you've only misused them here and there. And of course I understand it takes time to learn. But Stego you just weren't even prepared for this and you just jumped in. As for the money... That original post offered to sell powers did say they could be revoked if you misused them. And, being that you already received your "final warning" prior to that should have been a red flag that you're on a slipperly slope anyway. If you end up losing admin at least you're still supporting the community - even though you don't see it that way. Just a random screeny of some of the bragging that makes you look like a derp in my opinion...
4. Didn't read your whole post but here's a couple responses to your post: Even if not intentional, freeslaying can be interpreted as abuse to the players. I could go on and on about this but I won't. No. You're not a forum moderator. Ban request for impersonation? lol jk jk but really why? Alright so here's my two cents... You had an open mod app which had a lot of -1's so it's obvious some people didn't think you were ready for it. Now, I understand that not everyone will be loved and -1's happen, but I think everyone would agree you had more than average. So, you bought admin, so now you got some weight and rank to throw around - doesn't mean the community respects you. And I don't really have proof of this but it's been my experience: Before he even donated he bragged in chatbox about getting admin. This isn't really abuse in any way but it's bad PR. Everytime I've played with him he needs to ask about everything. And this isn't simple learning questions being asked. Players have asked questions about standard motd rules and he has blatantly said "i don't know" - How can someone enforce the rules if they don't understand them? I have no proof on any of this unfortunately. I would +1 this all day long but we do need proof guys even though we've all seen it we need to pool our evidence. GO GO GO.

Community closing?

They pay for a single server box. They can run one game server on it or fifty, the price is the same.

Glitch

I understand what you said. I was just using the banner room as an example of places people spawn even on the first round of a new map.
7. McNeo

Glitch

Sometimes that happens at the beginning of the map too, like you'll spawn in the hidden banner room thingy with no way out. It just happens. Maybe something Silence can look at but I'm pretty sure chances are it's just something we all have to live with as it just happens from time to time.
8. Actually the only thing he said outside the highlight was freekiller, and said "retarded" not directed at you. As far as calling you a "faggot" and not a "homo" I guess I'm "sorry" that my "summarization" of the your "conversation" didn't include direct "quotes". I still say -1 because this happens to everyone. He didn't go off on a flame war and he didn't spam it. He was upset for all of about 20 seconds.
9. You've got a lot highlighted there but the conversation isn't really that long... Him: Some home freekilled You: You moved, sorry Him: Homo That's gonna happen and I've played with yolo plenty to know he's an alright kid. Yeah, he probably moved, but he didnt' really to much of a length to argue. -1

Silence Scammed me

Uuummmmmm you donated 2 weeks before they started the whole paid mod thing.
12. I've tried everything I can think of too. No idea.
13. Here's a handful of ways you can support xG with only a few seconds of your time... Ads If you have ad-blocking extensions installed in your web browser disable it (most will give you an option "for this site only"). Then, when you see ads, middle-click on them, this will open the tabs in the background in a new tab and your browsing will be uninterrupted. Then, whenever convenient, close the tabs. Every time you click an ad xG is listed as the referrer so eventually xG will get some sort of kick-back for that. Networking - Facebook/Twitter @Aegean! and @@serbiansnaga are the Facebook people. I'd love to see screenshots of all the different games on there, links to our youtube, etc. - really liven the place up. Once that happens it will become a great networking and marketing that everyone can share with friends. One Facebook gets a face lift @CookiePrinces will have plenty more fun stuff to link to on Twitter. Raffle Hopefully most of you have seen the raffle I posted. Anyone can do this (who has steam, of course)! Get your kid brother and your annoying neighbor in here, have them make an account, donate $10, then they can disappear until next month for all I care but hopefully they'll stay and check everything out. It's a raffle, who would turn down buying a $10 raffle ticket for the chance to win $50. I'm gonna try to do a monthly raffle if this one works out.

My Two Cents

Permission to speak freely? Ok thanks. @@silence @Aegean! Here's my two cents... To cut costs It's my understanding that xG has one box running multiple servers. In layman's terms that means one computer running multiple different games. So it doesn't matter if xG has one CS:S server or 20, the cost is the same. Now, I've never priced out game servers myself, but are there any cheaper options? Half xG's servers are empty most of the time anyway so what about a less powerful box? Or renting 3 or 4 servers individually? Next. How many domain names do we need? I understand domain names can be relatively inexpensive if purchased at the right time in the right place (as low as $1 a year), but they can get spendy too. On average let's say $10 a year. xenogamers.com makes perfect sense and that's what comes up when you do a Google search... So do we really need to drop money on more domains? I understand it's not much but every bit counts. What about this forum board? Is it on the same server as the games or is it a different server? Is it possible to downgrade the account - less storage space, less monthly bandwidth allotment, etc. (Don't go under what we're using of course, but can we downgrade and still have enough room to wiggle?) Also regarding this forum board, is the license bought and paid for or is it a monthly fee as well? There hundreds if not thousands of free option out there for forum boards. Sure they're not flashy but they work just as well. To raise money If we had a regular pub server I think it would open a lot of doors. We could have weekly contests, high score prizes, xg-vs-public events. Right now the RPG games are great but there's no way of fairly ranking an individual player within those. Try a referral program. "Have your friend donate $10 or more and mention your name and you get ..." PUSH PUSH PUSH networking. Facebook: "If this post gets 100 likes silence will shave his..." Twitter: "First five to share this get pictures of..." (sarcastic examples, but you get the idea). Paid staff? Does xG have any paid staff? Or do you guys need extra help with any back-end stuff or record keeping or whatever? I'll give ya 5 - 10 hours a week if you need something done, kept track of, etc.

20. I wasn't there so I'm not sure what happened but I'd def +1 for unban. Seen you in game a LOT and you know what you're doing. With no previous bans (that I could find in 20 seconds anyway) you should definitely get a second chance and a cookie if your explanation is how it went down. It was @Poncher who banned you so you'll have to wait for him.

Toodles

I like the servers, I like the community, and I like most of the people. I don't expect anything here, this isn't some publicity stunt. I'll stick around the forums and the servers. Wherever you guys decide to stick me I'll do me and work my way up if and when I feel it's appropriate.
22. The problem is that one-time donations of any size can't cover on-going bills. And with new members few and far between you can't count on getting $700 a month from new people who want hats. If all the active members chipped in $5 a month shit should be covered. Shit that would be my smallest bill by far.

24. I suggested this to @@silence but maybe you guys will have input... xG needs something that encourages on-going donations for on-going incentive. Right now everything is pay once, get shit for life. So people pay, get their shit, then play. A former clan I was in did this: $10 donation for one month of "donator" status $30 donation for four months or "donator" status Donator status got you: Access to donator-only forum boards Access to @ chat After 3 consecutive months* of donator status you got: Access to !voteban, !votekick, and !votemap (the server didn't use rockthevote) Access to !playsound - this opened a menu with a list of short funny sounds, one-liners ("thats what she said"), and short song clips. Only one !playsound per person per map was allowed. *If you paid for 3 or more months in advance you still had to wait 3 months time to get these. Most importantly, when you stopped donating the privileges were taken away, and your 3 month counter reset. This encouraged repeat donations and help control things after hours. A mod/admin can't always be there, but if someone likes the server enough to donate for 3+ months then it can usually safely be assumed that they will use !votekick or !voteban appropriately for the good of keeping gameplay fun for all. With hats and trails on xG servers you could mix that in. Say, keep what you have now $15 for one hatpack, but you could include all hatpacks as part of donator status. You could maybe play with other plugins as well. Maybe !days could be limited to donators? Unlock certain !lr's for donators? **Whenever I referred to "donators" I mean people who hold "donator status" as described.
