  4. +1 I have talked to the individual and would like to say that this individual is quite a character of unique and optimistic personality traits and would greatly benefit the xG community. If I could give him a +2 I would, but sadly I cannot. -ERNIE

    [xG] LAN Party?

So although we know most of each other on here I haven't seen any public get-togethers announced or hosted here ever, so with that being said I would like to host one in central illinois over the summer break. I gave this large of a time frame to give you all a heads up. We will be looking at sometime in later May or Mid July when most of you are all out of school I hope :). 1. the price would be about $20-$30 this would include but not limited to.. a. a place to sleep b. a place to setup your computer rig c. meals for the entire overnight (diner, snacks, and breakfast) d. your chance to win the drawing e. a T-shirt 2. the event will prolly cover only one night unless you were all willing to pay double for a 2-night LAN party(post below for comments) 3. I would need help from anyone else willing to help that preferably lives in Illinois 4. Game Suggestions? 5. Need help with donations 6. I have a place selected but any other suggestions in Illinois would be appreciated 7. there will be a design contest on who has the best looking build This is all in the air right now and nothing is finalized just a suggestion so any suggestions please leave below and please fill out if you would attend or not. Regards, -ERNIE

  9. high powered mobile gaming is coming to the market but currently in tablet and smartphone form, this is taking the extra step so to say to bring a mobile gaming device that isn't a PSP or 3DS and opens up a new market and maybe some more jobs and more competitors I give it a thumbs up nice job Nvidia Regards, -ERNIE
  10. Well seeing on how you love Nvidia and wanted to start an argue thread about it, and how you talk down AMD CPUs and GPUs, I would like to inform you that Nvidia does make a CPU and its for a tablet, called the Nvidia Tegra and it isn't half bad but AMD has it out beat and seeing how the tablet world is growing rapidly and AMDs APU technology is ideal for the tablets.... I don't know why I'm wasting my time trying to explain to you that Nvidia makes green labeled overpriced shit that is good for work space environments and Adobe related programs and running one maybe three monitors most, but someone has to convince you otherwise and learn to maybe open your eyes Nvidia aint bad, but they are not the best, the fastest card by far is the 7970 Ghz edition. But back to the topic, the AMD APUs (if you ever heard of them) are CPU+GPU= APU and for a cheaper price, here this may show you what your future tablet will run on fanboy inb4 >rage >comeback >madkid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqlEc5YD66o when you stop crying... AMD Launches Z-60 APU (Hondo) for Windows 8 Tablets When you find a better price and preformance tablet processsor let me know
  11. thats a great build you got going there, although the HDD although it its 950GB it doesn't mean that it has a fast spin rate, when you look at the HDD you should make sure that it has a spin rate of at least 7200rpm so that games load faster overall, the RAM also can be at a slower speed, i would suggest it at least remains at 1333Mhz at the minimum and the power supply should be an 80+ rated powersupply and the AMD CPUs crank out a lot of heat and I would suggest that you purchase a CPU aftermarket cooler, a decent one will run you about $30-$40 and you can keep the temperature down and you can also overclock if you are interested in that, the video card is a great choice and the case should have some decent airflow also add a fan to the top and have the aftermarket CPU cooler, if you get one, facing up. This will take heat away from your GPU and the CPU Regards, -ERNIE
  12. The iBUYPOWER PCs either work or don't, people are right with going with the new power supply, look into the brand Corsair, OCZ, or Coolermaster. Those brands work great with my experience. On the other hand you shouldn't run into that big of a problem, I'm going to say try using Newegg's review section on the product because the manufacturer is replying to almost all the bad reviews or to people who have had problems. You can upgrade your parts or try to download the latest Video card Drivers and make sure everything is plugged in, but if you wish to seek a performance boost then upgrading your processor is a good idea but you should look into a better power supply than the one that came with the case, the CPU is a 95w 6-core processor and the video card is kind of a power hog as well but also look into an after market CPU cooler ______HERE______ Power Supply 600w $69.99 plus a $10 mail-in-rebate:CORSAIR CX series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Newegg.com CPU: AMD FX-8120 Zambezi 8-Core 3.1 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W FD8120FRGUBOX Desktop Processor - Newegg.com CPU aftermarket cooler $29.99 plus a $5.00 mail-in-reabte: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler Compatible with latest Intel 2011/1366/1155 and AMD FM1/FM2/AM3+ - Newegg.com P.S. Hope you can get the computer running, the new AMD builds sometimes have problems, one of my older builds I couldn't get to post and had a $1000 paper weight for a month while the new parts came in, I feel your pain Regerds, -ERNIE

    Video Card Troubles

The power supply could be the problem, having a 2 rail system which means the power is going through two rails and could be distributing the power unevenly and having a "GREEN" edition prolly isn't the best for a gaming system, and try re-installing your video card drivers from their website, or revert to older ones. and make sure your case is properly ventilated and every cable is properly plugged in, or look up the warranty and see if you can get it fixed for free Regards, -ERNIE
  15. Well I like Newegg (www.newegg.com) more than I did Tigerdirect because some of the prices are lower and they have a 30 anything goes return warranty on everything, and if you are going with a 4-core CPU then I'd go with the AMD 965 X4, it's like $99.99 and paired with say the 7770 which is also a great GPU then you should be fine, also if you go with an AMD CPU solution then either go with the X4 965 or the AMD FX 6300. This CPU (AMD FX 6300) is the best bang for your buck and only $139.99, and if you do go with an AMD CPU then I would suggest a CPU cooler with it (what about your OS?)
