xG Map Suggestions and Corrections

Alright so i'm just making this thread in order to make it easier on the map making team who are currently working on a map for our xG Jailbreak server.

 

Post any errors or things that aren't working in this thread, as well as any suggestions you think would better the map (IE. Placement of vents, other areas (keep them simple-ish, etc).

 

Please use the following format when posting any current bugs or map suggestions! This will make it easier and will make things much more organized:

 

 

Current Bugs:

 

- Floating Medic Station in Death Run

- Objects spinning in the wrong direction in Death Run (Buzzsaw blades, Fan blades)

- Missing 'Ladder' in Pool for 'Dive Contest' diving board, Soccer leading to the top of 'Shot 4 Shot', Vent Cell leading up to Armory

- Vent is Not breakable from Vent Cell to Armory

- Shot 4 Shot doors are broken and will not open

- Object blocking further advancement in Climb

 

 

Suggestions:

 

- Inclusion of a vent in Soccer, preferably one that requires team effort to break (strong vent)

- Inclusion of a Disco area

The map is awesome guys, I love it and I think it offers a lot and should become quite popular.

Would be awesome if these gates could open and close (independently), even if just by walking into them and pushing them. Should be closed at spawn.

Textures under water near climb entrance don't match

I didn't get a screeny of it, but I showed Gkoo, the texture of the floor near the back wall of DR doesn't match. On the top level, where CTs would be, near the water pit.

 

There's a weird ledge inside of S4S

This is amazing. You guys are amazing. This definitely makes the map easier to fix. Checklist. We started to work on it already.

 

Also, couple of suggestions we need.

What should we put in the upper area in bhop?

Rhetorically, if there was a surf. Where would the teleporters be located?

 

 

Oh, and THANKS @autumn FOR GIVING ME ACCESS. Made my life so much easier. *sarcasm*

Finish of surf could be above bhop, with a tele in the area to go to the top. Should incorporate a timer or reset button so CTs don't need to go up there.

 

But I hate surf so don't do it.

 

Make sure you do whatever with the texturing so it doesn't look weird. Like, we shouldn't see floating wedges from the rest of the map, and the rest of the map shouldn't be visible in surf.

If you could find anyone to work on a Disco, that'd be a great place. Could even incorporate the end of surf as Well as disco, that area is freaking huge

Anyone willing to work on a disco would be extremely helpful. If anyone does, don't worry about textures or walls, just make a dance floor and some kickass songs with buttons (at least half must be classic rock)

I have a disco started, it would only take me a few hours to finish. I'll take suggestions for songs if I'm the one working on it.

I suggest that there should be at least 1 cell with a tele so we can have more rebelling routes, even though some people try to cut the rebelling chances :P

I unsuggest Nub1234's suggestion.

 

I think the cell opener button should be located closer to the cells and the ground. Currently, if I open the cells, I have to jump down to get in front of them quickly, and that causes fall damage. Why not relocate the cell opener to the side of the cells near the ground?
