R.i.p Steam Account 2012-2013

Recommended Posts

So I've been snooping around, and I'm extremely confused.

I downloaded the site using wget, and I only get this:

><html>
<head>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" CONTENT="0; URL=http://steamcommunity.com/">
</head>
</html>

Which is weird since that just redirects to the real Steam site, so I'm confused. Either it was taken down by Valve or Steam in the past few days, or Daddio is high. The link seems safe though, nothing is downloaded to your browser as of posting this nor any js is processed.

The problem is not accessing the website (http://steamconmunuity.com/profiles/73511132175584387/) it's if you try and enter your username and password to try and log in. It's a fake copy cat steam page meant to capture login details.

I'm surprised how well made and convincing these websites are becoming.

You serious? It's easy as hell lol.

Go to steamcommunity.com

Right click, save page as...

Upload to site and replace the Login function to write the username and password to a text file or w/e.

his point wasn't how they look almost identical though, his point was that there is no way daddio could fall for it since it refreshes to the regular steamcommunity, however it DOES when you click add friend or log in, redirect to THEIR login not steams login.

it's really easy to not get scammed on the internet anymore.

1. Take your router

2. Apply Gasoline

3. Lighter.

(side effects of this process are an odd smell and free heat!)

but i seriously feel for you bro, I reported your old account for Phishing and if you don't get your old account back, at least we'll get the guy for his shenanigans.

hit me up on CS:GO sometime and i'll throw you some skins and cases to get you started again.

when you press add friend it redirects you to this: Steam Community to log in. it is still steamconmunuity

Ah gotcha, well the malicious js is coming from here: http://gam1ng.ru/system/f/js/gam1ng/login.js

If someone's feeling malicious, get a POST flooder and hit them against their files.

report this to steam support, this same sorta thing happened to me years ago and I got my account back in like 2 days. Any lost items I do believe CAN be returned. I have heard reports that they have been returned however it is weird how the items have been removed considering you can't trade for 7 days if you log in from a different IP/computer
