Swift 11 Posted June 22, 2014 I dont get it Spain conquered the Philippines in 1521, but in the Spanish-American War (1898) the U.S wanted more territory and they fought over Spain for the Philippines and others, eventually the U.S. did win and was granted the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Guam. The Philippines did get their independence (1946) though, but i was to lazy to add that part of the Filipino gaining the territory back. They all are wearing their flag colors in the comic.
