@eyesofdeath983 I had a room claiming incident a few weeks ago and got on the microphone. The issue was successfully resolved without banning anyone. I was like... "You can't just claim a room and rdm everyone who comes in. You're going to be off this server so quickly it's even funny. That's like mass rdm." The person never did that again, everyone on the server knew the problem was resolved and everything was good without a server ban. It's not about punishing the player, it's about resolving a conflict. This worked better than a server ban because they learned to never do it again and it never happened again.

@eyesofdeath983 If a kid is claiming a room and doesn't how to play banning is kinda harsh. The admin handbook doesn't specify that people who don't know how to play shouldn't just be "banned" for making a mistake.

Auto-Ban Mass Rdmers: Players who have three first damage rdms in a single round, should be automatically banned from the server. Excluding our personal steam accounts and other accounts for used for management purposes.

@eyesofdeath983 I didn't see the keyword "claim" on the handbook for the issue of claiming rooms. This is normally a 2 week ban, but if moderators want to be nice, they can warn "kids" who don't know how the play the game.

Add birds from zombie survival. These can fly around the and talk over microphones when they've found a target player. It will resolve the issue of players getting stuck in spectator for minutes due to a bad brood.

Merging swarm haste & leap as one swarm update : Should I do that? Add Sorting Algorithm to RDM logs : merge damage lines by the same attacker and defender. (less console flooding) Water drowning code needed which costs a lot of CPU usage cycles. To be delayed until further improvements are made to perf. These need to be merged with the morbus gamemode so clients can toggle them off. I am still looking for these on workshop, github etc. If someone has a link, it would speed up the process tremendously.

@eyesofdeath983 Noted. N-Word management needs revised. What I've been doing is looking for the connation. for example "n i g g a" is not nearly as concerning as the proper "er" forum as it's made less offensive. It's a problem when 'er' is being abused on microphones or chat to the point where it gets offensive. My procedure for full connation and repeated usage has been warn ("stop using that word"), then kick. Gag/Mute if they come back. Ban for 3 days if they avoid the Gag/Mute or do it again the following map. Pretty much forcing the client to stop and making them disappear if they dodge the silence. The goal is to prevent people from getting offended. And to ensure trolls don't get the satisfaction of a negative reaction to feed their enjoyment. p.s. There was someone spoon-feeding the word to a 8 to 12 year old the other day aswell.

Can you do it at a later time though, if TTT get's a division manager to run it? Just wondering if that server should be primed and rules setup with the assumption that will happen in the future.

And @Rhododendron any response about those tags? really need them to be organized. They were there in the past before getting removed.

@eyesofdeath983 I just had a chance to read over the edited admin handbook. Looks good expect for two things. The protocol for ghosting is harsh. There should be a clause added to handle this is a more pro-resolution based manor; especially, if the client doesn't have any rdms or is new to the server and/or the gamemode. I don't think it's harsh if the client has RDMs from it though. It doesn't mention anything about meta-gaming ether. Something needs drafted up for that. I recommend pro-resolution ie. trying to get the client to stop it. And banning as a last resort.

A few things need to happen to get the gmod division organized. Phase One I require full access to the "Garry's Mod" Main channel on teamspeak. Contact myself over steam if required. This includes being able to create sub channels as required. "TTT" and "Morbus" tags need to be added to the Garry's Mod forums @Rhododendron Afterwards, @eyesofdeath983 if you could sort out these forums that would be great. The translator is not accurate enough sadly and my friend has changed his mind about coming on the forums. Here's what's going to happen. Your permanent ban is going to be reduced to a permanent silence so you can access the server but cannot use commander. If you continue to Team Stack on Team Consortium, I will put the permanent ban back on and will not be removing it. My concern is that games for everyone on the server don't get degraded or ruined because of one person. I don't think I can effectively communicate the negative impact of team stacking because of this language barrier. All I can say is that is ruin games for everyone on the server. I do not create server bans to punish people. I create them to prevent games from getting ruined. It can be extremely difficult to tell if someone is playing poorly or trolling sometimes. However, the evidence was clear you were intentionally ruining the game for everyone on the server. Using the excuse that other people do it is horrible and you should be ashamed of yourself. Constantly stacking on Team Consortium because they have better weapons is not fair. The process of stacking creates additional imbalances which negatively impact the game for everyone else on the server. Furthermore, it's also not fair to the additional people who are balanced onto Team Empire because of you. Lastly, if everyone did this, it would make the game physically unplayable as nobody would be left on Empire.

Thanks for creating a ban protest! I prefer to resolve issues instead of keeping bans activate. 1. What is your primary Language? And could you please post BOTH that AND the translated English version? 2. You have a 90% play ratio on Team Consortium. This means you are constantly try to 'Team Stack' which negative impacts the experience for everyone on the server. Players who have a legitimate purpose for doing this like wanting to play with a friend are usually ignored. However, there is a problem when players constantly do this selfish reasons and strain the quality of hundreds of server games. The easiest way to explain this in relationship to real life, is someone who thinks are above everyone else and not subject to any "Rule of Law". 3. Your skill level is way too high to be concerned a notice (or new) player. There is no reason for someone who has almost 5.5 days of playtime to not understand the basics of commanding. It was clearly perceived by myself that you were "trolling" as Empire Commander when the issue on the "Nuclear Forest" map happened. Resources were being spent and sold (at a loss) on tons of consumable items with the purposeful intention of accelerating the ending of the game. Since you were trying to 'Team Stack" previously and have a past record of doing this; it was later perceived you were ruining the game for everyone on the server, because team balance didn't permit you to "Team Stack" on team Consortium that match.

The client doesn't seem to have any further comments for this ban protest. It's a shame as it would have worked in their benefit. I have gone ahead and reduced the duration on both bans to two weeks from the starting dates. Mass RDMing is normally a permeable offensive, so consider this a friendly reminder not to attempt it again. Players are fully obligated not to ignore the server rules; which, are plastered on the loading screen, motd, in the help menus and shown via direct notification when rdming. ~Threads Closed~

Something is better than nothing. I'm too busy to implement anything other than TTT. All I can do is launch and maintain the server plus forum stuff. Constant moderation and population is too time consuming. If people want it, it might be possible to launch in February. (if there's a four core managed linux vds in Chicago on a e5-2697v3 and moderators waiting)

There's Morbus on GMOD, which is getting loads of nightly population. Just because it's not triple A-A-A like TTT, Darkrp, Prop Hunt etc. doesn't mean it's not a good gamemode. Pretty much every GMOD server requires constant staff to deal with various things. The massive amount of servers means endless jumping for trolls. (which by definition is someone who's goal is achieve a negative reaction, in-order to feed personal enjoyment) Moderation in particular is a pretty complicated concept; especially, if you're using pro-resolution strategies instead of just banning and slaying everyone. In my opinion, very few people are good Moderators to start with.

You do meet the minimum age requirement. +1 I've seen him around on the Morbus server. Active and Mature. Please wait until the last couple of the days of January before reapplying for moderator. You haven't been on the server enough for that decision to be made. And if you do reapply, make sure to list all your qualifications and what would make you a good moderator. I have high standards for Gary's Mod moderators and they usually start off muting mic spammers.

If anything gets brought back next it will be TTT. It's sitting ready with only a couple tweaks required. But two things need to happen for TTT to be launched. Moderation and Population: It needs people to populate and moderate it. Current gmod staff is busy with Morbus. (about to shoot an 85th percentile) New Hosting: The load on the main hosting is too high. A separate VDS needs activated.
