Music, gameplay, story, concepts, characters, graphics (not need to be over the top), bosses, fight sequence, scenes, enemies, and character soul are all needed to make a great game. (I make rpg's when i have the time so)

i am also in the making of one so i understand what you mean by all of that. The only problem i always have is in the story. Everything I've got down, just that i can only make an idea of the story, i am terrible at the pacing and timeline. I tend to jump all around when i have an idea. Do you have any tips for me on that?

Only thing i can suggest is try creating your story line and concepts first and then add or change from there. do u want to make a direct sequel something completely new a game that happens in a different dimension, or time. sometimes i like to make games that happen in the future or past of an official game (like a fanfiction in video game format) but i never present it to the public for practice.
