posting in here to toplel on @Hidingmaster why not just make this "crack down" apply to everyone. obviously not perm everyone for bm, they can get it, but make an official announcement that we are cracking down on it, sticky it in the news, blah blah blah. no more quarrels about not warning people. if you're tired of 5 cases this week, you should see the amount of stuff others just deal with on their own before it goes massive shit storm.

It would have to be pretty damn convincing numbers to get a different thing started when we need to focus on what we already have, also the way it would work is that you would have to front it and it would have to actually be popular, then we would fund it.

Why are all the new people who were nowhere near old xg times telling us how to get back to it? I get it no segregation blah blah blah. but you guys are speaking as if you know how it was back in the time of aegean when you weren't there at all. The number 1 thing we need to do is have members populate the servers, you guys are on the forums all the time, and shitposting everywhere, but you expect the staff to all populate the server and dont want to do it yourself. there is a boat load of you tf2 guys here, and a lot of you were in teamspeak/shoutbox/recent posts yesterday. but the tf2 servers had a total of 16 people across all the servers. 7 was the peak on pokemon trade. Everyone needs to just play the damn servers. invite friends, and have a good time, not be such dicks to eachother, and not try to get everyone banned over 1 freekill or a few bm comments.

For the time being, we actually removed the jailbreak server. we are using it to test out a super secret project, and if it works well, should drive population which will allow us to get a 3rd server that we can throw everything we had from JB back up.

surf can maybe come after population, i would love to re-make the surf server i had before. but first is the super secret project.

well, to be fair i was singling you out, as you are me, i hope you don't take offense to this, as it was more to present a broad example since the same things are done that I and others have witnessed by a large portion. But to clear this up before a shit storm ensues further, what I am saying using that as an example is how there is an eerie drizzle of dedication in that several people have great ideas that may "save" css and in turn potentially turn the whole community in the right direction, but at this point, unless that drizzle gets more legitimate dedication and people actually trying to get it to what it has to be (a downpour) then it will not and will never work. basically until the real dedication starts (more than a handful of people actually inviting and playing to populate) there will be no real population, only these short bursts of 10-15 people. we could get more variety of people for 10 mans than we can jailbreak players.

Just putting it out there, no css current or old as of 3-4 promo demos STARTED to try populating servers. No I didnt start populating servers as of recent either. I also never claimed I did. Nor did I ever say I was active. I'm not being a hypocrite. Im being honest and going off of facts. Yes I'm calling you and every other staff member of Css out. And all the people that posted in that thread saying keep css. I may be beating a dead horse with this, but when I quoted megarobin saying "if it works I'll start populating jailbreak" it very well applies to everyone. The people I have seen try populating are people like bonk and other randoms. I say randoms as in people not staff. They join the server first. They stick around til it is only them left. They invite people off their friends list. While you say you actively populate (you being all staff and people in the threads, forest included) if anyone checks sourcebans they can see you joining much after population is established. Leaving before everyone else, or jump on the server and see you in spec the whole 30-45 minutes spent on the server. That's not dedication. That's trying to avoid an inactivity demotion by saying logs have you on the server. Sorry if it sounds like I am singling you out, but you're not the only person I am calling out in this post cookie. Again still on phone. Leaving school and putting a more detailed response soon.

I agree the idea that the members need to be involved. He'll even the staff need involved. You look at the revive css thread and you can say it's great some people still want Css around, but then complain about the cynical me saying it won't work. But go back nobody who posted in there has tried to start populating they only join after it is populated and are typically the first out or afk the whole time. Sorry if doesn't make sense. Hard to post on phone will write big and more detailed response when home as well as some of the work for bleeds super secret project.

the idea of the challenge as aegean said is that its so incredibly stupid and embarrassing that nobody would want to do it when they could easily just give 20 bucks. it has to be an increasingly embarrassing challenge, not just change to a stupid song.
