I'm not sure if this falls into a legal issue, a moral issue, both, or neither... Looking for your input on this, and if you have any experience or resources that would be great.

I started my new job today.

They are REQUIRING me to...

Set up work email on my PERSONAL cell phone.

Apply a password to my PERSONAL cell phone.

Install their server-managed anti-virus to my PERSONAL cell phone.

Add my PERSONAL home computer to their domain. This results in:

- They have remote access to my computer.

- They will install their server-managed anti-virus.

- They can enforce password policies.

The reimburse $30/month for my personal cell phone bill, and up to $50 a month for my personal internet bill - But does that give them the right to tell me what I have to do with my PERSONAL cell phone and computer?

Of course I won't take the reimbursements if I don't do these things - that's probably how they con you into doing these things.

Do they have the right to require these things on my PERSONAL devices?

Can I refuse to do this stuff without threat of losing my job?

As far as I'm concerned, if they want me to work from home, they should provide the tools (phone, computer) to do so, right?

And even if they were expecting more people, they don't have the right to leave an entire building insecure. Not only that, but it's also a fire hazard, it's an external door in a stairwell that needs to be closed to prevent oxygen from fueling a potential fire. On top of that, if I didn't close the door, I could have been evicted for breaking my lease - since I was the last one through the door it's my responsibility to close it.

You could use a Linux LiveCD or LiveUSB like Silence is suggesting, but that requires that you rreboot the computer and boot form the external media (which may be locked out so you cant).

I've only really seen you in the past week or, so it's very possible I simply haven't noticed you (which could be a good thing to be off the radar).

Anyway, you're a great player and fun to play with, but I have noticed is that while you warden there are a number of rules you are fuzzy on - wait times, freeze definitions, lr activities, etc.

I'm giving you a +1 because I you deserve a to be in, you're active and respectful - I just think you need to brush up on the rules but I don't think that should hinder you from membership as long as it doesn't cause an issue.

Duke is right, tinychat is not in xG. However, it is public, and we should still represent ourselves appropriately. I no longer put the Tinychat links on our FB, though I wish could, because first-timers shouldn't be submitted to the typically ass-hattery that goes on in there. xG server or not, you're still representing us in tinychat.

Unfortunately copy-pasta text is flimsy proof, it can easily be editted, etc. Take screenshots next time. @@serbiansnaga @@Neo What are your guys opinions on enforcing some basic rules when representing us publicly?

As far as whatever happened in game, you only have 2 screenshots. The makes it hard to draw out a time line of what all actually happened. Telling an admin to "do your job" will put most of us on edge at times. Especially if he just joined he's probably trying to figure what the hell is going on, and spamming him doesn't help.

Really strange seeing people go. And no one should ever use the excuse of "The Old ___" you make it what it is. If you are leaving, then you have no part in what said thing may be now, and you obviously were not that good if you couldn't make an impact on the community as a whole. Plain and simple, if you miss something about a said thing, do something to bring back the memories, instead of moping around and eventually quitting like a little crybaby.
