  2. Temple is on the Morbus server currently with no known issues. #GraveDigging

  4. Sorry @flyingcanada2 for the late response, my name just got tagged on the forums today. The reason for the confusion here is because @Rhododendron still hasn't setup the "GMOD Section" on our forums yet. The Morbus server (which nobody knows about) has been populated on a frequent basis for the last month. I am the Garry's Mod division leader and the staff list is outdated. This is an active guy on our Morbus server which is mature and knows how to play the game.
  5. An Asus VG248QE would be a good option assuming 24 inches is big enough for you. The things would stand out are high contrast ratio, led backlight and 1ms response time. Most games should be able to hold 144fps with your gtx 980; but, some more complex ones might fall slightly short.

    Windows 10?

Windows 10 is better in every way than Windows 7. I've been using it for quite a few months now on my personal computer and laptop with no issues. If your games ran like a potato, you likely forgot to run Windows Updates and to update your video card drivers. Both AMD and Nvidia have video drivers on their websites. Usually when you first install/upgrade Windows, it comes with a generic video driver and very few pre-installed updates.

    Useless Reports.

Yeah the right side the bar alerts forum moderators that something is on the left side. So I went to the left side and somebody reported they no longer drink tea! If there was an offensive post, it would take longer to be removed because of a tea party.
  8. It looks like this protester doesn't care about this ban very much. I set it to automatically expire April 7th, 2016 at 9:22am. This is a one-time thing which won't happen again for cheating. I'll keep this thread open for awhile longer in-case @clamdragon3 want's to reply back for an earlier removal.
  9. Reference Link: Xeno Gamers Using things which give you an advantage over other players is not allowed. Please post back when you've disabled this speed click software.
  10. None of our GMOD servers are functional currently. No such thing as walking dead RP. Wrong clan. ~Thread Closed~
  11. Feel free to message me on steam if you can't get it to work. It's likely a user input issue as I've been using this method successfully for over a year now. Edit: I just fixed an issue today with an infinite crash loop. There was an missing binary, but that wouldn't have appeared if you never made it into loading from the lobby.
  12. @Rhododendron hasn't added it for some reason. But there is a thread which is pinned and says important for no reason. #Sarcasm Important: Server Info One step at a time. I think the next step is people actually using the server and asking if they don't know how. At the end of the day, if people would rather play on official dedicated with half the tick-rate, double the ping, non-stop griefers and bugs/exploits etc... Who cares if we have a 16 slot server? And why should I take the time to adjust and test the configuration?
  13. This is the keyboard I use for gaming and fast typing. It's of insanely good quality even though it's relatively cheap. I've used it for the last three years with absolutely no issues and wouldn't be surprised if it lasted anther five years. There's no shinny lights or anything but it's very ergonomic. Comfortable, quiet typing Spill-resistant design Sturdy, adjustable tilt legs Logitech Desktop MK120 (Nordic) The mouse with it is only 1000 dpi though and I don't like not having the side buttons. But at the same time, those heavier wireless mouses are so annoying it's not even funny. And having to replace a battery at random times creates a huge annoyance.
  14. Why on earth would you need to press more than four-five keys at once? And do you realize you have to restart your computer when changing a PS/2 keyboard? Unlike USB which is hotswappable and can be plugged/unplugged on the fly, without having to worry about damaging the end. Those are standard in pretty much any good keyboard nowadays.
  15. Yeah l4d2 is piled with greifers, so the tools on that server for handling them are pretty strong. The largest upcoming sourcebans/sourcecomms build will have about 15 pull requests of code contributions from myself.
  16. I missed diescrapper last night and have added that right now. The entire collection is now around 750mb and you get five, 1000+ five star rated maps. Collection: Steam Workshop :: xG Maps Collection
  17. Blood Proof and Ravenholm has been added to the map collection and server! Collection: Steam Workshop :: xG Maps Collection Every single map is currently five started by at least 1000 ratings to ensure it's worth playing and downloading for all clients.
  18. People won't be willing to download a gigabyte of files and wait forever for syncing just to play a single map. Same deal with custom gametypes. I am currently investigating a few five star campaigns from that map collection.
  19. The xG L4D2 server is back up. See instructions here for usage. Important: Server Info Subscribe to the workshop collection for more map choices. Steam Workshop :: xG Maps Collection
  20. You could download the version of Windows off (pirate bay with no preactivation), put in your CD key then activate it legitimately. Ether that or borrow a CD from a friend and put in your product key. There really isn't any other way do it because Microsoft is so controlled it's not even funny. I like the piratebay method better because you can use Power ISO to burn it to a USB key for faster installation. Microsoft finally caught on for Windows 10 to distribute via usb.
  21. Using a dual boot to have both Windows and Linux installed is an option as well. All you need is two partitions and to install Windows first.
  22. For 1080p a i7-4790k ($340) with a gtx 970 ($300) is the best combination currently. This is a 8 to 10 year combo without having to buy any upgrades. The i7 4790k is 11% stronger per core than the i5-4690k. It also has 8 threads which allows much more processing power on games to be used down the road. This will measure gaming performance a lot better for the cpu. PassMark CPU Benchmarks - Single Thread Performance And the GPU here. PassMark Software - Video Card (GPU) Benchmarks - High End Video Cards The amd fx 8350 ($165) with a gtx 750 ($150) is better for people don't play a lot of complex games or need something cheaper.
  23. There's a such thing as piratebay. Download, create USB image and install.
  24. Wanna see what my i7 looks like? It's 2.2ghz with 4 cores. What would the i5 on the benchmark have? Likely 3.6ghz. Can you compare 2.2ghz to 3.6ghz? No you cannot because the performance will varry by up to 30% depending on the architecture used. (Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell, Broadwell etc) I can tell you're making an un-informed argument without even knowing this really basic information. Again one of those people who fall for the brand name instead of the performance. Which is quite common, becuase Intel spends a lot of money to make that happen. And congrats, you just benchmarked the game engine which far cry uses, which supports gpu abit more. The thing is, you can still play a game like farcry on low 1080p with a new weak video card, but you cannot do it with a weak CPU. If you cut off 75% of someones lung they will still breath. But if cut off part of their brain, they will die. The CPU is essentially the brain whereas the video card is the lung. The CPU will start to fade fps instead of cutting out suddenly, but that's completely beside the point. I bet you do not know this either. The CPU has 4 cores and the GPU only has 1 core. The amount of work which the GPU has to do is significantly less important than the CPU. The GPU is all peperating the image for the screen; wetheir it's AA (Anti-Alising) to round off those square effect from pixels or having to do more pixels because someone is benchmarking 1440p instead of 1080p which computer monitors use. Lets take this AA (Anti-Alising) one step further, because you expressed interest in your last post. The higher the resolution, the less AA you need. This is becuase pixels becomes signicatly smaller and it's alot harder to see that everything is built from squares. The new apple iphone has 1080p resolutions which is the same as your computer monitor. They don't even need more than micro amounts of AA becuase you still couldn't see the pixels are square with overpowered eye glasses. The contrast in the actual screen sizes is so damn large, it's not even funny. The people making those benchmarks usually decide to keep AA the same and measure fps which doesn't always give a true reflection; Nor does the whole 1440p thing give a proper representation as almost every damn computer monitor in 2015 is 1080p. Without the CPU there would be nothing for the GPU to prepare for display on the screen. The first computer actually had no graphics on the screen other than font; Or when you write your first computer program it will displaying "Hello World" on the screen. This demonstrates the concept having solid brain a lot more important. CPUs are bound to last 10 to 15 years. If you get a good one (i7), you won't need to replace it as soon. (the cpu is going to become too weak before it dies) I cannot say the same for video cards because mine (like many others) died after 5 years of frequent use. AMD 4850 which has manufactured near the end of 2008 and five years later held 60-80fps on all low 720p with newer complex games. It only costed about $150 back when I bought it. The ranking system back then rated this is a weaker level 8, with stronger level 9's still available. But today's video cards are pretty much just optimized for higher resolutions and more AA. To conclude, anyone who says having a full lung instead of a having a good brain is most important, they are absolutely wrong. While the having the right amount of horsepower for your screen (video card) may be required, you should always invest in a solid brain. (CPU) The brain (CPU) is something you never want to replace, but you can always do a transplant for a lung. (GPU)
  25. It's only 30 feet and no it doesn't have redmere. It's not a fat cable ether.
