  1. Boy, it's a good thing that we no longer have that particular Division am I right? Jk, if it can't even run CS:S it definitely won't run CS:GO. Take it easy m8, but don't sink a stupid amount of money on a new [gaming] laptop since they usually only have a good run of 3-4 years at the most.
  2. Is now a beautiful butterfly as opposed to a toxic caterpillar. Seriously though, Rabid used to be the local shit-disturber back in the day. There were multiple times in which he would have instigated an argument/fight or provoke Players/Members with his "toxic" attitude, but up until now that side of him has all but [almost] completely dissolved. That being said, this is only from what I've gathered from his recent behaviour on forums. Up to this point he has refrained from slandering/bashing on other users of the Forum which is a large step in the right direction and has made a monumental change for the better. A: N/A - I can't justify giving an activity rating as I typically would rate depending on the amount of time I would personally see someone on the Server(s). That being said, because I haven't been active at all on the Server(s) and because I don't feel right basing it off of a number from the rank.xenogamers.com page, I won't include one. M: 8/10 - Solid change in maturity. He is far more respectful than he used to be and knows when to be his usual "troll" self; with friends who enjoy his company and know it is just harmless fun. He has also demonstrated that he is capable of understanding and weighs both sides of an argument before stating his own opinion that doesn't single out either side in a way that will exacerbate things. He tries his best to present himself (when situations call for it) in the way that every xG Member should; collected and unbiased. D: +/-0 as I cannot give a valid vouch without providing a number for activity. That being said, if I'm more active on the Server(s) then I'll either edit this post (assuming I can at that point) or quote this post with a change for the Activity rating.
  3. Like in this particular instance? :^)
  4. https://xenogamers.com/threads/36098/page-2 Taking fire, need assistance.
  5. Alright so, since the Xmas Server is now up and running, I can proceed to phase 2 of the xgmas event, namely the week (or so) of daily prizes and general fun: "7 Days of xGmas" 5 [random] prizes, 4 of which will be moderately priced while the 5th is the 'jackpot', will be distributed daily through Holiday Trivia during the duration of this event. Prizes will include CS:GO specific skins/crates with varying rarities. Now, in order for this event to succeed it'll require two major things: 1. Staff Members who can monitor the Server during the "Giveathon" hours of this event. For easier moderating, I think it would be best to have a window of around 3 hours during each day when the event's giveaway prizes will be awarded (one prize every 30 minutes) . The time for these 'Giveathon' hours are still being considered, I'll need feedback from Members of the community for this. If I'm not around, the Staff will also need to take down Steam IDs of the players who won. It would be easier for Staff to co-ordinate this as I do not have the ability to use Admin (all) Chat. 2. People who can donate prizes toward this event. They don't have to be anything substantial as the prizes will include 4 mediocre skins and 1 good skin (probably worth 2-3$). Reason I ask for support is that there will be a total of 35 prizes given away and that could be a big hole in my pocket. The only rule is that there cannot be any duplicate skins given away. That being said, if at all possible, keep the condition of the skins to at least field-tested/minimal wear. Any and all support is greatly appreciated as this is a pretty big event to hold, especially given that I am just a Member and don't hold much power or rank in the Server. I'll post again (or just post a new thread for less clutter) with more details later if enough volunteers have been found. @Snackbar @Chrono @Lithium @Duke @PlaysWithSquirrels @OtherCS:GOPeople If this cannot be done this year, it will be planned for next year, but mark my words: at one point or another, there's going to be an xGmas event. *Note: This is a reminder that this is to promote XenoGamers by having a good time, so with that in mind Staff Members who volunteer to help in this event will not be allowed to answer the trivia questions for prizes.

    12 Days Of Xgmas

Made the following edit to the OP: You may also choose to sing your version. Record it and post it below and you will become eligible to ditch the icon/ward skin to receive a Mystery Chest instead (singing is not required to participate). On top of that, just for singing your song for us to hear, you will receive an icon/ward skin free of charge!
  7. Fiddlesticks one is pretty legit! Dark Candy Fiddle would be awesome though :coffee:

    12 Days Of Xgmas

Feeling festive so I thought of a simple forum game for y'all to participate in. The title pretty much explains it all, but for those of you who have never heard the song "12 Days of Christmas" (on the first day of christmas my true love gave to me, yada yada) I suggest you do so before trying this activity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyMOaROAz9I The rules are simple. Construct your own version of this song, but built around XenoGamers as a whole and post it below. Bonus points for those of you who actually make it rhyme. It must contain the formatting of "On the first/second/etc day of ___, ___ gave to me, a ___". To add some incentive, I'll be giving the one who receives the most "Creative" ratings (if you people decide to collaborate to give one person a bunch of ratings for no reason, I'll just pick the best one in my opinion) a delectable prize. Anyone who does not play League of Legends, this may not apply to you, but you can choose to give the prize to someone else. The prize is an icon or ward skin of the winner's choice from the League of Legends store. You may also choose to sing your version. Record it and post it below and you will become eligible to ditch the icon/ward skin to receive a Mystery Chest instead (singing is not required to participate). On top of that, just for singing your song for us to hear, you will receive an icon/ward skin free of charge! Bonus Round: Another version of 12 days, but based on a game that you really enjoy. i.e. 12 days of Siege-mas for R6 Siege etc. and I will put $10 towards any steam game, or rito points for them. This event will conclude by the end of this week on Friday. Ho Ho Ho, let the festivities begin!
  9. Speaking of Poros; go look up "King Poro" on google images (at your own risk).
  10. No probs, easy to miss when Divisions have differing rules and the like. Though a change like that is a whole 'nother matter that should take place in another thread. That being said, is this thread all but done? Slap on the wrist for whomever needs it and what not? Don't think it should be open any longer if there's nothing left to discuss, those that's entirely up to you guys @Bleed @Snackbar @Chrono @Lithium
  11. More like Crittlesticks, you know what I'm sayin' :coffee:
  12. He requested Elderwood but not Snowday Bard? @PlaysWithSquirrels r u nuts
  13. That all being said, this is all short notice and as such can be bumped to next year if needbe. I just think that XenoGamers should get back into the habit of hosting these seasonal festivities yearly to promote more activity in the community. Would really like the opinion or support of the CS:GO Division to determine whether this can be achieved this season. Better sooner than later so that I can broadcast an announcement via Steam Group to stir the pot and gain more notice for this event.
  14. https://xenogamers.com/threads/36098/ and https://xenogamers.com/threads/36100/ Feeling festive? Me too. Check these threads out!
  15. Totally up to you Higher-Ups. As previously mentioned, if it is made open for the next couple of weeks, I'll look into hosting a festive event with randomly distributed prizes throughout a certain day (or days, but limited prizes for each day). I'm thinking a sort of event that would be in the following format: "14 Days of Festivities" One prize (or 5 prizes, 4 of which being low-price while the 5th is the "jackpot") will be distributed daily at random during the duration of this event. Prizes can vary heavily from credits on the forums, Riot Points, or other redeemable game currency. Prizes will also include CS:GO specific skins/crates with varying rarities. Winners can choose to receive any monetary prizes through PayPal to be spent on anything they desire should they choose to do so. This would occur during a set time window (possibly two to three hours) each day to allow an easier time to moderate and determine winners. Mind you I would need the help and co-ordination from CS:GO Higher-Ups as it wouldn't be possible for me to be on every day. I'll also need help with providing prizes to distribute, otherwise this may cost me quite a bit.

    Xg Secret Santa (read) 18+

Sounds like fun! I'm in. Will try to assist whenever I can so feel free to PM me on forums or on Steam :coffee:
  17. Pretty much. Unless there are other Servers out there that demonstrate some holiday spirit. This is also assuming we have the Server space to do something like this. Also, would it be possible it introduce other plugins such as snowfall and even character models or somethin' for this (only during the time that this Server is up)? If this does go ahead, I can mention it in an upcoming announcement from the Steam Group (which will consist of feedback and other new content people would like to see in the new year) + chip in some money toward prizes and the like for an event.
  18. Christmas Server(s). Can this be a thing for the last couple of weeks? Feeling festive :coffee:
  19. A large chunk of that post was addressing what Mega had brought up. The gun planting comments were in regards to others bringing up gun planting to clarify the typical rules of said rule which is why I said: Like it was previously mentioned, the reason why "baiting" is a slayable/bannable offense is because of the confusion that could arise. We do have a rule in place that baiters will be slain, however there is a side note that states the following:

    Age Requirement

.. It's only easy to obtain "membership" because Division Managers aren't putting their foot down on what is considered a valid vouch as opposed to a "this is the first thing I could come up with to support my +1 even though it has no specific relevance to this particular person and is a very general statement." If you want change, it begins with the Higher-Ups imposing a stricter policy on Member Submissions, as it already should be. Take a look at our Membership Submission Guidelines and you'll notice a handful of things that go unheeded. However, I don't want to put the blame solely on Higher-Ups simply because Members have to do their part in compiling a meaningful vouch that actually pertains to each individual in some way. At this point, it feels like those accepting new applicants are just skimming through and counting the +1s that a particular applicant has before slapping on the "Congratulations, you were able to get into our exclusive clan". Mind you this only applies to those select few and is merely an opinion with no evidence or the like. In the end, the Division Managers/Leaders are the ones who decide who gets in for their respective Divisions. If you have beef with people who are getting into the clan that are immature, then confront your respective Manager/Leader and give them the business. Hell, you have Member Submissions to pull valid evidence from for vouches that were invalid if you need "proof" that they shouldn't even be a Member. It can be just as difficult to get membership as it can be to face (legitimate) expulsion from the clan. Honestly, if you have to go out of your way to actively seek out proof or evidence against someone every day and can't find any, then chances are that this is actually some personal vendetta you have against that individual. If the offending person is as toxic or as obnoxious as someone claims them to be, then it should be an easy task to get evidence. Kicking someone from the clan for no reason other than "we don't like him/her" is by no means a legitimate reason or justified solution and shouldn't even be considered. This is a prime example of someone hung up on their personal vendetta against someone. If you (in general) were to look back at Matsi's protest thread and were to wade through all of the hate and anger, you'll find very valid points that were made to support him. That thread was the first major thread to address his behaviour, and as such the only logical solution would be to issue a publicly stated warning, a cease and desist notice for a lack of better words. Anything further would just be unfair and not justified in the least. Those of you who keep shouting "we aren't being listened to" don't seem to get it; you're blinded by your own values and desires. You're looking through an opaque glass that focuses solely on results as opposed to listening to rationality. Your opinions didn't go unheeded, but just because there is a large group of people against someone, that doesn't mean their condemnations outweigh the right thing to do. Obviously your sheer outrage has been noticed and has resulted in a strike against Matsi's standing, meaning that the next time he is out of turn he will receive a punishment. Isn't that progress? Does that not mean that you were heard? No, instead, in your eyes it just means that because he wasn't out right banned or faced expulsion from the clan, the Higher-Ups didn't listen to you and therefore you aren't entitled to an opinion. Not everything you say or do will result in immediate action, and this applies everywhere. This is why we [should] have level-headed Higher-Ups who try their best to appeal to both sides of an argument. They consider both sides of the argument and determine the best outcome that is fair and just. It isn't easy being someone with that kind of power and responsibility, seriously. As a retired Co-Leader I can attest to that. EDIT: For the sake of salvaging what's left of this thread, it isn't my intention to open up a can of worms. If you want to directly reply to this post, just shoot me a PM or something and I'll be glad to discuss it. Hell, even open up a new thread and discuss it there, that would be fine. I just implore you to not do it here so that this whole "Age Requirement" thing can be discussed properly :coffee:

^ This. Srs though, this thread has me so triggered right now, though that's only because of vouches (y'all who were around back then will know what I'm referring to). Keep in mind that, in the end, it's really up to Silence. If he wants to keep the forums/clan an "adult" based one then no one can really say otherwise. That being said, Hiding is pretty spot on in regards to the whole "more donators" thing. Way I see it, them youngins are always asking for their parent's credit cards, but you need to give em' something in return. Either way, no one should be making any exceptions (for Member Subs of 16-) as it is right now unless the person applying is an ex-Member of the clan. +/-0 to this as I'm indifferent about it all. Things can't get much less mature around here anyways :coffee:
  22. The reason things seem so strange with the way they're set up is because these ranks, the way powers worked, they were all based off of the CS:S Division. Here, I'll give a brief little history lesson: Back when CS:S was the dominant Division, things were much more lax than they were now. When Co-Leaders (not Community Leaders mind you) were still a thing, having a higher rank made you respectable in a different sense and gave you this air of "I can do this to you". Administrators would gag/mute Moderators when they stepped out of line or call votes to mock them, but it was all in good fun. The Moderators didn't mind, there weren't reports of "abuse" because 99.9% of the time the Moderators were in on it too and were totally fine with it. Moderators would gag/mute each other as well to, again, poke fun and have a good time. It's why Co-Leaders were previously able to ban someone for saying "no balls, you won't ban me" and could generally just mess around. This was especially so when we had "fun" commands (there's a neat video of me slapping the shit out of @Warriorsfury out there). Again, it was all in good fun and players would either be banned for a short amount of time (if even) or a ludicrous amount of time and then promptly unbanned. So yes, at this point the "perks" of being an admin are not nearly as influential as they were back then so it makes little sense, but that's just a brief summary of why things are the way they are.
