  1. I don't see the problem here. If a Moderator is seen as "experienced", then why haven't they been promoted to Administrator already? That being said, the gap between Moderator and Administrator is already incredibly slim. From what I can remember, the only difference is the ability to permanently ban and the fact that Moderators cannot target Administrators (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm just speaking from CS:S experience). Point is, if you give Moderators the ability to perm ban then.. Well, they're pretty much Administrators. This is all assuming Administrators don't have other "perks" to their rank. Might as well just merge the two if it's that big of a deal, because besides the whole "seniority" factor, what else sets them apart? Way I see it, y'all are making more work for yourself by making another rank when you aren't even considering the simple solution that those "seasoned" Moderators should just be promoted to Administrator if they're so up there :coffee:

  3. How to Connect a Playstation 2 (PS2) to a Computer Monitor (LCD) This link may be able to help in that case. Basically, it allows you to use the component cables (the yellow/white/red cables) that come with the PS2 to plug into a switch that can then output to say, a VGA cable, which can then be plugged into your laptop to display it on the laptop's screen.
  4. How-to: Gathering Evidence Jokes aside, the CS:GO Division has only just recently gotten back onto its feet so it will be lacking in Staff which should be expected, especially given that a purge of sorts was necessary to weed out inactive Staff Members. Like Snackbar said, the requirements of being a Staff Member make things a little more difficult, but quality is far more favourable over quantity. Keep in mind that Staff, for the most part, represent xG far more than that of an average xG Member, so there are qualities and responsibilities that they need to fulfill. For the most part, when you enter a [clan owned] Server your immediate expectations of that Server are gathered from how those in charge handle rule breakers or other players who negatively influence the Server environment (plus, you know, the cool stuff that the Server has to offer). All that being said, I'm sure it would be easy to recruit almost anyone for a Staff position, but down the road it could lead to potential reports of abuse, misconduct or other issues that xG doesn't need to be associated with. It's bound to happen even with good Staff, but if someone can prevent it or deter it, should they not do so? Would rather the CS:GO Higher-Ups make solid choices in applicants than recruit just anybody; which they have been doing an awesome job in already
  5. Could you elaborate a bit more? Do you want to connect your PS2 to your laptop in order to use your laptop as the screen, or do you want to play your PS2 games on your laptop with a PS2 controller? Both can be done, however you'll most likely need to purchase components that you probably won't have on you first hand. If you want to play your PS2 games on your laptop, then [as previously mentioned] your best bet is to just run an emulator on it. ROMs and emulators are relatively free and easy to find. As for using a PS2 controller on your laptop, you'll have to buy an adapter that will convert the weird ass PS2 plugin to a USB. Though to be perfectly honest, it would be easier to use either a PS3/PS4 or Xbox 360/one controller since all it requires is the usual micro/mini USB to standard USB plugin. 7. Planting a gun on a Terrorist or throwing the gun in the path of a Terrorist is.. Well, gunplanting (just to clarify though I'm sure we're all well aware). Regardless of how much ammo it has, the player is still technically "planting" a gun on a Terrorist. Only reason the rule is in place is to prevent any accidental deaths like Chrono mentioned since scenarios like the following can occur rather easily (assuming they have auto-switch on): >T is facing CTs >CT decides to throw empty gun onto the T >T [automatically] pulls out the gun while facing CTs >T is killed for aiming a gun at the CTs Don't mean to call out whoever it was who told you otherwise, but I don't think it should be permitted under any circumstances. Though this only applies to moments when it's intentional. Even though the CT(s) may be slain, it can really put people off [ especially when they're close to getting LR] if it becomes a common occurrence. Pertaining to the thread, if multiple warnings were given on top of multiple occasions in which the gunplanting/baiting occurred then I think the CT ban was justified. As previously mentioned, typing 'kill' in console is a far better choice as opposed to baiting which may likely result in the death of a T as Mega said.

    Simple Web Games

^ Actually messed around with this for a fair amount of time while at work. Even shared it with some of my co-workers!
  11. Agreed, with the exception that the user who bought it wasn't aware prior to purchasing it that it was a "hot" item. It isn't fair to the user who purchased the item to be interrogated or given the options of either being reported or going back on a deal, especially when the latter may no longer be in their hands. Besides, it's just as likely that the user who bought the item was not aware that the item was "hot" which doesn't justify any threats made against him/her. The scammer could just as easily deny it and refuse to trade back, in which case what could the user who bought the scammed item possibly do? Keep in mind that the user who bought the scammed item (unless proven otherwise with evidence) was not involved in the actual act, and therefore cannot/should not be reported for it. While SteamRep may take scamming seriously, I doubt that they will take action against anyone who bought the item fairly. As far as what's fair to both users (armin and the user who bought the scammed item in question), the only outcome would be trading something of equal value [to the user's item (the Rocket Launcher)] for the scammed item. Don't expect to just get the scammed item back free of charge, especially when the whole ordeal could have been avoided. That being said, I'm not trying to be a bad guy about all this so much as I am just trying to look at it rationally, so I apologize in advance if I come off as that kind of guy.
  12. How-to: Gathering Evidence +/- 0 since no evidence has been provided. It's important to provide evidence or proof in most if not all scenarios when submitting a report/protest. This is to ensure that the request is justified and that the person submitting the report (or the supporters) isn't just making empty claims that never occurred.
  13. Yup. They issue enough warnings and precautionary measures involving trading that they don't have any part of it. In fact, they even have this exact scenario covered in the Trade Scam FAQ:
  14. k. Also, "Thunder Doug" because nostalgia.
  15. I imagine this will be the case for quite a number of Staff/Members for the upcoming holidays. Take it easy m8

    Simple Web Games

I'm bored at work, so lets have a thread of web games that are simple to do. Preferably a game that is based on a specific URL (games from say, Newgrounds or Kongregate don't count). For the last little bit I've been playing this: Kuku Kube which has you progress as far as you can within the time limit. Pretty much just pick the lightest shade of the particular colour that appears and you'll move on.
  17. ^ Agreed for the first image. Personally prefer the second one.
  18. And you call yourself an xG Member. #ShameBell
