I think a better grasp of communication is what is needed.
Tatost, try to keep your eyes/ears open for any messages that staff put out for punishment; Floppy try to ensure that people can see what you're saying.

I am all for people making abuse threads if they think a staff member is out of line, and even if we do find you innocent you could learn something like in this case, you could explain to the people in the server why you did what you did, and possibly copy a quote from the official rules thread. It avoids unnecessary threads and help keep people up on the rules.
However, on the flip side the reporting users should also grab more evidence then they think they should have (IMO) just to be extra clear and obvious that the staff member in question is abusing powers as well as reference the official rules to make sure it isn't just a rarely enforced rule (like this max lr time rule).

I'm actually glad he made the report, so please don't discourage him for making this thread. If a player has an issue, they should bring it forth. We can talk it out and solve the issue.
 
As for the actual abuse, I don't know what to even say. The screenshots just shows us that he slayed you. That doesn't really tell me too much.
@Tatost get more witnesses to reply to this thread for more evidence I suppose.

Yeah, as Supreme said, the map is on the server, just not in rotation. And due to the high amount of policing the map requires by our staff, it's probably best to keep it that way and only play on it when there's active staff online. =(

I completely agree with this. The biggest reason for people to do this is because there is nothing saying its not allowed. therefore nothing can happen to someone that does it. If we add something to the rules that goes along the lines of don't cheat to finish the map, Most will stop doing it, the small portion that continues to do it will simple be punished and it would quickly be eradicated as a whole. In my opinion this is a win-win situation, people would stop doing this with minimum effort and no weapons would have to be banned therefore no one is butthurt. Even if it is not entirely enforced just the fact that people could 'now' be punished for it would be enough for most. It would be enforced as much as spawn killing is or even less it wouldn't totally 'matter'.

Just telling people that they aren't allowed to do something is enough for most people, even if it's not really actually enforced.

You should visit our surf server , cause it change at all ... We have funny people saying random things , telling their life and also being friendly with other.

We are both, if we were just surf we would not have maps with jail, most people attempting to surf but don't get far hang out and just combat because they enjoy the people in the server and just have fun chatting and battling. Taking away those 2 weapons would cause chaos, trust me... We already get complaints about the little things ;p
 
 
Yes they are used for cheating but taking away two main weapons is just not a good idea at all.
Again, I wouldn't make it a heavily enforced rule, just if the power up for that specific map is an extremely big deal if they got it by cheating then yes, action would be taken, most of the maps power ups and extras is just like a small sniping spot or access to music or a few jail buttons.
 
Orbs and the maps I listed, those I see the issue with, but we don't have many of those.

If we had the mappers on hand, yes as it is a map-side feature. In fact certain maps DO have that feature to stop pesky little cheaters, but not all of them. So, essentially we are stuck with the problem of the mappers from times unknown being unavaliable to fix a little exploit with jumper weapons.

Alright, now that I am sober, I can finally give a reply to Egossi being a DM.
 
I'm fine with him being a DM, but at the same time I'm not. He knows his stuff and admins pretty well. Although when he has given me suggestions for rule changes and I disagree with him, he seems to get angry really quick.
For example: About a couple weeks ago he asked why reds weren't allowed to camp and suggested that we should let them camp on Jailbreak. I told him it gave an unfair advantage over other Reds and Blues. Plus LCT can't actually see outlines of the Reds' until LCT is in a certain range.
He got angry and proceeded to say things like "Oh that's dumb" or just called me profane names (which I just assume he is joking with those).
 
I'd like a DM that doesn't act like that when someone disagrees. I'd like one that calmly replies with more reasons to persuade us to reconsider changing the rules.

First off, I am only busy because of drumline/marching band and AP classes combo (thankfully our team sucks this year, so I don't think we will go for a stupid long american football season) which takes up 3 of my weekdays complemented by 3 AP level classes leaves me with constraints for the time being(I have to cram a weeks worth of AP homework into 2 days). However I can still get on often enough to manage what I need to. Thankfully in a couple months give or take when the season ends I will have a vastly more open schedule. I can still maintain a 20 hours a week on the servers and check forums regularly atm, I just won't have time to sit around on servers/TS for hours every day is all.
 
Secondly, Egossi is not someone I think would be well fitted for DM, but it may just be that I am not a huge fan of his personality. Personal problems with him aside, I have seen him address staff problems better since the Caleb incident and he admins fine and all, but something about him rubs just me wrong when I see him in servers. I will remain neutral for now on the topic, but as I said I can keep with with requirements, I just have a lot going on for a little bit.

If he is raiding steam profiles, you could just delete his comments and ignore him, or I think you could block all communication with that user (unsure what that does for profile posts).
