diabeetus 20 Posted May 27, 2015 I know there was a thread for this, but it's old and I don't want to gravedig. Now, I'm not really someone who tends to notice the music behind/during a video game. However, I bought Bloodborne when it came out and started using earbuds instead of just normal speakers (a lot of people on the bloodborne subreddit recommended doing this so I decided to give it a go). As I was facing off against the final boss, I couldn't help but notice the absolutely beautiful piece playing during the fight. This is probably my favorite song from just about any video game ever. Just in case there are people that don't have the game and are planning on buying it, there are boss name spoilers in the title so I'll hide the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V9zxXN1rx0

Forest 309 Posted June 8, 2015 (in no particular order) Shadow of the Colossus http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmoYLtObCtY With a game as simplistic as Shadow of the Colossus, it's nearly impossible not to notice the absolutely breath-taking soundtrack. I cannot tell you how many times I had chills while playing through the game, whether it be from watching a cutscene or just from the absolutely epic songs when you are tackling a colossus. Personal favourite is "The Opened Way". Journey http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3hFN8UrBPw Journey, much like Shadow of the Colossus, is an indie game that while simplistic in nature (you literally only move/jump/"ping") is another work of art. The soundtrack is stunning, and paired with the atmosphere of the game itself just makes for a great experience. I could listen to the OST for Journey all day to be honest. Personal favourite is "I was Born for This". Banjo-Kazooie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5rb1hP66Tc Words cannot describe how much nostalgia the soundtrack for Banjo-Kazooie brings. Although not nearly as elegant or epic as those mentioned earlier, this game's soundtrack is amazing in it's own right. The upbeat music meshes with the game perfectly in a way that is almost guaranteed to bring a smile across your face. It's spontaneous, random, and just overall fun. Personal favourite is "Click-Clock Woods (Spring)". Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCZTtxNkMcI Another classic like Banjo-Kazooie that brings an absurd amount of nostalgia. The mellow and upbeat tunes from LoZ: Ocarina of Time are just so memorable. There isn't much to say about this OST that hasn't been said about Banjo-Kazooie, it's just great. Personal favourite is "Gerudo Valley". I'll just leave it at that for the time being as there are countless games that should be mentioned. These are just the few that came to mind immediately :coffee:
