Hey there, I logged on today to try out Nuclear Dawn and found I was unfortunately banned from XenoGamers. This is news to me, but it looks like I was banned way back on August 27, 2012. I'm guessing it was Counter-Strike Source since I used to play that game a ton a few years ago, but I don't really know.

 

The ban report says it was "cyber terrorism." To be honest I haven't played many games in the past few years since entering college so I don't really remember the details of this incident, but that definitely doesn't sound right. I've always tried to get along with people as best I can and try to make sure everyone is having a good time, not the other way around.

 

The language on the ban report is a little vague, but it looks like I might've been banned because I was a member of the cyanide.ws group? I had to go look them up because it's been so long :) but I think I might know what happened. Cyanide was previously known as Nitrate Gaming. I was involved with Nitrate for several months in 2011 I think? The clan had a falling out after an executive member framed another exec and I left when it disbanded. I vaguely recall being recruited to Cyanide, but I pretty much stopped playing video games after that point so I turned them down. Though I suppose I must've joined the group at some point, I haven't done anything with Cyanide since then.

 

In any case, I'm sorry if I caused anyone harm and would be happy to hear from Starbuck if he remembers exactly what went down. What is the process for getting unbanned? Thanks for your time, and happy holidays.

For reference, the reason provided was "Steam Community Group Ban (cyanidews) Criminal enterprise: Promoting Cyber Terrorism." I wasn't around here in 2012, nor do I have any idea of what group its referring to, but it seems to me like for some reason a large number of people in the steam group were indiscriminately banned (57 people were banned for that exact reason). +1 for unban because it's been 3 years, and it doesn't really seem like a necessary ban anymore.

The steam group was group banned after a member (leader/staff?) of cyanide swatted one of our co-leaders. You must leave the groups nitrate interactive and cyanide.ws. After doing so you will be unbanned.

I looked through some more of my old files to remember what happened. I'm guessing this guy, Quiet Ri0t, instigated your swats. Steam Community :: NOз | Quiet Ri0t (and carried out by Master – Steam Community :: Master) He was the exec who facilitated the corruption within Nitrate and I believe created Cyanide, though he may not be an admin there anymore. There were reports he led swats inside Nitrate while it was active. I seem to recall being confused over how most people inside Nitrate were super nice, yet the clan was not well-liked by other clans. Maybe he was the reason why.

+1 for unban though, nitrate/cyanide has long passed over and even if this is some incredible ruse to bring xG down it should be pretty easy to deal with (that would be funny tho)
