Is this guy still perm'd? Still standing by my last post if he/she is. Should probably determine whether this thread should be closed (denied) or left open for investigation. @Diamonde

I really miss CS:S. :coffee:

Hopefully whomever takes the reins won't let his short lived legacy die; that not every company should put all of their focus into making money but should instead focus on listening intently to their playerbase and fans. He truly was an inspiration :(

I feel like half of the people in here need to (re-)read that thread I made in regards to personal opinion. Getting people to post their opinion without coming back and spouting off why they're right when someone offers their own opinion is like trying to convince the Pope that everything he believes in is wrong. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying you shouldn't reply at all, just that you can do so in a respectful manner. Obviously this doesn't apply to those who are intentionally trying to get a rise out of you. Just ignore those particular replies. In regards to the Ban Protest, my initial thought is "his ban was reduced from a permanent ban already. Why is this even being considered?" But that's just me being my typical "rule nazi" self. Although I would like to point out the fact that one of the few reasons the ban was dealt was for Vector to develop a more "community-friendly attitude that doesn't involve overly-hostile or discriminating remarks". A quick look at his postings from May up until now does show little turbulence (there are a few moments where the attitude and arrogant remarks are seen) but a three month period isn't (in my opinion) enough time to determine whether someone has become more tolerant of others. The biggest thing that's preventing me from giving a 1-up is Vector's attitude, nothing more, nothing less. The guy did a hell of a good job as a Staff Member when enforcing rules; the problem was that he did it in an unprofessional and albeit overly aggressive way. With that said, I'm not saying that every Staff Member is perfect, because there is no way I could know that as I don't play TF2 (let alone our Servers on there). The thing is that they aren't on trial here, so to speak. Now, before anyone begins to get the idea that I'm judging based on what others have said, I'm not. I'm speaking from personal experience. I know Vector comes off incredibly blunt first hand. I would also like to clarify that I do not care what problems Members have with him. I am purely concerned with how his behaviour may affect XenoGamers as a whole. It goes without saying that people will be less inclined to play on a Server with someone who belittles or excessively abuses players; that applies to anyone and everyone who fits that category in general, not just Vector. My only grievance is that Vector has made it clear that he doesn't want to change his ways, but this is only a problem to me because it can directly influence players on the Servers in a negative way. There are certain qualifications that Members (more prominently as a Staff Member) of XenoGamers should keep in mind, but it seems like those qualifications have just degraded and degraded over time. Being in XenoGamers means you represent xG, you stand for what xG symbolizes, for a lack of better words. As poetic as that sounds, it's true. There isn't a reason to belittle some people for not knowing the rules, for asking frivolous questions or for stating their opinion. Obviously this goes hand-in-hand with determining whether someone is just trolling or genuinely asking. I really want to type out a TL;DR, but I won't because I'm pretty drained already. As always, I give a +/- 0 on this Ban Protest. @Vector just, try not to be too arrogant on the Servers bud, that's all I'm asking. Don't drive away potential Members or regulars by being too much of an áss hat. Love you doe ;) Gist of post is in red.

Thanks @TurdWig. It took a lot of time and effort, but I managed to pull through. I just had to kept believing, n'ah mean? Though I believe you will get there some day too.

Is for friends who do stuff together. Like suggest fun ways to give away games. That said fact aside, how many people are in favour of either: A. a 50$ game, plus runner-up prizes of credits on the site or B. 20$ for first prize, 15$ for second, 10$ for third

Not to butt in or anything, it isn't in my place and honestly I only read 3/4 of what was said here (most of it seems to be the same stuff, just reworded) but I feel like y'all are going to crack under all of this. Keep in mind that this is all just personal opinion, so feel free to disregard it if you so choose to. I'm not here to start a debate or argument. I'm not sure what it is with the TF2 Division (not pulling favoritism in Divisions or whatever, so please do not treat it that way) but it seems like the most ludicrous rules seem to float around here. Examples like banning the "lenny face" or just generally trying to put a punishment on trolling that has been sub-categorized to the point of "offenses" blending and meshing together into a mass of "I have no freaking idea on how long I should ban this guy, or even if I should ban this guy." I get that there is this desire to keep the Server(s) clean and inviting to new players, but putting restrictions on things that are incredibly difficult to determine (which is apparent from this thread alone) puts a lot of stress on both Staff and Higher-Ups. The problem that I see here, is that you guys are determining for the players what is/isn't serious. Simply put, you're all so focused on keeping things clean, that you're assuming that everyone is offended to one set thing, in this particular case, "death threats". I understand that "cyber-bullying" has become this new huge intimidating thing that should be prevented, but at the same time you're only offended to what you find offensive. At this point, I'm rambling but I want to stress that not everyone treats a certain message the same way, especially when it is relayed through text on a free to play game. It goes without saying that there are cases in which straight up disrespect just makes the environment toxic (IE. Someone who is excessively cursing at anyone/everyone for no reason at all other than to just cause a shit-storm) and those should be dealt with; but putting bans on cases that some people may find offensive seems like something that will just open up a can of worms. There is a reason we have sections labelled "Ban Request" or "Member Protest". Instead of deciding who is/isn't being offended and teaching people that their problems can be solved by just having others do their work for them; let those who are offended say that they are offended. And that goes hand-in-hand with respecting their opinion(s) as well. This requires you to use your better judgement, rather than blindly banning people left right and centre for saying something that may have had absolutely no effect on whomever it was directed at. Lets be honest, there's no way you can tell if someone is offended by what another person says, unless they say they were, and even then it's difficult to tell if they're telling the truth. But again, use common sense. People cry wolf all the time as well. TL;DR - I suggest not [permanently] banning people based on something that is completely up to personal opinion. What bothers some people, may not bother others at all.

I feel like this can be easily written on paper, but the execution would be complicated. As much as I'd like to promote referrals and advertisement of XenoGamers, it seems like something that may prove to be difficult. The only thing that comes to mind that would make this easy would be throwing this up on FaceBook (IE. Like this post/comment to be entered into a drawing for yada yada) and then giving me the names of those who entered or whatever. With that said, I could also do a different prize/raffle where the prize would be a 50$ game and you would have to donate to enter (minimum of 5$). Runner-up prizes could be credits on the site if that's alright with @Rhododendron

Are you referring to what the suggestion(s) is/are, or are you referring to the prizes? If you're referring to the prize(s), then no, it doesn't have to be. If you have a PayPal, we can work out something where I could just transfer the money wirelessly and you could then do with it as you please. Also, bonus points goes to those who can come up with ideas/suggestions that involve actively getting the community to participate in this.

Speaking of which, we won't be doing a draw or anything so don't bother suggesting it. Reason being that Chrono seems to be able to rig that shiz too damn well.

That depends. Did you come up with a kick-ass banner/graphic? If not, get your lazy ass out of here

______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Seeing as how it's that time of year when Lord Gaben reduces prices on games to near pennies, I figured I would host a Game Giveaway. As many of you have probably guessed from the title of this thread, I'm looking for ideas to determine who gets what. So far I have determined that there will be three prizes: A 20$ game of his/her choice (such wow!) A 15$ game of his/her choice (very money!) A 10$ game of his/her choice (much amaze!) ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now, with this Game Giveaway (Date TBA) I've also been thinking about how I would make this a monthly (maybe) XenoGamers event. So with that said, I will need some sort of banner or graphic to go along with it (something along the lines of XenoGamers Game Giveaway [much like what I did with the XenoGamers Lottery]). To encourage those of you whom are skilled in either photoshop, paint, or whatever, I will be giving the person who creates the best picture/graphic/gif/whatever a shiny new 5$ game of his/her choice! Alright, so without further ado lets get started. Post your thoughts on a fun or unique way in which to get people involved!

Lemons camping hidden area like a puss. Permaban from T for not bum rushing with an AWP. Also, still waiting on CS:GO Servers (@Bleed @Chrono ). I can't take much more playing on other Jailbreak servers, they just can't compare to xG :coffee:
-
I can easily say that 90% of my play time was on xG servers. I know that for a fact because I have more achievements done on CS:GO than I do on CS:S, and CS:GO only has like, 1/5 of the hours I have on CS:S.

Er, when Staff Members ban someone, typically they don't need to take down any sort of evidence or proof (aside from cases that involve hacking/scripting/etc) so long as they witnessed the act. If Staff is lying about what they saw, then they shouldn't be a Moderator/Administrator in the first place. To be fair, it is the responsibility of the accused to provide ample evidence that they are either innocent or that the punishment is too severe. All I've seen from the offending player is them stating that they were unaware of the rules, which doesn't exactly help his/her case; especially when the supposed ban can't be found. With that said; I'm curious to know, did the offending player mass freekill (or mass freekill and disconnect) at any point to warrant the permanent CT ban? Keep in mind that freekilling never (under most circumstances) accumulates to a permanent ban unless it is done simultaneously in one round. At the most, if the freekills were accumulating, the offending player should be CT(blue) banned for up to a week.

@Chrono I'm sure this negro would. Although your name does ring a bell ;)
