    Sgt.Xranth got a reaction from Goblin in Sgt.xranth - Team Fortress 2
    Division:

    Team Fortress 2 In-Game Name:

    Xranth Steam ID:

    STEAM_0:1:40280980 Ban Type:

    Server Ban Information:

    Huh, it's been a while.

Heya, name's Xranth. Does anyone even remember me?

Anyway, I was perma banned a couple of months ago. I acted like an ass to players and staff, argued with some staff, RDM'd a couple of times, dodged a ban with my alt, etc. etc. Yes, i have been banned multiple times in the past. The last ban I received was extended to a perma ban, which currently i still have.

I concede that I got what i deserved, considering my actions were pretty much asking for a ban. My behavior was pretty child-like. I'd like to request a second chance. If I'm barred from CT, I accept, and if I do screw up again, I'll take any punishment i get without protest.

To all those I may have offended/been a jerk to, I apologize. My behavior was horrible back then and i admit it, but I've matured since then. It won't happen again.

    Thank you for your time,
    -Xranth

Plus, if you're gonna unban people like this, it's only fair that I'd have a shot too, lol.

It seems trying to ask for forgiveness was too much. It's obvious that nobody is going to believe that I've matured, no matter how hard I try. If that's the case, then fine.

I retract my ban appeal. Please close the thread. I no longer wished to be unbanned. Consider this my farewell to this community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me. Also, I'd like to again apologize to all those i offended. I know I was toxic back then, and if the majority of you do not want me to come back, I'll just disappear. I do not expect any of you to forgive me, so i hold no hard feelings. See ya.

Seriously, I shouldn't have any say in this at all, except that I had known of Xranth and his actions, and I was younger and more... ignorant at the time. As I don't know all the details of this, and I don't have to, I'm going to say that he should get another chance, even if he may seem a little bad now. All opinions aside, it's known that he has been permed and that is a natural "what the heck happened jeez" sort of event. If what he says will happen, than I say go for it and unban him. +1

While he does seem genuinely repentant in what he has done, it doesn't excuse the fact that he had (supposedly) broken a multitude of rules. However, be that as it may, if these instances of rule breaking revolve around him being on the Blue side, then I don't see why the permanent Server Ban being lifted isn't being considered at the least while the team ban remains effective.

Though, even provided the aforementioned information, it may be completely irrelevant as it's somewhat apparent that the main reason he's Server banned is his attitude/behaviour, which I personally cannot vouch for or against as I am not familiar with the whole ordeal.

That all being said, it should be noted that the player is trying their best to plead their case here. Whether or not it's genuine is a whole other story, but it's unfair to completely rule out the possibility that he has in fact changed. The replies have been nothing but civilized and respectful from him and I don't see why he is being treated so poorly in this Ban Protest, even given his past history. Troll or not, the worst that can happen if he is unbanned (Server, not Team) is that he will harass people again, in which case all you would have to do is permanently ban him from the Servers again and be done with it once and for all. At this point, it really just looks like Staff are hung up on his past actions and refuse to give a second chance because of some personal vendetta.

@Sgt.Xranth while it may be similar to the Ban Protest you linked in your original post, the context of the bans are no where near the same. On one hand, the other player mass freekilled and fled (with no history [that I'm aware of] in terms of general attitude/behaviour) while you have been accused of denying LR and mass freekilling afterwards; abusing hide and seek mid round; disrespect; evading a ban with alternate accounts; and other counts of general rule breaking. Some people are more likely to receive a second chance depending on their history with Xeno Gamers, while others aren't so lucky (though I honestly don't condone unbanning those who intentionally mass freekill to begin with).

Mind you, this is all just personal opinion from a neutral party who has nothing to go on besides the information provided from threads that relate to this player and his ban history. I do not play in the TF2 Division, and with that being said I won't leave a vouch on whether or not the player should remain Server/Team banned. I'll only provide my input and opinion on the whole situation, as I do with other threads before this one and hope that Staff take a careful consideration to both sides without any sort of biased nature.

Ok well. This is the last thing I'm gonna say here, going off of what Spook said, no matter what Xranth could say for himself, or what I could say on behalf of Xranth, how would anyone really know if hes improved or not? Meaning exactly what Spook said, bring him back, keep him banned from ct or something, and have him on thin ice, he screws up then he's done. How else can we ACTUALLY know if hes improved or not? In this case that would seem like the best decision since hes been out of contact for so long, right? Not trying to sound snarky, just my two cents.

Hm.. I'm really not sure what to say exactly. You have been "that guy" one times too many Xranth. I've even tried to help you stay out of trouble in the past. But going back to what KB said, people can't really change that quick. You tried to pull that on me once as well, saying you'll change the way how you were. Although, I can't judge you so quickly, so I'm going to stay neutral.

I'm just going to put this out there from what I've read due to the comments here and what little i remember about you. People can always say they change, doesn't mean they do. In my opinion You were a major trash talker talked a lot of smack and ran your mouth to multiple staff. However We've all had a fair share of shooting the trash talk around the bin. Also Real life always matters when it comes to whats here on the community TF2 CS:GO or whatever. How you act in real and things that happen can effect how you are on servers with others. If you shouldn't be put in a public place with a bunch of midgets because you'll make fun of them all. Then you shouldn't be put in a public place full of midgets. Its that simple Its like taking someone who has an issue with kids and putting them on a server full of them. OR someone who hates rules and joins a server full of strict rules that person isn't just gonna change for that server. because that person is who that person is. Ohstopyou has a point and you shouldn't be let back on to the servers. A lot of people in this community shouldn't have after the perm bans they were served but they manage to get in. Way I see it we let ya back on the servers. You'll be on thin ice however You screw up and hit a really thin patch of that already thin ice. More than likely we're just gonna let ya freeze in the hole you put yourself into. In other words +1 to come back. If you have changed we will see it. If not then well.... I'm more than sure the hell you raise to the staff that bans you will surely not regret any of it considering your past with the community/tf2. You know the consequences from what you say only way for us to truly find out is for us to let you have at it on the servers and see if you actually hold true to your word. That's all I have to say on the matter. Ty~

Well since i was mentioned, i should explain my story a bit more in detail.

I joined jailbreak 2 one day. Nomulous was no-clipping all over the map and killing REDs in their cells. I called him out on his BS and i was told he was testing things. I made the argument that jailbreak 2 is a JAILBREAK server, not a TEST server. Nomulous being a higher up does not excuse him from the rules. If i recall correctly, there was no vote.

I have no proof of this if you're wondering. This is just my 2 Cents.

Also, the powerups on Jailbreak 2 are incredibly stupid. They ruin the flow of gameplay. Super jumping and wallclimbing ruin minigames on the server, undermining their point. Going hand in hand with this, abuse day needs to be removed immediately. An admin could ban everyone on the server if he wanted to. It's abuse day. Why would he not abuse?

I've also noticed some rather abuse-y staff and incompetent ones. I'd like to request that xG look into their staff's actions a little bit harder. I think you have a few bad apples.

-Xeno Gamers clan. If you could spare a few moments I would like to point your attention to jb2 a server I have played on for years. The place I earned my gibus. I'm very aware that much of Xeno Gamers has dismissed it as a dead server but I still go on it and find life..sadly it is usually in the form of freekillers and scum that ever since jb2 has been rebooted have crawled like lice into a lions mane. Then..just to add insult to injury xg proceeds to give blue team the ability to super jump and climb up walls. With no freekill penalty and no rebellion favoring maps (Legojail Downview Wakka) these tyrannical youngsters squeakers freekillers and others have taken to settling down and racking up free strange kills. Teeming like maggots in the corpse of a once proud Xeno Gamers server. Then the audacity of Xeno Gamers members on Jail Break 2 has also been both startling and shocking.

I have the permission of Xranth ( A warden on Jailbreak both 1 and 2) To reveal a story of what is in my opinion blatant abuse and oppression. Nomulus was testing a method of teleporting all prisoners or all of red team to disco. Xranth who was in the red cell on mlcastle with me blatantly points out that Jailbreak 2 is a Jail Break server and not a testing ground. Xranth is kicked and Nomulus says that if we do not like it to leave. Jail Break to is still Xeno Gamers ground is it not? In my opinion the unfair testing of team biased powers perks and teleports needs to be moved to a server made for such tests. And thereby sparing those of us who do play jb2 the abuse and pain caused by certain unruly mods admins or clan leaders. I hope xg is also aware that the wall climbing and super jumping also break ALOT of games on jb2 for both blue and red alike.

Xenogamers you are by all accounts a fine clan that undoubtedly has its reasons for the recent "deletion" of jb2 and its re-boot. Sadly your attempt to restart it has left some accidental repercussions that I would like to address. The first being the once prevalent "Freekill penalty" that used to exist on jb2. It prevented m1 pyros with first blood crits from mass freekilling by temporarily cutting down thier damage. While this isn't necessary on Jail Break 1 since there is a large amount of Moderators and Administrators there on Jail Break 2 the lack of allows freekillers tarpers and other rulebreakers to ply their trading with little risk of retribution. I would therefore humbly beseech you to consider returning the freekill penalty to jb2 along with the maps that benefit the prisoner more so than the guard such and Downview and Legojail rather than the biased swill of maps such as Chretein and Mlcastle with their sniper and scout favoring conditions. I should hope that Xenogamers reviews and commends my request and givesit the honor of a vote. I hope my words have made some impact and that you take them into account. Thank you and good day.

If this isn't consider abuse, I'd like an explanation as to why. How is stickying someone to one channel and, essentially, being banned from every other channel NOT abuse?

I was told by KB there's other channels to go to so I can avoid this crap. Frankly, I shouldn't have to worry about being abused IF PEOPLE DID THEIR JOB AND ACTUALLY FOLLOWED THE RULES THEY UPHOLD.
