  1. This isn't exactly Promo/Demo related, but since everyone is already following this thread, I figured I'd just post about it here.

I want to incorporate a strict definition of spawncamping within our ruleset, so that people know exactly what we classify as spawncamping, but I don't know exactly what you guys want to deem as against the rules.

We are all aware that certain maps cannot be camped due to the teleport nature of spawns. But what exactly does that entail? Is it strictly just Engies building sentries? Or does it also include Pocket Heavies/Pyros? Do we want to abolish all forms of attack on teleport spawns, or simply buildings?

I would like your guys' input and help on this matter. What do you think? =)

  2. So, I'm feeling this so far on this promo demo :

    Vexx from Member to Moderator.

    BananaShoes from Member to Moderator.

Tomahawk from Member to Probationary Moderator.

Any considerations for current mods to admins? Snowy has been kicking a lot of ass lately. Maybe a promotion is in line? =D

  3. Moderator Submission Rules!

We've updated the Moderator Submission Rules. If you saw my announcement, you already know that the biggest change there is the fact that we are NOT removing the donating rule. This came straight from Rhododendron. Instead, he wants us to begin enforcing the rule as strictly as possible.

Henceforth, all candidates for Moderator MUST have donated in some form to xG to be considered for a staff position.

Are the current candidates users who have donated?

  4. add

"* Activity on servers, Teamspeak, and the forums goes a long way. Make yourself known and become familiar with our staff and our policies before applying."

to csgo, or just put it in the general too IMO

    Can do. =)

    Final Revision:

    All Divisions

    * Before you apply for a Moderation position, you must have been a member of the clan for a minimum of thirty days.

    * We do not accept applications for Forum Moderators. Those positions are reserved for higher members of the Moderation Staff.

    * You must have thoroughly read through the Admin Handbook before you may apply. (Found here: Everything You Need To Know [admins, Servers, Handbook, Etc.])

    * You must be registered on Teamspeak before you can apply for Moderator.

    * You must be 16+ to apply to become a Moderator.

    * Activity on servers, Teamspeak, and the forums goes a long way. Make yourself known and become familiar with our staff and our policies before applying.

    * Donating is required before you can be considered for a staff position. (Will be rigorously enforced beginning 6/4/2016)

    Team Fortress 2

    * You must have a minimum of 50 forum posts before you may apply.

    * You must have open communication with a Division Manager or higher before you can apply.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Not sure how you guys wanna structure these rules)

    * You must have at least 20 hours on the CS:GO servers before you may apply.

    * You must have a minimum of 50 forum posts before you may apply.

    Nuclear Dawn

    * You must have at least 60 hours on the ND servers

    * You must be an ND rank 60 or higher

    * You must have 5-7 vouches

    Garry's Mod

    * You must receive at least three vouches.

    * You must be a regular player on the server(s).

    * You must answer these questions in the post.

Q1: If someone is mic spamming how would you handle it?

Q2: What would you do if someone walked up and RDMed you for no reason?

Q3: If you were told you to "f off" after sending a warning, how would you handle it?

Q4: Apon seeing a pornographic spray on the wall, what action would you take?

Q5: If you joined the server and saw a heated argument in chat, how would you defuse it?

  5. Yeah donations are quite necessary, and honestly, it shows commitment to the community. We don't make nearly enough money to support the community and donations are incredibly helpful when they happen.

Maybe I could add an option that asks if you have donated and remove the rule, but I feel like we would get a huge amount of spam applications for positions.

So, would you have us start enforcing that requirement for staff positions then? Because we haven't been. =/

  6. My proposed changes to the requirements thread. If you guys are okay with this, please let me know/suggest any other changes you think are necessary. If everyone is in agreements with this, I'll make the edit asap.

  7. I see no point on the vouch on mod app requirements - vouches have never really counted for anything on staff apps, other than judging what other players' opinions on the applicant is. DMs+ are already involved in the discussion, and it might just mislead people into thinking that responses on the app count for more than they really do.

Perhaps I worded it poorly. Instead, what if we change it to being in communications with a DM+ in order to show that you are committed to working for the good of the team?

I don't want it to come across as needing a specific number of vouches, but if we are going to start taking staff submissions seriously, it's nice to set the expectation that the people applying for staff SHOULD have some sort of relationship with the higher ups in the division.

  8. What if, instead of requiring a donation, we simply state that donating greatly helps their chances to become staff? I feel that by saying it is a mandatory action to get a staff position, then giving a good chunk of our staff positions to people who didn't donate, is kind of ignoring the rule. =/

  9. Okay, so looking over the ruleset for applying for mod in any of the divisions...I noticed it was old, outdated, and archaic. So I want to discuss with you guys what you think we should change, because I want to update the rules list.

As it sits, this is what the ruleset says, along with my thoughts on each rule:

    All Divisions

    * You cannot be a moderator without first joining the clan. (Keep, obviously)

    * You cannot apply for forum moderator. (Keep, obviously)

    * You must have read and be familiar with the Admin Handbook. (Keep, obviously)

    * You must have donated to apply! (or earn the position) (I honestly think this is redundant. Do we REALLY need to require donations for staff? There have been tons of people who got staff without donations. I was one of them.)

    * You must be registered on Teamspeak. (Keep, obviously)

    * You must be 16+ to apply (NO EXCEPTIONS) (Keep, obviously)

Counter-Strike: Source (Lolwat, this is a division?)

    * You must have at least 100 posts on the forums (Please don't go spamming)

    * You must have been a member in the clan for at least 2 months

    * You must have donated within the last 7 days

    Team Fortress 2

    * You must have been a member in the clan for at least 2 months. (I think it should be shortened to 30 days and have a DM+ vouch.)

    * You must have donated within the last 7 days (Nix this)

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Not sure how you guys wanna structure these rules)

    * You must have at least 20 hours on the CS:GO servers

    * You must have at least 50 posts on the forums

    * You must have been a member in the clan for at least 1 month

Nuclear Dawn (Not sure how you guys wanna structure these rules)

    * You must have at least 60 hours on the ND servers

    * You must be an ND rank 60 or higher

    * You must have 5-7 vouches

Garry's Mod (Not sure how you guys wanna structure these rules)

    * You must receive at least three vouches

    * You must be a regular player on the server(s)

    * You must answer these questions in the post.

Q1: If someone is mic spamming how would you handle it?

Q2: What would you do if someone walked up and RDMed you for no reason?

Q3: If you were told you to "f off" after sending a warning, how would you handle it?

Q4: Apon seeing a pornographic spray on the wall, what action would you take?

Q5: If you joined the server and saw a heated argument in chat, how would you defuse it?

    Left 4 Dead 2 (Not a division anymore....right?)

*You must have at least 60 hours in L4D2

*You must have at least 20 posts on the forums

*You must have at least 6 vouches

*You must have been a member in the clan for at least 1 month

  10. Okay maybe not. Scratch what I said.

BananaShoes and Vexx....both have recently put in Moderator apps. BananaShoes has been a mod in the past and knows his shit. Vexx is an oldfag who has lurked in our servers forever and knows the rules well. I think both would be excellent additions to staff. Thoughts?
