Surf Major Fps Drops

I have been getting extreme frame drops just out of the blue....

for example, I'll be playing on any map and I'll get a huge frame drop dropping from usually 120 fps down to 9 - 10 fps.

 

I don't know what is causing this, but if anyone can fix it, please do...

Ive noticed a little bit but I tend to get spikes here and there anywhere so IDK. I've assumed it was just my connection but maybe not.

This may be from you setting your graphics setting higher than it should be. (I've been kicked a few times saying that I need to lower my graphics settings??)

Try lowering that, I think it may help.

FPS is almost always a client-side thing.

 

It's your computer and the graphics settings on TF2.

 

Set the top row of 3 graphics to the following

 

Low Medium High

 

Just like that, it should help a bit.

Yeah I've been getting drops as well. I only get drops when 15+ people are on surf. On any other server, I'm fine.

 

So I only go on there when it's almost empty. On TGH or Poketrade, I average maybe 25-45 fps with 25 people on clocktown.

 

But I average 10-15 on surf_utopia with 15 people.

thank you guys for helping :) i found the prob and was able to fix it by formatting my HDD and reinstalling windows and downloading my stuff from "the cloud"
