I spoke with the leader of ICG, who some of you may remember. He is the greatest leader that I've seen in the steel division, and tonight I asked him how to manage myself and 8 others to create a better team.

This is a mistake I should have seen sooner, and I apologize for that. Codexx told me: a "bad" player willing to learn is better than a "good" player who thinks they're never wrong. This is the policy I am going off of.

During map reviews, I hope that I can tell each and every class what they should be doing, where, and how. You do not need to be good at the game to be good at the game. Etney, a platinum soldier, is a horrible soldier and typically can only rocket jump. He is ALWAYS in the correct place, and that is exactly why he is plat.

I'd say it's more like "It isn't rational to think we can be on 24/7 when we have other things going on in our lives besides moderating Servers for free" because it technically is expected that we all offer our souls to the greater good.
 
You can always hop on here and throw a message up in ShoutBox where it'll most likely gather attention. Or you could jump on our TeamSpeak server as there are always numerous Staff Members on there (unfortunately there is a tendency for them to confine themselves to a community room that is locked more often than not). Last resort is to check out the SteamGroup page and post in the comments section.

I think we should implement a plugin I saw on an old hale server I played on and let players choose a set of bosses (ex. Set 1 hale, chuck Greene, herobrine. Set 2 gentle spy, blitzkreig, Christian brutal) and the plugin would give you one of the bosses from the list randomly. Granted people could get blitzkreig by rnjesus but it would stop the spam and force people to try new bosses they aren't used to and not the cheese boss they constantly play. We could throw mlg and blitz into different sets so the only way to get one btb is a stroke of sheer luck.

lol, not really, tf2 happens to do this crap a lot but doesn't actually do anything because they call bias a whole lot.

Personally I find combat to be really annoying in surf servers.
 
If you want to shoot people go find a pub, or go on our trade server where it is okay to kill whom u please.
surf server in my eyes looks like a deathmatch server.
 
Join a surf server to SURF not to get Strange kills.
 
completely remove combat, idc if people leave because there is no killing, its a surf server made for surfing

There's a few I have in mind, but the first map I thought of was surf_fruits. I'll be back tonight.

The server was fine how it was. Combat was a large part of why some people got on the server. If they couldn't surf, they could try to learn, fight in the arena, then go back to spawn and surf again. Spawn protection is already implemented, a 15 second spawn timer is unnecessary and if you're removing !cptele offer an alternative. I'm not going to do a perfect run of crazy frog every damn time I do the map. And you damn well better know I'm not starting over every time my run isn't perfect.
 
The home map should have stayed Utopia. It's a beginner map with an arena that offers multiple places to go back to spawn and continue the surf. The map is easy and all of the regulars love that map by default.
 
We shouldn't have to kill ourselves each time to restart. It's stupid. Each time you suicide you lose one credit and have to wait 15 seconds to get back on the surf? No thanks. I'd rather have a /cptele bind. Way easier.
 
We are not a competitive surfing server. We are a casual one. We don't have timers. We don't have a scoreboard with the #1 placement. You're wanting this server to be identical to Resurfed because you love surfing. That's not going to happen. It will never be the perfect server you want it to be. Improvements were to be made to the server, not a makeover. You should have left it alone and asked the community before touching it.

Sad to see you leave, Floppy. I hope you keep our memories with you. Your presence was lovely, and I seriously do hope you have a fantastic future.
