  1. Never gonna happen. Can't guarentee security for everyone with Discord. Teamspeak is encrypted for everyone so no worries there. Also Time Warner Cable owns Discord so no idea what will happen with it in the future.

Security? what could happen or what could people abuse with it, may I ask? Reason I ask is because I still prefer teamspeak, but most of the people I play with prefer Discord, and I never do my research. :^)

  2. First off, i think !rtd is something closer to a 50% chance of getting something good out of it. I know that's the case for minigames, but I'm not sure about jailbreak. That being said, i think the biggest issue currently is how expensive it is. It's priced at 25 credits, which is about 25-75 minutes of gameplay depending on how lucky you get with the credit drops. Spending credits just to catch on fire isn't particularly fun, and even if you do get something good, it only lasts for a maximum of 10 minutes before its gone. I do agree that there should be a risk to it, but at the moment it just feels really off and like your credits are going to waste.

    .

Ah, it takes that long to get it?

To be honest, it could be priced lower if it does take well over an hour. Or it could just go back to every few (heavily varying) rounds, as !days also did before. The latter should have a higher chance of getting something small, whether negative or positive depending on how frequently it is used.

'course, that's just my mind going wild. You guys do you, but a small fix would just probably be just to lower the cost or increase gain for playing.

  3. !rtd could we make them more attractive? I don't want to spend credits on them if they have a 20-30% chance of getting something good.

To be honest, wouldn't people just spam them then? I think it would be fairer if there's a lower chance to get anything really good. If what i remember is true, people can go invisible and have much more health or speed than normal. This is utterly stupid if spammed.

I could be wrong, though. /shrug

  4. The hell? Wasn't this discussed before? You can wear tags if you want to, but when you do, don't make it confusing as to what the tag actually means in regards to which community you belong to and which rank you are. This is the most obvious attempt to abuse that.

also, if u think that xG:DMTwired is supposed to be a play for DM, why isnt there a space? ex: xG:DM Twired.

If you want to say that, then what is the problem with simply wearing it so nobody would misunderstand your rank without having to actually ask to make sure?

Not to mention, @virr already showed you doing such a thing with your name, deliberately trying to fool people with [PLAIN]"xG:DM Twired", "xG:DM:Twired" and the "xG:CLassic" tag[/PLAIN]

  5. For the second option, time would likely not be added to a round, only removing up to ~3 minutes, so testing wouldn't really require that much effort.

I'm not sure about you, but in my experiences, rounds with more people tend to be shorter. Better chances of spawning in cells leading to guns, causing mass chaos/rebellions and whatnot. That's all I thought it should be tested and taken into consideration for. Could be a switch/vote on/off.

Redie is an old plugin, it was also on the CSS RPG surf server I believe. You can move around the map as if you were alive, but you are invisible and cannot push buttons or open doors. You would be able to do map games like surf or climb or whatever if you wanted. I'm not sure what you mean by it being cheating though..

I meant cheating by pushing buttons or opening doors that should otherwise not be able to be interacted with to open new advances for players. It seems like that's out of the question, now. (It may have been pointed out before, so I probably missed it. Sorry.)

  6. In regards to long round times, I've thought of a few possibilites that I'd like some input on -

    1. We simply shorten the round time a minute or two. Shortening too much could make it somewhat unfun when more people are on though, and it feels like rounds are too rushed.
    2. Scale the round timer based on number of players on the server. This would keep the round time where it is now for when a large amount of people are on (15+?), but shorten it by 1-3 minutes if theres only a few people on.
    3. Add a !redie plugin. This allows dead players to type !redie and run around and play map games or whatever as a ghost, but not affect the round or people still alive in any way.

Or, we could do nothing and keep it the same. thoughts?

The second looks quite nice, but it would need quite a lot of testing to find the optimal times added or removed from the rounds.

For the third, isn't that what spectate is? If they can interact with the map, however, wouldn't that be cheating?

There's also the problem on how difficult it would be to create, assuming it hasn't been already by somebody else (HELLO, WHERE'S HUB THEN!??!). Something like making them invisible, counting as dead, non-target-able, god-mode for fall damage, etc etc. Something is bound to break. I can feel it.

  7. trust me, our rounds tend to be much faster than other servers. popular server A doesnt have LCT (this speeds things up a lot) and both popular server A & popular server B don't have any rules in place to make things go any faster.

It's probably intended to get rid of those times when there's only a couple Ts left and the warden really doesn't want to do anything except for ask the Ts what they want to do.

Very good point, then could it be only if there are more than 1 ct left? So one can Pursuit rebellelers and another (the warden) give orders? I know this is a hard rule to conclude on but it would be a positive change to the server.

How about something simpler than adding onto the many things already in the MOTD? If there isn't already, then simply add something along the lines of "Warden must actively be trying to continue the round via playing games or perform some other type of activity. Minor exceptions can be made, but are very limited"

I also seem to have forgotten where the rules are, so..

  8. That would

That would be good, it's a hard thing to fix because it's up to the warden or rebelling ts really... But like a rule stating "at 4:00 warden must get to LR as fast as possible via death crate , last reaction, trivial questions, Simon says, other"

Just know, this makes it hard to decide whether someone is "breaking rules" or not, especially during those times when somebody rebels and is actively trying to annoy/hunt the warden to waste his time saying "hold on i gotta kill this dude before we continue" while there is more than one T left not rebelling. There's many more variants of this case, and it happens really often.

  9. You know, I feel like ever since this new age of staff there is never a "We're all friendly" period of time.

Also this is a leaving thread, not really the place to argue imo.

    kthxbye

It's rather a "Some of us are passive-aggressive towards others due to certain in-game problems, and eventually someone snaps after realizing that doing nothing about it... does nothing, and then gets piled on. Whether they stay with or without friendly relations still intact is 50/50"

  10. If I really, really wanted the situation to be solved, there would be too much drama.

In these fights, you end up wrong, and people don't understand that you were misinformed -or- didn't know all of the information about the situation, or you end up right, and it takes a ton of poop-talking and drama before people begin to reason with you.

This is honestly what I've been seeing around way too much, unless it's in a specific "No Drama Thread."

To be honest, I'd like to see how things would go being dealt with ON the server when it happens. This has happened a lot back before i even moderated CS:S servers. That shit stayed off the forums and everything was settled quickly and easily with a DM/DL who is online often involved.

I like drama and all, and I find it humorous for myself, but I like people who can move on from drama without fucking up their relationships, positions or image even more.

These are things xG has got through, and xG has lost way more in a short span of time then recently, i mean just look at PROMO/DEMO - Promotions and Demotions #60. xG has overcome perhaps the biggest obstacles.

    every clan has its

good and bad times, although this is a really bad time, that only means that there will be really good times in the future. You just

have to be tenacious with it.

we deffo went up from there rather than barely staying alive cus of a f2p division :^^^)

But yeah, long live drama and xg or whatever.
