  1. I have to say, as one of the "Higher Ups" that is accepting a good amount of the tf2 member submissions. It's really hard to find a happy medium. It's easy to complain that we're letting less than stellar vouches stand but you don't even take into consideration:

    1) as egossi said, we don't get paid for this. Asking us to read every single vouch not only for format, but for content, keeping track of all the inevitable edits while still having an accurate count, and keeping track of how long each individual member sub has been open, and also at what time the final vouch was posted, and to not make any mistakes and be done on time. Is asking a bit too much. It will never be perfect, and that's not even a number of staff issue, it's a fact.

    2) ^^^all of that shit isn't fair to people who are applying. I see people like @SnowyMinion and @TheSupremePatriot who both applied three times, none of their threads did that well at first, and people weren't super welcoming in them, but they both hung around, and eventually got in and are a real part of the community now. That's not common at all. Most of the time people just post an app or two and they basically just get ignored. And they feel unwanted and leave. We honestly don't accept a very high percentage, at all, of apps we get. So we (as the higher ups) have to choose between policing good vouches and people getting in all the time. Because we all know that people don't double check the threads, and a vouch or two will stay invalid, and that person won't get in because of it. Those of us who are higher ups have to make judgement calls on who gets in already. If you're going to complain about that are you going to complain we didn't follow the rules to a T or are you going to complain we made bad calls. Because we've already made quite a few judgement calls in both divisions. You can go back and check who those members we're, most if not all were great additions.

    I think DM+ can be trusted with making the right calls, it's why we're here. And all the higher ups want is for this clan to grow. I can't speak for CS:GO but tf2 vouches are usually pretty solid. If I've seen a re occurring problem it's people just straight up not being welcoming. Being demanding and rude instead of nicely explaining the rules if people have the tag on before joining. Just not touching or even cracking a joke if a sub gets made and the person hasn't been around very long. People hardly ever invite people to teamspeak, or ask what server someone plays on, or just be nice at all. Changing that would bring in a lot more members than lowering the age limit.

  2. Thats on DM+ to deal with and punish people for, look at mine i do it cause it doesnt matter anymore i know i wont be punished and i know it'll be counted as a vouch so why not? the problem is thats how it is, if they started punishing for this fudge then yea it would make a difference in how its done.

    You inspired me to look through our open member subs and correct people who had vouched incorectly but there weren't any. Tf2 vouches clean as fuck be the change you want to see or some shit.

  3. I remember @metalslug53 from people riding him around and bitching about him calling them Dinklebergs. Also singlehandedly destroying his hold on the scoota hive without rtd even though I died literally 35 times.

    I remember @Bach from him drunkenly leading the server in bohemian rhapsody (in a time when people actually played along) and nobody ruining it when he got mod the very first time in 2013. Not the time they forgot he was even mod so they just let him stay mod when he came back.

    I remember @BananaShoes from him being scout and protecting Moosty hill like a champ before we got permed and made our own server with hookers and cocaine. @ArminArmout was lurking around throughout all of this.

    I remember @Vector from being named Bailey Jay the first time I met him

    @Kart was the cutest of squeakers and was just drifting through the world looking for bad role models

    Nobody else from my Nintendo sixty fortress lurking days are really around anymore.

  4. Donate to apply if under 16 seems like a bit much @Rhododendron @Tsuchikure but that's just my opinion and that suggestion should totally leave the comments and be up for discussion.

  6. The whole reason we don't allow anyone under 16 is, im assuming, for maturity reasons? If this is the case then would the +1/-1 system narrow out those people who are not mature enough to join? I mean were supposed to list our rating of their maturity already (A: 10 M:7 for ex.).

    There really is no reason to put a limit on the age of applicants for any division, especially TF2 where I would assume the average age of players is less than 16, or at least there is a good majority of younger people.

    If you don't think the community can chose mature people @Snackbar, then we should at least consider that applicants <16 yo require a +1 from a staff member DM+.

    And iirc, Silence stated he wanted to keep it an adult community.. but it never has been. Most of the members are young. Plus, why restrict the number of people who can join? It just reduces the popularity of xG and reduces chances of donations.

    @Nomulous @kbraszzz

    +1 pretty much this. we vouch for a reason if people would vouch correctly that would be all we need. dm+ vouch for people under 16 is a great safeguard if the community makes a mistake and adds someone immature the higher up/s that vouched would be accountable. also it's true, barely anyone that plays tf2 is 16+ and I'd bet half of our members aren't even 16 yet. raising the age to 16 has led to tf2 getting a lot less member apps going through, just because we have to close so many because they're 14 or 15. we're probably closing 3 or 4 a week, and some of them people know and actually want to join. it would be different, but it's better for the health of the clan to lower it.

  7. +1 I've played with this guy, wasn't sure if member but yeah, don't hold it against him I never got a chance to ask him his forum name because no mic and tgh chat being bad. He's a TGH regular and mature enough for the clan.
