I've honestly no idea on why things have to be this way. That comment: "Shouldn't you be begging for food at the homeless shelter? Tramp." made my blood boil. This is beyond mundane, never in my life have I seen such bastardised arrogance directed at someone in the midst of a disagreement over something so meagre - a videogame. At what point is it appropriate to compare yourself to someone less fortunate than you to feel important; not to mention, something that is thoroughly irrelevant? Don't get me wrong, that previous incident wasn't/isn't something to undermine, but your attempt to degrade him after amends were made is undoubtedly disgraceful.
 
And another thing, if you honestly dislike this community, then why are you still here?

Alright, I made a conversation with the CL's so we can figure out a scenario where i'm not being ridiculed for being an impoverished college student that can't always afford food. I actually have had to go to a homeless shelter to eat before and her telling me to go beg at a homeless shelter and calling me a tramp isn't a joke. It's not funny or cool or whatever. This isnt a case where we need to just calm down and stop arguing, this has escalated into a real issue for me. I don't feel comfortable with this continuing. I'm fucking done with it.

I'm just sick of seeing people in this clan devolve threads within 3-4 posts by being as absolutely as toxic to one another about THE ABSOLUTE DUMBEST SHIT ON THE PLANET. It's a chatbind, so what? Alright, I understand it can be annoying, but is it really boiling people's piss to see a lenny face every now and then?

I still think this is a topic that needs to be discussed. @Moosty, I, and many others are in support of no spawn camping. It's boring for the spawncampers, and frustrating for the spawncampees. I say we give it a shot, we had the rule not even in place for 24 hours. We need to honestly give it a REAL shot.

Ok, heres what I am understanding. Please tell me if I'm wrong information-wise: The one who "scammed" was being DEFENDED by this guy and HE got PERMED? First of all, someone offering Nothing for Something is NOT scamming. It's Sharking, and honestly not even a problem at all. Pretty much every TF2 player uses backpack.tf community-based prices. HOWEVER: It's not REQUIRED to follow these said prices. And the people knew what they were getting when they traded. So, not only +1 for him, but his "friend" as well.

I am more in favour of this being the solution to the spawn camping dispute; as opposed to, making it a ban-able offence that would drive more regulars away than it is intended to gain. Spawn camping is one of the core strategies of Team Fortress 2, granted, being a practice for Public/Valve/Competitive servers - that much is redundant. Trade/Community servers are an entirely different subject matter to consider. As others have stated, trade servers exist for wanderers to drop in and seek another individual or group of individuals to trade with in hopes of gaining profit/acquiring something of their own desire and then proceed to go about their own business.
 
However, this ordeal says otherwise - If spawn camping is receiving this degree of notoriety within our community, then our trade servers are being utilised for something other than their intended purposes. Inevitably, players will grow tired of traditional TF2 gameplay, and will look elsewhere for new places to inhabit. Trade servers and community servers alike offer a new experience that typically do not follow said traditional gameplay, something unique/quirky, and are often the first servers to receive any form of notoriety from curious newcomers. Don't get me wrong, trade servers are intended for lobbying traders; however, said traders occupy themselves while they're lobbying and advertising for trades - this includes killing other players and other miscellaneous activities. As for the newer players, they're more than likely drawn in by their search interests while browsing for servers - often for specific reasons or random overall. Of course, we're a gaming community with multiple divisions and multiple servers - each accompanied by rules instated via a general consensus. Let me not be misunderstood, there will always be some tangent of factors to consider regarding a variety of scenarios that are worthy of addressing, yet there is also a line to be drawn between fun and something that is a nuisance within our community - that much is understandable.

I am still unsure as to how spawn camping came to be SERIOUS BUSINESS in the first place. We've the resources for players to carry out countermeasures to be able to free themselves from such a thing yet it seems that is too much work. The Friendly plugin and the Roll The Dice plugin - Godmode, Noclip, Lucky Sandwich, Toxic, Crits, Infinite Ammo, Timebomb, Homing Projectiles are all utilisable to aid in a scenario like this whether it be in the favour of the camped team and/or the camping team. Why was a last resort considered first; rather than, any input of reasonable solutions? It's ludicrous. At least now, the reasonable solution(s) is(are) being considered. There will always be complaining, yet only so much can be done to serve as an appeasement. We're striving to attract more players due to the loss of many of our regulars, yet we often resort to solutions that end up contributing to the problem - we want users to have fun and feel welcome, don't we? Banning people for playing the game is a bit of a rash decision.

** I've been absent for a few days, so I'm a bit out of the loop - I may have missed some important information/changes. And also, I'm not degrading/attempting to degrade those seeking resolutions for the issues within our community. Just providing some food for thought. Also, it's 4 in the morning, and I'm tired as all hell.

There's the Nintendo Server no-one seems to care aboot. ._.
The map list there is minimal, but it could have changed.

You're not allowed to wear the tag until you get accepted.

WE DO NOT NEED ANY MORE SERVERS OR MAPS. IT IS JUST ADDING TO THE PROBLEM. We we realize "hmm, maybe we should improve the servers and maps we have NOW rather than pile on more shitty, broken maps"
 
We also need to address the biggest influence on the servers. The members and staff.
We need the change the way we act if we expect traffic to continue. No one wants to be in a server where they get verbally harassed every time they go on.
If you constantly get called shit and are spawn camped for 2 hours straight, you tend to not want to come back to the server.
First impressions are big everywhere, this does not exclude servers on video games.
 
Remember, people that fall in love with one server tend to not go on others so I've seen. Look at all the member sumbissions.

I'm not sure what will result of TGH [a.k.a. Nintendo64Tress (or whatever it used to be called)], but look at the Pokemon Trade Centre server. Same map 24/7/365 -- 32/32 a majority of the time.

Sup dudes, if you haven't realized some shit has happened between me and some members in xG. Whether you like me or not or if i hurt you or whatever, i'm gonna be honest i don't really give a shit if i did hurt you and i'll probably not change lol. But i will give a possible reason for my attitude.
 
3 years ago my sister died. She ODed on heroin and redbull, she was found 3 days later in her dorm room dead. not gonna get more specific then that
 
in like a few days is the anniversary of her death. I'll probably be on but i won't talk much, we'll see what happens
 
This is not a feel sorry for me thread, this is to clear some things up and if i go missing for a little while that's the reason.
 
Anyway, shit happens, see you guys when i feel like talking or interacting.

I've said this before, and i'm going to keep on saying it, i just wish the mods and admins would act like principals and not dictators. a principal calls you in to tell you what you did wrong and lets you off with a warning or detention. a dictator calls you in to tell you what you did wrong, then proceeds to make fun of you and pester you and gets the whole server to join along to pester this person. i understand that a person did something wrong, but don't go to far with it just tell them what they did wrong. it really turns people off when there are rude admins and mods, and go off and tell people why this server is bad thus not populating it. kudos to you Dethman.

How about we change "No immature voices." to "Keep the mic open for traders." on trade servers? We can enforce other rules if need be, and lump in the annoying ones to mic spam if they get out of control?
 
I've heavily enforced the "No squeakers" rule since I received mod, but I honestly feel like it is a tad bit discriminatory. Do away with it and just deal with the annoying ones.
