I agree offline raiding should be a thing and I will fix that indefinitely.
 
I also don't want obsidian to be indestructible in a sense, I will review what to do with it with the others but the last thing I want to see is everyone using obsidian+water in their bases, it looks ugly. We will either change the value for which obsidian breaks or configure a magic spell which can be used to break it if possible.

Factions Update 1:


Removed inability to raid a user's faction when they are offline. Offline raiding is allowed and all explosives should work.

 

Altered some prices in the shop to reflect their value. Diamonds are now 8x for 600 credits.

 

Updated the spawn area to include ease of access both for exiting and entering the spawn, also made it look more appealing.

 

Obsidian has had its blast resistance increased to 5 up from 2.

 
 
I can also confirm Nether is not working due to a bug or conflict I am trying to locate, I am working to fix this next as top priority so nether should be coming soon.

seeing as we are currently at 75% vote for factions (I shifted my vote to factions after looking at the plugin in depth). It is very likely we will be going with factions however we will keep this vote up until the end of the week and if the vote is still strongly in favour of factions we will take what as been said in this thread and move it forward into the planning stages.

I'm personally not a fan of PvP (unless its in a controlled environment such as an event arena) and know full well that with factions there will be groups just going around constantly lying to and slaying new players and not giving them a chance to actually build a settlement before its destroyed forcing them to leave the server in frustration and most likely not to return.
 
Therefore because we can't recode factions unless there is another gamemode plugin available which allows weaker players to play peacefully and keep their builds protected I am going to vote for towny but with changed settings to discourage one giant nation being formed against several tiny hamlets.

If you don't want your credits, MCMMO skills, and towns you've spent so much time building reset, then don't vote yes for a reset.
 
As @Amylicious said in the bullet points, a reset does mean a reset economy, as well as reset MCMMO skills. Maybe I can help shed some light on the importance of that. I've worked hard to grind skill levels, credits, and work on my town just like the rest of you. Even so, the fact of the matter is; if we carry over existing MCMMO skill levels and/or credits, the game instantly becomes unbalanced to favor those who were around before the reset.
 
This potential reset is part of a larger effort to increase the playerbase. xG Towny is not a private server restricted to members only or anything like that, so it doesn't make sense to carry over stats such as credits or MCMMO skills and give the players who were around before the reset a huge advantage. The only thing this leads to is another reset coming up much quicker than the last, and on and on and on exponentially.
 
Oh, and we might be putting the old map up for download in the event of a reset so at least you can have your builds.

well, not that I have much input here but i'll still post my view.
 
I think they should be removed, random crits lead to way too many arguments and even those that voted to keep them probably wouldn't really end up complaining about not having any crits as opposed to those that voted to remove them as they would bring up arguments such as "crits are bs and should have been removed, what idiots voted to keep them, thanks now I died"
 
all in all the server would be less toxic and prone to arguing if the annoying random luck aspect of the game was taken out.
