I thought it was a thunderstorm because its police sirens...How in tf do you stop police sirens XD. I got you tho my bad.

You can't, but you absolutely can decide to not talk on the mic if you have a bit of BG noise going on, which is for the better anyway if it's loud enough.

The problem yesterday was that there was a thunderstorm and someone interrupted him when he was talking. You then muted him because his mic was turned on for about 2 seconds after. I understand why the second part might be an issue in some circumstances but the first reason is unjustified.

He wasn't muted for talking over others or the thunderstorm (I couldn't even really hear it), I muted him because he had a bit of noticeable background noise going on in his mic (sirens) I did warn him to stop but, he didn't.

You seem like you need to work on your maturity a bit before I can recommend you to be a member. I haven't seen you all that much, but, yesterday when I muted one of your friends for micspamming, you briefly insisted that I unmute him and that he didn't do anything wrong even after I explained. I also don't really appreciate the attitude I've heard you express towards staff.

  4. I'd be alright either way with this. I don't lose my mind whenever somebody says "faggot" or even the n word really, but that being said I still do ultimately think of it as being in poor taste and those words are mostly used as demeaning terms. And to those who say that it would be too opinionated to make these into official rules, the way I view it, we have quite a few laws in society that are, when you break it down, opinions. That being said and everything, I do think it might be better to keep things the way they are now. I wouldn't want people to stop coming to the server because it's too strict.

  5. Was an admin before I even got moderator. I thought of you as one of the more chill staff at the time and you were pretty good at enforcing the rules. It was sad to see you step down. I would love to see you come back to a staff position!

  6. Your behavior still seems like it needs a bit of improvement. The times I've seen you you were pretty decent but your chat logs show that at several points you can get really unnecessarily heated. Also you've been on the server long enough now to the point where you should know that racial slurs and any loopholes aren't allowed. Disappointed to say, but I can't say yes to you becoming a member with an attitude like this.

  7. I hate this map, it's not that big, the theme isn't that great to me, and it's low gravity. I hate nearly every single low gravity map, I really wish map makers would not make maps that have low gravity on by default, seriously, the default gravity is fine, thank you.

    +1 on removal.

I think the key words here are "in my view," which indicates you are going to state your opinion. Instead of people saying "in my view," regarding rules, I'd like it to turn into "in the community's view..." I hope you know where I'm coming from.

Well, my view is based on how I've seen others enforce it as well. Also while going with the community is nice in several cases, I do feel that there are some things that are best decided on by staff and staff alone.

I think the problem with the voice rule is similar to that of the rule against sexually explicit decals. Staff just has their own opinions on where the line should be drawn.

In my view, I think it's pretty clear what is and isn't allowed. Basically it's using anything other than your normal speaking voice. I might like to be able to allow more minor voices or impressions, but like I said, for the most part, I think it's good the way it is.

  10. I can definitely support the idea of making a lot of the rules more consistent and clear as far as definition goes. I'm not a huge fan of the whole "staff discretion" thing either. We should have rules with as little room for alternate interpretation as possible. Some rule interpretation difference is inevitable, but we should still be doing everything we can to limit how many rules we have like that for the sake of consistency.

I know some people don't like the no silly voices rule, but, personally, I don't want to see it change all that much. I like it when people use voice chat for actually talking with others and not doing impressions. There are some exceptions to this I could make depending on how intense the silly voice is but all-in-all, I say no.

Lastly, I do think there is ultimately a reason why we have that no arguing with staff rule. If you care that deeply about a certain topic or another then the forums would probably be the best place to take it or to get into contact with a higherup. That being said, it should not be being used to silence every single debate on the servers.

  11. Elcark did bring up some good points. If that's the reason that you stepped down from your position for the second time and then held off all this time on becoming staff again, I don't think that you should be promoted to admin right away. Also from what I've seen your attitude, while not terrible, could use some improvements. However, all this being said, I do think it would be appropriate for you to become a moderator on the server.

  12. While I do kinda like the map because of how it looks and for some of the songs in the music room, I do ultimately have to agree with getting rid of it. It is just hampered by too many bad design decisions. The random spawns can be kinda irritating, never really liked that as far as map design goes, the map is largely a corridor with not that much area to move around in, and of course, spammable music buttons. This map also isn't even really from anything, to my knowledge, so it doesn't even fit with the gaming theme.

  13. I did happen to record a bit of the incident here:

Also from the chat logs you were acting disrespectful as well.

Even if you actually were a member, trolling isn't allowed.

tf2 itself nerfed this so it's not really as much of a problem anymore as it takes like 60 ammo to shoot one ball and it lasts like literally no time now. But barn house still is annoying for doing the taunt trap in that one tunnel

I can't remember for sure, but I thought it was the primary fire of the short circuit and not just the secondary?

    Even then -1

I just, for the most part, don't see this being that big of a problem. In most cases, if you fall for something like this, you deserved it. And on maps that have vents maybe the player controlling the boss should take out engies first.

I don't necessarily understand why people are pushing for a permanent ban on this guy over a bit of BM in chat. It doesn't even look like what he said was actually directed at anyone, and simply general opinions on "furries" themselves.

IMO, stuff like BM'ing is only ok if either everyone's in on it or doesn't really care that much about it. Even if what he's talking about is just furries in general, that doesn't really make what he's saying ok because some of our staff and regulars are furries. In general, I'm ok with jokes, but like I said before, it's to the point where I'm not sure if he even is just doing "BM" at this point, I'm sorta thinking that he's serious about some of the stuff he's saying.

I can understand that these maps are from other games and that they, therefore, may not be the most balanced for normal gameplay. However, I do think that there should be a limit/cutoff to this attitude. I, personally, think we should look at more than just, "Does the map function alright?". We don't really go onto this map that often and based off the very few times I've been there, I think I can safely say that there's a reason for that. From what I've seen, that map very often turns into Sniper wars and the reason I see that as a problem is because of how big, open space maps are very great for Sniper. On large, open area maps I don't think that there are that many counters to sniper aside from another sniper and in some cases Spy. Also there are some design decisions for that map that are just terrible like the one resupply cabinet by Blu team (I think it was).
