Forest 309 Posted May 17, 2016 Looking for good horror films as the most recent ones have been pretty sub-par and/or somewhat disappointing. Give me some suggestions Xeno Gamers! (Not including "shock" horror along the lines of works like "Saw"). Feel free to include trailers with your suggestions or why you thought it was a good film. ChickenPanda 66 Posted May 17, 2016 Scootaloo introduced us to Babadook awhile back. Not the scariest movie you'll ever see in any sense, but it does have a horror "feel" and is pretty interesting. That's the only one on Netflix that I can think of on the top of my head, but I've also heard good things about Insidious.

Rhododendron 994 Posted May 17, 2016 Bone Tomahawk was pretty good, although I prefer more of an atmospheric horror film than jump scares. 1 Forest reacted to this
Goblins 580 Posted May 18, 2016 The Exorcist. I still have nightmares from that movie.
Forest 309 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Bone Tomahawk was pretty good, although I prefer more of an atmospheric horror film than jump scares. Unfortunately the latter is so popular nowadays, it's difficult to find a horror movie that doesn't rely purely on jumpscares as opposed to cultivating a menacing atmosphere. I heard "vvitch" was pretty good though, has anyone seen it? Edited May 18, 2016 by Guest (see edit history)

I've seen em' all aside from "Hush" which I'll probably check out since it's on Netflix. Here are a few other worthy mentions for other horroresque movie-goers: Mama - Personally have always loved Guillermo del Toro's work and I was actually surprised at the direction this movie took http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZlY47eCdas Sinister - While jumpscare heavy, it does carry a disturbing and unsettling premise; definitely not for those who find kids creepy enough in movies like "Children of the Corn" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kbQAJR9YWQ Dead Silence - While this movie may not be eerie to some, I absolutely despise dolls/puppets in any shape or form, so this one definitely succeeded in freaking me out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b_HVtHmK30 Edited May 18, 2016 by Guest (see edit history) 1 NitNat reacted to this

Tomahawk 156 Posted May 19, 2016 Saw the Spanish dub in Spanish class last year. Was not disappointed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02mbaN7ozJ4 1 Forest reacted to this
Forest 309 Posted May 20, 2016 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zBlG8Lv01k Would also recommend "Crimson Peak" to those who prefer a more.. Emotional, horror movie for a lack of better words (think "Mama", after all it is a work of Guillermo del Toro). While it has a some-what mediocre plot, it's very macabre and the atmosphere of it is pretty great. 1 NitNat reacted to this
Forest 309 Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXXRS3Kghh4 Jumpscare heavy movie (+ Harry Potter!), but still a worthy mention. Edited October 28, 2016 by Forest (see edit history)
