No offense to @Hiryunix congrats I guess even though you never speak to me :[! But I'm starting to see a trend in the promotions in our Team Fortress 2 division. If you look at the latest promo/demo threads, five out of seven of them include people who play on TGH.

This concerns me because some of these promoted players literally only play TGH or their designated server. They know rules well enough, but they don't interact with any of the other servers at all. I don't mean to start a fight here between the whole division, but the whole "I NOMINATE THEE FOR STAFF!!!111!11!" thing isn't the best idea. I think DM+ should take a good, hard look around the servers, maybe even asking staff members about this player or that one.

tl;dr: DM+ please actually look around the servers instead of only having a nomination for who should have staff. It has it's limits when two of the three of four higher ups play on one server *mostly* so they might not even have any idea who the person is that they're voting on.

What are your thoughts on this. Looking at it it does make sense unless you can use your lvl 99 charisma and tell me and tat otherwise.

I mean I had never played surf until I got mod again and now look at me, I'm pretty much the surf admin. I do see what you mean but trust me, just because TGH people are given moderator doesn't mean that they will only play on TGH. Take @BonfireCentipede for example. He goes on every server pretty much and he used to be strictly TGH

I have a lot of faith in my bb gurl @Hiryunix <3

There is no problem with staff sticking to a certain server, I'd almost encourage it as having a staff member who knows one server well is better than that staff member hardly knowing any. Surf has its own handful of staff, as does Pokemon, I really see no problem with promoting people who "only play on one server" because at least they'll know what they're doing on said server. Wyverness was a great choice because she's almost always online at the late hours of the night when everyone else is asleep, and I see no problem with her only playing on one server. Considering that TGH and Surf are our two most active servers right now, it is not a bad thing to see multiple staff members on these servers, though it may leave other staff members unable to actually do any part of their job because there's others there already. Though, I do find it quite amusing that you know what seems like "insider information", please keep future complaints/problems about promo/demo out of the promo/demo threads, just message one of us privately and we can clear up any confusion.

Also, now that Deathrun is back alive at about at least 10 people per day and 20 on weekends and since i'm almost the only staff that plays there often it would be nice if any of the higher ups took a look around to see candidates.

I already spoke to the higherups and told them to interact more with their mods/admins so they can get their input for promo/demo. If you guys didn't know, this can be my endorsement that all staff can give their input on nominations for promo/demo that might not be clear to them :)

A congrats to you @Hiryunix and a welcome to the force, so to speak. Now you'll be able to get things done later at night when some of us are a bit too out of it or asleep, heh.

Well first off tatost. People who got promoted may find TGH as their favorite server, but they, myself included go on others to deal with problems and start to play on other servers. TGH is the most popular server and so many xG members come from that, wouldn't that make sense? At one point most of the staff came from the pokemon trade server back when i started playing tf2 and that eventually changed. Plus, how can you ignore the surf moderators that got promoted? My promo demo and this promo demo consited of 2 TGH regulars. the promo demo before mine @Healix i'm told plays TGH and pokemon, and before that was @Skeletal @LemonVolt @TheSupremePatriot who are surf. So again, it's really ignorant of you to just assume it's nothing but TGH. Also if you feel there are players who need to be promoted, talk to the DMs and give a major recommendation and said DMs will take a look at your candidate.

@Tatost, I understand your concern that I'm only on tgh. Most my recommendations were from tgh. I do play the other servers more than you'd think. I'm in surf late at night and pokemon I hang out in a lot becuase I have freinds on that server too. Even though I'm not locked to one server I do play more than you'd realize of the other servers. Tgh is just my most regular server. So to a degree I'll agree that staff variety is a good thing but it's also good to have specialist or regulars on a particular server as they warrent more respect from their peers.

This. @Tatost You have us all on Steam, yet you see the need to make a post on the forums. What's your intention? Is it the few positive ratings you get? Do you want to make the newly promoted staff feel like shit?

What even is this l0l, some of our staff appears to complain because they also wanna suggest people for Promo/Demo, then thanks to @Aegean we take actual nominations for once and you guys are still unhappy. :emoji_thumbsdown:

1: I don't care two shits for ratings on the internet. 2: This isn't to make them feel like fudge, I'm just pointing out that they shouldn't restrict themselves *mostly* to one server.

I said "five out of seven of them include people who play on TGH."

The amount of contention on some of these promo/demo threads seems unnecessary. Verbally speaking to higher ups or staff members would help you get your point across much more effectively than you can in text form. We have a Teamspeak and I know most of us have discord or even skype. Even using private messaging on the forums or steam is a good way to get points across. Speaking directly is the best way to clear up these issues, as I find the promo/demo threads to be a bad place to argue. The irony that i'm posting this in the promo/demo thread isn't lost on me.

This didn't mean any disrespect to the recently promoted staff members in the slightest. You guys are good staff members, I'm not against you guys getting promoted, I just think it's better if we can have a few more staff members that walk around on most of the servers, take @Thunder for example. He plays TGH, Pokemon, Deathrun, Jailbreak when it's got people on. This is not because I wanted admin, I don't care unless I can help around the server. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxO3FWv4X2E
