  1. Bump, 'cause I wanna know what others think.

    *gives opinion*

    *negatively rated*

He has been mod before and did a pretty good job. As far as I've noticed when I played with him he didnt really change, so it is clear [to me] that he knows his fudge.

I've been playing with him so much, I don't think it was a rash decision to +1 this.

I hadn't said it was a rash decision, I had said it was rushed. He was a good mod, and will be a good mod. But considering how long I had originally waited patiently years ago for moderator, it seems the division is much more eager for more staff, regardless of how well you know them. I wouldn't personally say 2 weeks of moderate activity is enough to promote somebody, but hey, you're the DM.

Think about the number of times @Bach left and came back and not once did anyone think twice about giving him a staff position again. I'm not comparing myself to Bach, but I don't intend to leave again anytime soon and I believe I'm just as qualified for a staff position as I was before. Nobody's being "desperate" here.

I also had never accused you of wanting to leave immediately. You just came back from a long time of being inactive and you were quite swift making the moderator submission. I worry about the clan, and it does seem like the servers are losing population. If that's the case, you guys have to be careful in your moderator selection. Hero, in particular, is a good pick. But there are a few others that I strongly disagree with, and looking more deeply into things is a good place to start.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, but I'm just trying to look out for the clan.

  2. I don't play TF2 anymore, but you guys seem to be rushing this. He just came back and even @BelloWaldi saying a promotion in two weeks because you JUST came back seems a little fast.

Not sure how desperate you guys are for moderators, but everything in this thread seems rushed. Also, putting [xG:xM] as your tag is wildly unnecessary and will just cause confusion. I fail to understand why you thought it was a good idea.

  3. Don't use mental issues as an excuse. It's possibly the worst thing you could do. "But I'm bipolar!" I don't give a shit. If you can't be a decent human being, that's that. Don't blame it on your mental issues, blame it on yourself. Take some goddamn responsibility and grow up.

Edit: And this applies to fucking everybody.

  4. stepping down from social media. staying member in case I decide to actually come back one day.

@Rhododendron I would suggest @TheSupremePatriot considering he's pretty determined and excited about it. if he's still willing, obviously.

if you care about the reason, you can keep reading. if you came for tl;dr that's all.

When I started playing WoW, I thought it would be a fun thing for a couple of xG members to do, and we could all play together and raid, specifically in the upcoming expansion. I dozed off and kind of did my own thing while everybody else stayed behind and only raided on the raid days that I set. I got way ahead of everybody, and I'm now raiding mythic (the hardest difficulty) and I get really into the game and serious about it. I simply don't have the time or motivation that I used to for the clan, but I still love everybody here. Not going to tag anyone, you know if I enjoy your presence or not. if you want the link to my guild's discord, message me on forums and I'll give it to anyone that I particularly like. If you want to play wow, you're welcome into my guild, and you may raid with us if you have the desire for it.

    wtb wow division.

    dj darkfoot out.

  5. I am interested in becoming a moderator, because I love the servers and the types of people you meet on them.

Just so you are aware, this is a member submission. You're in the right place, as you need to be a member for a couple months before you become a member, but I just wanted to inform you that you will not be granted moderator powers if this is accepted. =)

  6. I think one of my favorite things about overwatch is that it really condenses the game down into just the combat. There's keeping track of how much damage you've done, because you can see the enemy's health, health packs are less frequent then tf2 so you have to rely more on your heros innate healing (if they have it) or your healer to get back health as appose to running around and picking up health, infinite ammo makes it so ammo management isn't a thing, and you don't have to put too much time into learning how each character moves. Instead of dealing with all that stuff, you can spend all your time learning how all the matchups work and how each character's kit can best be utilized. I'm not saying all the other stuff is bad, but it's not stuff i personally enjoy. Overwatch takes all that away and still manages to have incredibly unique and engaging combat without distractions, and I find it very enjoyable.

As a support player, I agree completely. The team actually has to rely on a support, in some aspect. With TF2's Medic, you could totally just all play scout in a pub and go crazy with the health packs. I feel so much more impactful playing Lucio or Mercy.

  7. First off, RJing was in initial trailers for TF2, and it was in all the predecessor games... Also, congrats you can do basic jumps, now get on to that actual complicated stuff like
    .

Also, it is an opinion for a reason, I just happen to prefer skill based movement. If you didn't see it, there is a big bolded bit of text that says they are my opinions.

Note I said "Team Fortress" and not TF2. The original TF was where rocket jumping was "invented" by the players, and no, it was not intended. Also, play some Lucio if you're still convinced there's no skill based movement in OW. =) And what I said about TF accidentally creating rocket jumping is a fact. I couldn't give less fucks about your opinions, I'm just correcting some of your incorrect facts.

  8. Soft counters is a much more enjoyable style where while one class may have an advantage in a fight (eg scout v demo) you could still outplay that soft counter because you were better than them at the game (demo lands pipebombs on the scout).

As someone who played demo in silver, this triggers me. Scout is such a hard counter to demo it's not even funny. TF2 is balanced around the same "rock paper scissors" meta that Overwatch is. The only "soft counters" would be involved with weapon unlocks in TF2 (ie, scout gets rekt by engi, scout equips bonk.)

    Lack of skill based movement

Blizzard was avoiding this on purpose, just btw. In Team Fortress, rocket jumping was not a mechanic that was intended at first. Blizzard added some movement that was meant to be in the game, like Junkrat's shift ability. I also wouldn't call it "skill based" movement, considering I had a right click bind on soldier that pretty much rocket jumped for me.
