This thread is to mainly address my activity the past bit, and why I was promoted to Division Manager.

I would first like to apologize to all my fellow staff members for my inactivity on the servers. Even though I told OhStop that I was taking a small break from TF2 I still feel bad that I wasn't there to help much, and instead I was off doing my own things. I had hit a slump for a bit there and found it hard to launch the game at times. Again, I know it's not the best excuse, but we all have those times.
 
Now to address my activity on forums, which isn't much better. My activity on forums isn't the greatest compared to some of our other staff members. I tend to voice my opinion more on Teamspeak, and don't post much on here. There's no excuse for how much I'm not on here, but it's not like I haven't shown my presence when it comes to major issues in the community. @kbraszzz, @Ohstopyou, @metalslug53, and @Rejects have all heard me rant for hours about topics, and they all know I can be stubborn.
 
OhStop explained to me that I was promoted to DM because it would be easier for me. The idea is that I will focus on the forums while Merc (@Fiery8022) will focus on the servers. Merc will be there to help all the admins, mods, members/players if they need it, and I will keep up on closing member submissions, or updating old threads if I need to. If I can't get on the forums one day, then Merc can always do this as well. Just like if a staff member needs help, and Merc can't help them, then I can step in. This system just makes it easier on all of the higher ups for TF2.
 
The only time I won't be able to hop on forums is if I have a lot of work to do for school, I'm sick and need bed rest (Like, I can't look at my computer sick), or I have real life things that I need to go to and can't make it to a computer. Other than that you can definitely contact me at any time on forums/steam after 7p.m. est, any time before that I may be busy, but I'll try to respond.

just saying should probly ban him for ya know a day week month then go to a perm if he keeps it up not warn him once and then go right to perm ban when hes what it seems like only been muted so far as a punishment.

What I heard from OhStop is that you began to keep swinging your pan a bit slower. Then OhStop told you that you had to stop that as well, you complained and argued, and then boom you was banned dawg. So, idk what truly went on, but good luck.

Alright, this is going to be a longgg explanation. I'll just start from the beginning so that everyone can have a refresh on what has been/is going on.
 
This all started six months ago, back in July/August, when I had been getting more active on Jailbreak. Rules were changed, new plugins were added, etc. Normally this wouldn't be a problem for people because I don't grill everyone for not knowing the rules/changes, and I give people time to acclimate or learn them. Since work had begun on the servers (and even before that if you check source comms), Sirflash has been nothing but a nuisance, troll, and instigator. Over the past six months he has consistently fought with staff (myself included), tried to loophole rules, trash talked other players, and numerous other things. That was, until around 2-3 months ago, when I gave him an ultimatum. I told him, and I quote:
 
"If I ever catch you loopholing, fighting with staff about anything, trolling, instigating arguments, or anything that would be detrimental to our playerbase or servers, YOU WILL BE BANNED FOREVER."

Nearly every single staff member that has played on Jailbreak has reported having a problem with him. You can see that he has had a mute or gag nearly every single week for the past SIX MONTHS:
 

 
I have even had to come on the server numerous times to solve disputes between him and my staff. So, enough is enough. I have been overly gentle with you for the longest time. I have asked you easily over 100 times to stop acting like a child and just play the game, yet here we are, three months later, and you still continue to fight with staff and loophole rules. I have had enough of the constant fighting, and I will not tolerate it anymore. -1
 
I'm going to be tagging staff and ex-staff that have had to deal with him in the past. It's justifiable. You are a constant hassle on our servers and you loophole the absolute shit out of everything. You have shown us time and time again you do not have the level of maturity to play on our servers. -1 for unban from me.

Ok so heres how it went
So i was swing my pan as scout and i didnt even swing it 15 times and then Avenger, who was warden told me to stop pan spaming so then i swung it like once more right after he said it, not on purpose though. So then like 5 seconds later I swung it, only once. OhStopYou then shoots me so then say "swinging it once is not spamming" so then he said "you are just swinging it slower" so then i said "swinging it once is not spamming" so he then says "you are loopholeing so hard right now" which he then says "my name is OhStopYou, so just stop". I then say "so then stop complaining" which i followed up with "*Lenny*/", exactly that. Then he said "I'm done" then banned me. I do not believe that, that is a justifiable reason for a permament ban. And so do Caleb956, ^xG^ Jänal, [xG|Rep]Swag

You gave solid proof of arguing with an admin in your Ban protest. I mean when I've gotten on to deal with issues You've had no issue going up to staff telling them they are doing their job wrong and so even before I was staff you've done this with other staff. Clearly you've gotten into some serious trouble with OhStopYou To attract the Attention of a DL.... The Admins Mods and So on even other members have put up with your constant disrespect for so long. Seems Ohstop finally had enough and now its being put to an end. Multiple staff members have admitted that you've given them issues. All the ones that have been on Jailbreak when you were on have had an issue with you. I'm going to admit You have played on the server a lot you took charge on the server. But when staff get on to handle a situation and you give them hell is not going well on your reputation every bit of hell you've given staff is going to go against you here. Truthfully, in my opinion like I said before you admitted to it you have sealed your own fate for arguing with a DL. Not a mod, nor admin. You gave solid proof of arguing with a DL. -1 For unban.

.. It's only easy to obtain "membership" because Division Managers aren't putting their foot down on what is considered a valid vouch as opposed to a "this is the first thing I could come up with to support my +1 even though it has no specific relevance to this particular person and is a very general statement." If you want change, it begins with the Higher-Ups imposing a stricter policy on Member Submissions, as it already should be.
 
Take a look at our Membership Submission Guidelines and you'll notice a handful of things that go unheeded. However, I don't want to put the blame solely on Higher-Ups simply because Members have to do their part in compiling a meaningful vouch that actually pertains to each individual in some way. At this point, it feels like those accepting new applicants are just skimming through and counting the +1s that a particular applicant has before slapping on the "Congratulations, you were able to get into our exclusive clan". Mind you this only applies to those select few and is merely an opinion with no evidence or the like. In the end, the Division Managers/Leaders are the ones who decide who gets in for their respective Divisions. If you have beef with people who are getting into the clan that are immature, then confront your respective Manager/Leader and give them the business. Hell, you have Member Submissions to pull valid evidence from for vouches that were invalid if you need "proof" that they shouldn't even be a Member.
 
It can be just as difficult to get membership as it can be to face (legitimate) expulsion from the clan. Honestly, if you have to go out of your way to actively seek out proof or evidence against someone every day and can't find any, then chances are that this is actually some personal vendetta you have against that individual. If the offending person is as toxic or as obnoxious as someone claims them to be, then it should be an easy task to get evidence. Kicking someone from the clan for no reason other than "we don't like him/her" is by no means a legitimate reason or justified solution and shouldn't even be considered.
 

 
This is a prime example of someone hung up on their personal vendetta against someone. If you (in general) were to look back at Matsi's protest thread and were to wade through all of the hate and anger, you'll find very valid points that were made to support him. That thread was the first major thread to address his behaviour, and as such the only logical solution would be to issue a publicly stated warning, a cease and desist notice for a lack of better words. Anything further would just be unfair and not justified in the least.
 
Those of you who keep shouting "we aren't being listened to" don't seem to get it; you're blinded by your own values and desires. You're looking through an opaque glass that focuses solely on results as opposed to listening to rationality. Your opinions didn't go unheeded, but just because there is a large group of people against someone, that doesn't mean their condemnations outweigh the right thing to do. Obviously your sheer outrage has been noticed and has resulted in a strike against Matsi's standing, meaning that the next time he is out of turn he will receive a punishment. Isn't that progress? Does that not mean that you were heard? No, instead, in your eyes it just means that because he wasn't out right banned or faced expulsion from the clan, the Higher-Ups didn't listen to you and therefore you aren't entitled to an opinion. Not everything you say or do will result in immediate action, and this applies everywhere. This is why we [should] have level-headed Higher-Ups who try their best to appeal to both sides of an argument. They consider both sides of the argument and determine the best outcome that is fair and just.
 
It isn't easy being someone with that kind of power and responsibility, seriously. As a retired Co-Leader I can attest to that.

If you want to directly reply to this post, just shoot me a PM or something and I'll be glad to discuss it. Hell, even open up a new thread and discuss it there, that would be fine. I just implore you to not do it here so that this whole "Age Requirement" thing can be discussed properly :coffee:

I mean we definately want to make sure the age limit stays somewhere 13+ and never go lower but lowering the age limit shouldn't make it easy. Which is why I agree that we need to take member apps more seriously, I admit sometimes I don't, and only +1 if we actually know the person. Most of the time people just plus one but don't give a decent opinion of the person. That's what membership should be based off. We want mature people, activity is nice as well, but ratings don't really show anything to other people. For all I know those ratings are from people that have seen the person once on a server.
 
For member protests we may need an easier way to remove someone. We need to also make sure that this way can't be abused. Maybe for a member to be removed you would need a statement from a CL, if it's an issue on the forums, or a DM if it's an issue on the servers. This statement being that they have witnessed the issues leading up to the protest. Otherwise we might have people trying to spread lies and take out members they don't like based on their own issues. CLs/DMs should be trustworthy sources for this...I mean, I hope they are. D: (After reading this part again I realize that this idea is absurd, but it's all I could think of at the time)
 
Or we keep member protests as is and just get the evidence needed. If they are as bad as you say they are then it shouldn't be hard. You could also just tell a DM about what you witnessed and they can keep their eyes open.

First and foremost, I do not condone this thread at all. My major reason for that is that almost every single person posting in here giving a +1 has instigated so many different issues with matsi and in fact almost all the instances you use as proof (not counting the countdown thread by vector) are all started by you guys posting something derogatory, demeaning, rude, and just plain un-necessary towards matsi. Exhibit A:
 
Phoenix made a moderator submission, matsi simply posted a quote of the appropriately deemed requirements to create one and said that it should be closed due to not meeting the requirements, instantly owl, vector, and various other staff members of CS:GO posted rude and hateful things basically telling matsi to fuck off. Meanwhile you turn around to Diversion's mod submission and owl posts that and demands a close and literally throws a hissy fit about when I re-open it even going to the point of insulting my ability as a DM.
 
Secondly, just going to get this out of the way before I forget it, but this is a semi-unrelated note: Snackbar, you're a great guy and all but you need to chill the fuck out. You're doing great trying to help and all and it really is appreciated by me, but you're taking things too fast. You banned him on teamspeak "for shits and giggles all in good fun" you don't do that to someone unless you are good friends with them. You push all these rule changes that are discussed by you and 2 others that agree with you at 3am in teamspeak, with no regard for a discussion prior to making it official without messaging the rest of the higher ups in the division as well as those rules push away from the unified set of rules that we tried very hard to make happen. yes game specific rules will be division specific but now you are making a steam name global rule a division specific thing, going so far as to try and control what people make their steam name "must be a name you are easily recognized as such as your forum name or a name you frequently use" if I decide I wanted to go by AlphaOmega tonight nobody would recognize me at first, as well as if asked I would present my forum name. Next, there is a blatant exclusion of communication the very opposite is happening in regards to that which @Rhododendron was all for trying to eliminate and then he too becomes guilty of his old habit of talking to one person about something and making a change: I have not once been messaged by snackbar with who he wants to promote/demote since he was given the opportunity as DM, nor has he responded to my private message I made with him and bleed specifically for discussing between us promo demo and other future changes we would be considering doing (obviously they would then be brought into a discussion on the csgo forums). even now going so far as to post promo/demo at 3am because he wants to do it when it is a CL job, and he creates his own promo/demo without consult. the reason it is a CL job is because they can then cross check it. when you post it, there is no going back on it. while I agree the whole set of CS:GO staff right now is good at their job, I can tell you for a god damn fact a couple people got promoted because they are your friends while you wouldnt consider some others because you aren't friends and always talking even though they are just as deserving of staff.
 
Third, there was supposedly a discussion between tf2 higher ups, csgo higher ups, and silence. I was not included so it clearly did not include all csgo higher ups, bleed probably wasnt, and since when do we banish someone from a division? no. if you really dont like the guy, just fucking ignore him.
 
Beastiality is not a federal law, it may be a state law, but we have to go by federal since that is the do all tell all for anyone in the US as a US based community if you want to bring "felonies" into it. tarin sexually idolized and sent dick pics to a 14 year old boy which has been presented proof of, that is a federal felony. Beastiality is not a felony according to federal law, and as such could not be used. infact if you wanted to use some state laws, there are some that limit what you can and cannot have sex with, as stated by matsi florida it has to be bigger than a porcupine. No he should not be saying these things in public but it is his life and his sexual interests, they dont do anything to you, I could see a abuse report for conduct unbecoming of a staff member as that is immature and not the "better" thing to be doing, and I would gladly give a + 1 to that, but a removal of member? no. wanting him to be permanently banned? absolutely not.
 
Don't get me wrong, I am not friends with the guy, even if I was like with the vector case, I fought for iggy too and I am not afraid to turn around and ban a friend when they fuck up. See: rabid and vector having numerous bans from me. forum and game and teamspeak. But if you want to do something to this scale then there better be a legitimate reason, which is why when snackbar said he was thinking about posting one I told him I would give it a - 1 and that I believed it would be incorrect to post in the first place for some of the reasons listed above. after you get time to read over this and simmer, I will post a follow up to any questions/legitimate posts in response to this.
 
I will also be closing the "Companion Thread" as this is not a "majority vote" kind of thing, this is a CL decision and they will make it by going over all the statements and evidence provided in the thread, I will not be deleting that thread like I should until after the resolution of this issue is met, If you cannot give a reason to your vouch, then you shouldn't be posting it anyway, as well as periodically as I fade in and out of being home because of my life and shit, I will be going through this and deleting useless/stupid posts. please refrain from posting multiple times because you are debating with multiple people as well as try to be as clear as possible in your posts.
 
just to re-iterate, snackbar you need to chill out a bit and take a step back. everyone posting needs to make legitimate posts legitimately debating and give a reason behind a vouch. if you want to use laws as a form of back up, use federal and not state laws. and everyone should probably take a day away from this thread before they post anything else to give time for their minds to settle, psychologically you guys are too into the hype of a new thread getting so big and everyone should chill out.
