  1. I don't know where to start with this thread, nor if it even matters at all, but I still feel i should make it. Sure, i'm pretty much a no-name here in xG, and I've made myself a stranger here more than anything, and that's fine. This thread is mostly here to explain to those who know me on a bit more of a personal level, and to give an explanation of what's going on with me to them and anyone else who is curious.

I'm in a weird spot in life right now, a bit dazed if you can call it that. I try to bring myself to play some good ol' Team Fortress 2, but even then when I bring myself up to play it, the most I play is a couple rounds of some Casual, and I don't spend enough time as I should on any xG servers. I've been trying to get back into TF2, and it's been working slowly so far, but not enough to bring me back into any social groups. I've probably confused anyone reading this, and like I mentioned before, I don't think i'm well known enough for this thread to make that great a difference so I'll end it with this.

I'm going to be on a hiatus, and I don't know when i'll be coming back, if at all.

  2. @Forest

Silence and I had a ton of discussions about this aspect, and we did come to the conclusion after looking at other communities that our bar for membership was too high in the beginning. We did not want our community to be like "the old boys club" where if you don't know the right people or don't talk enough in servers you can't get in.

We still value input from our members, but we do not want the reasoning of someone not standing out enough to be the reason they do not get into xG, and to find another community that accepts them with open arms. I know there's pros + cons to either way, but we feel this way has more pros than cons as it's easier to get rid of bad members, than it is to bring in quality members who might be shy. As virr mentioned as well, people will still need to be standout members to get staff, and also we will provide way more giveaways + events to glorify the members who are active in our community. Once our traffic is much higher in our community, and people are applying at a much higher rate, I'm sure people will visit the forums more often to give vouches towards players as that'll be a good way for them to increase forum count to apply for mod if that is their goal. Considering all things being said, I think it'll be a net gain that we will realize within a few months, especially once summer hits. I never have any issues with discussion so no need to apologize.

I edited the membership guidelines thread again, Virr rewrote it to make it much simpler and cleaner and I forgot to edit the 2 day part in.

Does this mean TGH and Pokemon Trade will get increased player capacities once the population grows? With more people being active, it's becoming harder and harder to get on said servers. TGH especially is having a lot of 32/32 moments lately.

  3. I think 2000 hours and 3800 hours are very different. Thats just my opinion though.

I was mostly referring to how it's sketchy to have 3800 hours on TF2 in 5 or so years with 58 friends, even though I have far fewer hours in a much longer timeframe with a lot less friends. Unless I misread Vac then my apologies.

  4. My internet is bad but is not always laging. I play surf Combat, That is not a normal game. Is totally HARD to bhop with space if you have 180 ping.

Apart from that. i banned that guy at 3:24 Am. basically at night my ping is good (120 -115 Ping) because all my family members are sleeping.

    Second. I found something interesting.

I was watching Mike´s profile. then i saw Melolzcore in the comments section.

Them I Remember ..Did Nutty ban that guy before?

    Yes he Did!!

And guess what. he got ban for the same Situation "Silent aim"

Is a extremly rare Coincidence. i´m not saying he is Melolzcore. But he has 60 friends in steam ... well 58 without me and lemon , He has only 5 Comment in his profile. Too less for someone who plays 3800hours in tf2 also started playing tf2 in 2012.

Lol I been playing since like, 2010 or something and have 2000 hours with basically no friends.

  5. You are more than welcome to start those kinds of discussions in the proper sections on the forums, as the higherups always love to see feedback from our community. This thread is specifically meant for games outside our current divisions though!
Lol. Sorry @Aegean and are there any MMO divisions here on xG? If not, I would suggest trialing a Mabinogi division. I think it's a really good MMO, and one I personally enjoy, and it's a great game to play especially if you have friends to play it with.

    Information:

I want to join xG's staff because for the past few years I have been a part of this community, I have wanted nothing more than to help this community grow and flourish. I have a very very deep interest in being a bigger part of this absolutely wonderful TF2 community and I want to do more to help it grow and become even more awesome..

That's about all I have to say, a bit simple and maybe even generic, but I do genuinely mean it from the bottom of my heart~.

  7. I found xG through several friends of mine (one of which is now a former friend), them being Princess Twilight Sparkle, Zero, and (at the time) Frost Beard the Ice Hunter. Some of you may know frost as Doom, specifically referring to Bananashoes, can't remember his current name and I assume @Vector knew him as that as well.

I can only vaguely remember most of the details, but I just remember them inviting me to play on 24/7 Clocktown because i'm a massive zelda fangirl, and so I accepted. We would often come around and hang out on that server, and one night while i'm on my own, I found the (sadly now defunct) Rotation server. That near instantly became our go-to server, even though it was more than dead 98.7% of the time. @Goblins will remember~

I slowly fell in love with this community and wanted to be a little bit more involved in it, so about...oh, what was it, like, 4 something years after finding xG? I decided to go ahead and sign up for the forums, and have just wanted nothing more than to help this community grow and see it flourish. Heck, if it weren't for the teamspeak requirements for being a higher-up in general, I would have tried to sign up for mod freakin years ago.

Overall, XenoGamers is by far my absolute favorite TF2 community and i'm proud to call myself one~. xG for life.

  8. Although I myself am hyped for the (finally) updated Clocktown map, I won't lie and i'll agree with @OneGlovedMan on the point that Clocktown is extremely overplayed on TGH, especially considering the immense map variety that the server has.

I'm all for this map getting updated after what feels like (and maybe even is) years, but I do wish people would vote and play some of the other maps on the server.. Even if my say doesn't really count considering i'm always pubbing and never freaking on lol.

  9. @Barmithian @Forest

Thank you so much for the help and advice, i'll be honest with myself, i'm a filthy casual and have no place in ranked games. That being said, i only tried playing ranked to be able unlock those mastery chests for the chance to get the champion shards for blue essences because everyone i looked trying to figure out how to get chests, people said ranked matches so i went with what i could find.

+1 to @Barmithian and @Forest for being helpful and everything~.

to answer your question, yes. every game that has a very competitive ranked ladder comes with people who get very upset when they are losing. its just natural, it has nothing to do with the game specifically. people are like that in other games like overwatch and csgo. LoL just has a lot of people so you see it more often. you have to realize though that there are a ton of people who aren't crazily toxic as well. its a part of playing competitive team video games that you have to deal with teammates
In response to your answer @Barmithian, i kinda figured this was the case, but i was just caught off guard by the instant toxicity from my first ranked matches, and was concerned if this would end up being the norm or not, and figured if im gonna ask around, i may as well open a discussion on the forums for people to talk about/vent their concerns and make myself a little more useful in the xG community.

You can purchase Mystery Champion Shards from the ingame Store for IP and then break those down for Blue Essence. Figured it would save you some time and frustration. Pretty sure they're 1,500 IP each
I didn't know that this was a thing, thank you so much~

  10. So last night after finally getting my third Sona Mastery 7 shard, i was wondering how i get blue essences so i could complete the mastery..as it turns out, i need to play ranked matches to unlock mastery chests to get blue essences, so i think to myself "Alright, fine, ill just do a couple ranked games and see how it goes.".It was awful, i mean sure i have bad games all the time (Sona sup main) and i been on a losing streak lately, but HOLY HYLIA those two ranked matches were some of the most cancerous things i had ever witnessed! So now i'm here asking the XenoGamers community for their opinions on the whole matter.

The question is: Has the League of Legends ranked community always been this cancerous, or was it just another fault of having a bad match?
