  1. Frantic Factory doesn't make a difference to who is friendly, what are you talking about? There's fights always happening in the boxing ring, people killing each other on the main path. The only thing that Frantic encourages is rule-breaking and a nightmare for staff. I left multiple times when we changed to that map when I was a moderator because it made my day twice as stressful. I can butture you this: Frantic is not a fun map.

When I said "try-harding", I meant playing with intent to be competitive (like you would on 2Fort, for instance). Frantic is not a competitive map by any stretch. I agree that fighting occurs on every map, I wasn't denying that. It's a first-person shooter, after all. You don't have to be "friendly", but you can have just as much fun doing just that. I've seen people playing on both teams have fun fighting the featured bosses together, or just chilling and building Engi stuff in DK's house, to give a couple examples. Frantic can't be completely awful -- some people actually enjoy it, so there must be some good qualities in there! :)

xG removes maps based on if there are game-breaking glitches, encourages mass-rule breaking (etc), not if you don't like them. I don't like Clocktown - should we remove it? No, others like it. Minecraft Realms is a commonly played map and liked, there is no reason for its removal.

I never said my will was absolute. Flareon asked the xG community if certain maps should be removed, and I gave my personal views on the matter. I didn't impose my will upon others, I simply stated my opinion. I didn't think it necessary to enumerate the reasons that I dislike Minecraft maps, but if you still insist on an explanation, I'll give it. I'm not so self-centered as to think that they'll be removed just because I dislike them! Oh, and while you are correct in saying that broken maps are usually slated for removal, public perception of a map should also be taken into account. That's what this thread is about, after all. ;)

It's funny, your statements seem to contradict one another. On the one hand you say that Frantic should be removed because it's "not a fun map", implying your opinion is absolute; on the other hand you say that the Minecraft maps shouldn't be removed because of others' opinions, and declare my opinion invalid. Kind of ironic, (dare I say, hypocritical?) don't you think?

I suggest you think before you speak next time.

  2. Gonna get hate for this, but . . . -1.

Frantic Factory is aptly named, and I get that it's quite a pain in the rear when it comes to moderating the boxing arena, etc. However, it's one of the only maps I've come across that is nearly impossible to "try-hard" on. It's quite literally a party map, and while somewhat susceptible to rulebreakers, it's a welcome relief for people who'd rather not fight and just want to chill and have fun with everyone else on the server. It keeps things interesting.

I'll assume you're talking about Delfino Airstrip. Delfino Plaza is an entirely separate map, and while it's fun for some people it frustrates many others (plus it's totally broken, you can clip through walls and stuff. It's cool, but still broken). However, the Airstrip simply feels different from most maps, since it lacks significant cover and it's almost 50% water. This map appears to favor certain classes like the Sniper, Spy or Pyroshark, but (in my opinion) every map has qualities that make things easier or harder for certain classes. In that respect, this map is no less frustrating for some people than the popular Nimbus Land map is for others, where the tight corners and choke points favor tank classes like the Engineer, Heavy and Demoman at the expense of Spies, Scouts and other 125-hp lightweights.

On the other hand, I +1 the removal of all the Minecraft maps. They're fun to play in some respects, but overall I dread going there over Clock Town or something else. Honestly, I usually just switch to Pokémon Trade or Saxton Hale whenever a Minecraft map comes up.

  3. Fair enough. The "joke" was in poor taste and I understand your frustration. I shouldn't have assumed that my indifference to a friend imitating me would apply to other people. I thought you were still on the server and didn't mean to go behind your back -- if I had noticed you weren't there I never would have done it. But that's pure speculation at this point and I'm truly sorry for any hurt this may have caused. It wasn't intended as a mockery, but I realize it was taken as such.

As for "Bl4ck", I literally had no idea that was even a thing. Calling myself "Blak" on JB wasn't meant to impersonate or mock Cain, it was meant as another joke since Nichol (a random on the server) kept calling you Black. I was kinda hoping other people would rename themselves as other colors, but it never happened. Darn. XD

Anyway, sorry this caused such hurt and I hope it doesn't blow up in my face lol.

  4. Oh come on, really? It was just a joke. And I changed my name when you said you had a problem with it. I remember that you or KB or somebody joked on Teamspeak that you should get an impersonator while you were away at camp, and I took the joke further by changing my name. It wasn't meant as a staff impersonation -- everyone knew who I was. If you want to be hard-assed about it, yeah, I broke a rule. But it wasn't done with intent to harm your reputation or further my own in any way.

Geez, lighten up dude. It's just a game, after all. ;)

  5. So here's my thought. On the one hand, this guy says some abusive stuff in a fit of rage against a couple of rulebreakers. On the other hand, he's otherwise very friendly, active on Trade Gaming, and is usually a nice, responsible guy. I'm probably gonna get a lot of crap for this, but I think this guy should get another shot. +1

  6. May I repeat, not everyone on the server has access to slay.. And not always are there people on there who can..

I didn't say that everyone has access to slay. I just meant that the glitch allows the boss to see C&D troll campers and thus serves the same purpose as the slay command.

  7. So, I've found a little bug with barrel Pyro (but that is beside the point for this thread). It's the glitch where once killed as a Pyro your cosmetics can "haunt" anyone you are spectating. Now I've also found that anyone can see these cosmetics and its very useful for pointing out C&D camping spies. Now, I've wondered, would that be considered ghosting?

[Dearly sorry if I've placed this thread in the wrong place]

In answer to your question, I would consider this as ghosting. Whether it's a glitch or not is not the issue (@ChickenPanda). The point is that it reveals an active player's location without their consent. It's one thing if that player is Spy trolling, in which case this glitch is akin to using the 'slay' command and could be considered "helpful" for the time being. It's another if the player is strategically camping and ghosts are giving away their position.

Hope all that makes sense to everyone, I totally agree with @PyroBunny.

  8. It might improve in the next couple of days

Not a chance. Tea is kinda sticky and gets in the keyboard cracks everywhere. Speaking from experience here. RIP laptop. :C

@ChickenPanda @Ohstopyou you guys are great, find a good heavy ringer, none of these xG scrubs, and go 3-5 the dream.

If you guys are still looking for a substitute until Moosty gets back, try this guy. He's pretty fun to be around and a great Heavy to boot.

  9. Thank god, someone has common sense! It bugs me when people say "Spy over here!" (or something similar) and idk where the fudge they're talking about and get killed. If you're going to call out, please learn the terminology first. :)

    Information:

I've played on the xG servers for awhile now and I really enjoy hanging out with you guys. However, I've given it a lot of thought and I want to bury the hatchet with some of you and take a more active role in serving and improving the xG community. While I understand that I don't meet the donation requirement, that doesn't mean that I can't be a good moderator. I try to maintain a laid-back attitude and defuse arguments or tense situations in order to maintain a fun, casual environment. I take my responsibilities seriously and strive to keep xG as the warm, welcoming, fun-loving community that we aspire to be. :)

  11. I feel like I'm necroing this subfolder, but whatever ...

I have several items for sale:

    • [strange] Specialized Killstreak (TS) Grenade Launcher w/ Strange Part: Buildings Destroyed
    • Cow Mangler 5000 Strangifier
    • War Pig (soldier hat)
    • The Filamental (pyro hat)
    • Brooklyn Booties (scout misc)

All items are priced at backpack.tf value, with the exception of the grenade launcher. Make me an offer on that one (since backpack.tf doesn't factor killstreaks into item value).

    Thanks!

  12. Holy buttnuggets. It's possible he just impulsively said some things without meaning them, but odds are there's an underlying (real-life) problem here and we're going to see similar outbursts from him in the future. Three strikes for bad news:

    1) Threatening with physical or emotional abuse (0:47);

    2) Causing others on the server to feel uncomfortable (0:52, 2:28);

    3) Justifying your actions (2:18)

The evidence speaks for itself. +1 for permban.

  13. I guess some people might lean in favor of Kart because he's cool and Vector sometimes comes off as an asshole (but he's the good kind of asshole ;)). Back when Vector was an admin, he was a major stickler for the rules. Not as extreme as Kypari, but he knew what was expected and made sure others followed the rules as well.

My guess? Vector and Kart had an agreement, and Vector made sure to remember the terms of the agreement and followed them to the letter. Kart went autistic and got hazy on the details (sorry Kart <3) and assumed that Vector would take about 20-ish%, as most brokers do. Then shit hit the fan. I'm just speculating here and I like both of you, but I think I know you two fairly well and so that's my guess as to what happened. It's not a bad thing, just a misunderstanding (but you really should have mentioned you were SteamRep-banned, Kart).

My two cents. +1Rep Vector (and Kart, too).

  14. A weeaboo is a stupid person who thinks that instead of being American or British, they think they are Japanese because they watch anime. They also think that Japan is the best country in the world because of Anime itself. Weeaboos think that the only good thing to watch these days are anime such as Naruto, Kill La kill, Bible Black, or some other anime wikipedia didn't tell me about. They also have lots of body pillows of anime characters from those weird websites on the internet. You can find alot more info based on these two videos.

If you're not sure if you're a weeaboo, here are a couple good ways to tell:

You Might Be a Weeaboo If... - Tofugu

    Shit Weeaboos Say

Random fun fact: the word "Weeaboo" was originally a 4Chan word filter substitute for "Wapanese", because they deemed it too offensive a word. "Weeaboo" literally has no meaning but somehow people think it does.

  15. There are pretty much 2 types of people in this clan.

    1. The overly sensitive people that cry and make ban threads when they get insulted or criticized in the slightest, but don't realize they in fact, instigated most fights they were in.

    2. The edgy people that like to offend others to be an "epic troll," and make fun of people for being losers, even though most of them are socially awkward or in fact, also losers.

basically you're all hypocrites and losers.

I would like to agree with you, but I don't think I fall under either category ... correct me if I'm wrong.

  16. The core team of a 6v6 crew is composed of 2 Scouts (or "Utilities"), 2 Soldiers (one "Pocket" and one "Roamer"), 1 Demo and 1 Medic. The Scouts are there to distract, hit the Medic or Demo, capture points or fill in as other classes (Pyro, Engi, Sniper, Spy) if the situation calls for it. The Roamer (usually Soldier, occasionally Sniper or Spy) flies around the map raining death on people, but usually aims to take out the enemy Medic or at least force him to pop his Uber early. The Pocket defends the Medic (sometimes switching to Heavy), the Demo dishes out mass damage and the Medic heals everybody. The Demo and Medic rarely switch classes long-term because they're so crucial to the team's success.

Spies aren't used much except to break a stalemate or to cripple the opposing team by taking out a key player (usually a Medic or Demo, sometimes a Heavy or Sniper). Sorrieeee :c
