  1. Hey, so, remember how this was an application for a Moderator position on a Gaming Community Forum?.. Yeah, me neither.
  2. ... :coffee: ... Fuq u No thanks. I don't want any part of that. I don't stick my wood in crazy, not after the last time. As Hiding said; Besides, it's hard to please you people :Old Man:
  3. While this looks good on paper, you and I both know that rules and guidelines may differ heavily from Division to Division. Staff will most likely be unfamiliar with the rules set in place on a different Division (I know I would going from CS:GO to TF2) and it could result in potential cases of "abuse" that Players might call out when it's just a mistake. The only exception which comes to mind that could make this work is if they were temporary Staff Members for CS:GO with minimal jurisdiction of only being able to punish blatant rule breakers such as those who mass freekill or freekill in general. But even then that's a risky move; simply because of placing a rank, so to speak, on a short leash. Things will get worse before they get better, but I honestly feel like it hasn't deteriorated to the point that this sort of drastic action needs to be taken. The Staff roster will increase eventually, but just keep in mind that @Chrono and @Bleed (correct me if I'm wrong) prefer quality over quantity, as should most Higher-Ups.
  4. Yeah, no, I'm aware of that dilemma. What I said really only applied to those who had the capability of doing so. For those who are running a terribad PC that can't run two separate games (IE. LoL and CS:GO) then they're obviously exempt. It was all just meant to be taken with a cup of tea, so to speak. If you (those in general) are able to, then it won't kill you to check it out real quick. It's only important that this happens sooner than later because of the short amount of Staff to answer the call. Obviously this won't happen as often in the future with more Staff members on hand, but in the mean time you sort of just have to make due. For the record, I apologize if I came off as a judgemental wad with what I said; just wanted to get the point across that Staff should try to make an effort to answer a call or request as that is what they got the position for.
  5. Matsi, you can have one or the other, but you can't have both. At one time you're claiming that there are people who shouldn't be Staff, or who don't deserve it; and at another time you're claiming that there isn't enough Staff and that more should be recruited as soon as possible. It's a vicious cycle, because if you want immediate Staff, chances are CS:GO Higher-Ups will be scrambling for people that might be responsible enough for that sort of role (they don't have enough time to ássess these applicants, or haven't had the chance to) and then when that particular Staff Member doesn't do their job well, you'll call them out on it. I get that you want to help out, but you're doing more damage than you think you are. Pressuring Staff into doing it isn't the right way to go, because as soon as you make a hobby a full-time job, people are less likely to enjoy doing it and are then less likely to show up, especially when they're doing it out of sheer.. Loyalty, for a lack of better words. With that said, I'm not saying they should neglect and shirk their duties in the slightest, just that you merely cut them some slack from time to time. Staff, I don't mean to demean y'all, but seriously, get your shiz together. You applied for the role because you wanted to better the Servers, so don't just shrug off a request for help. Busy (ássuming its with a game) or not, it literally takes you one or two minutes of your time to get on, issue a ban, and then leave. If you can't do just that, then why did you apply to be a Staff member in the first place. More Staff is definitely a good suggestion, just keep in mind that they have to be ássessed properly for the "job" at hand and the Higher-Ups shouldn't just let anyone in because of their relations with others (it does happen regardless, which is unfortunate, but is a whole 'nother matter). You're one of the more sensible players who will actually capture evidence against rule breakers, so just keep doing that (seriously, good job) when Staff can't be on. /end rant :coffee:
  6. Wasn't this always the case? Jeez Rhods, what were they Division Managers for if they couldn't even manage their divisions :coffee:
  7. Ehhhhhhh...... I'd say it's more like "It isn't rational to think we can be on 24/7 when we have other things going on in our lives besides moderating Servers for free" because it technically is expected that we all offer our souls to the greater good. You can always hop on here and throw a message up in ShoutBox where it'll most likely gather attention. Or you could jump on our TeamSpeak server as there are always numerous Staff Members on there (unfortunately there is a tendency for them to confine themselves to a community room that is locked more often than not). Last resort is to check out the SteamGroup page and post in the comments section.
  8. So, instead of telling him off in a thread that has no relevance to his behaviour, I would strongly suggest writing up a Member Protest. This isn't the time or place for that kind of discussion, we all know that. All that you're accomplishing right now is derailing the thread further by stoking this fire you two have going on, vice-versa with Matsi. Get your point across (which it looks like you have and are continuing to do) and leave it at that without involving his behaviour on top of it all. Though I have to say, I do question where this sense of authority is coming from in regards to Server related issues. Not to sound rude or anything, but Division Leaders are in charge of managing the Servers, Division Managers manage its players and the like, unless I'm mistaken and things have changed (again). It just feels like there's this sense of entitlement, which is understandable if you did have a hand in implementing the Server, but do keep in mind that a Division Leader's duties/responsibilities =/= a Division Manager's duties/responsibilities. Would also like to clarify that I'm just trying to contribute by suggesting ways to keep things clean. I am in no way trying to demean anyone, so I apologize in advance if it seems like I am. @Thread I honestly think the TF2 community should decide on what type of Surf Server this will be, as I have seen both types mentioned above. Just determine which kind is most favourable, and roll with that one. It'll save the hassle of fighting over what is correct and what isn't
  9. Try again. Dude, calm down. Why are you acting so aggressive over this, lol. The guy posted a suggestion/basis for a set of rules that he thought might help, and literally almost every reply to it has been filled with hostile comments. Seems like you're losing your temper, but correct me if I'm wrong. Just to remind those of you who think that Matsi's word is law and are assuming that this was a "final say in the matter, these are the rules now, deal with it." It obviously isn't some final draft, so calm your tits :coffee:
  10. Man, stop leading with this. You'll scare off the ones who return!

    Hi

Adventures of Lunk. It's dangerous to go alone, take this :salty:
  13. ^ What it comes down to is whether you want more players, or more donations. While it's a great idea to draw a larger crowd, it would kill whatever donations (if any) are made from players who want special commands. If anything, you could make something minimal, free just to draw attention; such as a limited selection of skins (say 1-3). Then just keep commands as a donator perk with the full arrangement of skins available (as an example). To be honest, it's all a gamble. It may attract more players, which could potentially mean more donators; but at the same time it is on a F2P game, and chances are a large portion of these players aren't interested in paying for anything. There are many variables to consider, but in the end it's really up to the Higher-Ups.
  14. Er, if it was so over-the-top, was something done about it? I can't vouch for anything as I wasn't there, but if the guy was blatantly using racial slurs and was warned, why wasn't he kicked/banned (assuming it got to that point) for the appropriate amount of time?
  15. The thing is that a Moderator is given that position for the Division they're active in, not the Server. Moderators aren't confined to one specific Server, if anything a problem only arises when a Moderator refuses to check on an issue in another Server just because they don't play on it. Although it's a good suggestion, the applications of it just seem too frivolous. With that said, don't be afraid to shout out any other suggestions or ideas you have in the form of a thread like this. Community input is always considered and appreciated!

  18. Want To Get Unbanned? Post any attempts here. There are other ways in which you can get unbanned as well, which you may find in that thread. To recap, there are several ways to get unbanned: 1. Donate 10$ to XenoGamers and post a picture of yourself in this thread holding a piece of paper that reads "I <3 XenoGamers" 2. Eat the specified size of pizza (or just a decently sized piece, no one will really call you out on it) in the thread while singing the "Mona Pizza" song. This would require a working microphone as well as camera to record it, then simply upload it to a place like YouTube and link it here. 3. Record a video of yourself (length of 1;30)dancing with the moves in the video provided from the thread and upload it to YouTube before linking it here. 4. Post a legitimate ban appeal admitting to your mistake(s) and prove to the community that you have learned from it, whether that be actively playing in game and demonstrating your knowledge of the rules or whatever. Good luck m8
  19. Twilight Princess One of my top favourite games of the series. Most of the allure comes from the art style. I absolutely loved the dark and gothic feel of the game as opposed to its WindWaker counter-part. The plot did seem a little cluttered, but I thoroughly enjoyed the game nonetheless. Another thing that contributed my love for the game was the overall epic nature of it. The final boss battle(s) with Ganondorf just reminded me of a remastered version of the final battle in Ocarina of Time with better instrumentals and gameplay; easily my favourite final boss battle out of the Legend of Zelda series. Incredibly epic. Super Smash Bros Melee This, along with my third choice, were games that really involved the "multiplayer" aspect of my childhood. Needless to say, I spent a substantial amount of my childhood playing Super Smash Bros on the N64, and when Melee came out I was overjoyed. It's just an overall great game, I mean where else can you brawl against friends with Nintendo characters? This was also my go-to brawler/fighter, with Soul Calibur coming in at a close second. Other: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Absolutely loved this game, and the reason I did was due in part to the multiplayer and replayability of the game itself. I spent a lot of time playing this game with my bros as well as with friends, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The whole "team player" aspect of it also drew me in as you did have to rely on your fellow companions a lot.
