Portal Gun Rules: The Portal Gun follows general rules of RDM. Do not use it to randomly kill people with no reasoning. Do not use it to escape the map boundaries at any point. KOS Rules: You cannot KOS others without a legitimate reason (unless you're a traitor), such as being shot or someone having a traitor weapon without being proven. Some non-legitimate reasons to KOS, and instead are potentially only suspicious, include but are not limited to the following: Refusing to test Scoping in with a sniper rifle Following people around Otherwise non-KOS-able but suspicious actions Potential future rules will be added to this thread when the need arises. The rules....and other stuff
YeEternalTuna posted a topic in TF2 DiscussionI don't even know where to start. So recently I've been seeing staff members enforce a rule that was removed ages ago (the ''no immature voice'' rule) and every time I've had to clarify that its no longer a rule (specifically on surf and a few others) I get told to either: (A) Make a thread on it or (B) Don't argue with staff (which is getting super aggravating). Then I get told that this is ''still a rule'' and that it just means ''don't be a moron on mic'' which is EXTREMELY VAGUE and doesn't help AT ALL with that argument. They also just point me to the ''No voice changers or tts programs'' rule but that makes no sense. Then there's also hypocrisy going on with staff where they'd punish you for being [saying something] ''disrespectful'' but then do it themselves. There are also a LOT of problems with the rules and the way staff portray and enforce the rules because theres a lot of ''up in the air rules'' and the rules themselves need to be fixed across ALL of the servers since its so unorganized and sometimes vague. P.S. Please make sure your staff actually read the rules before they try enforcing anything because from what i've seen the older staff just snowball a non-existing rule(s) into the new staff and it just gets out of control P.S.S. Can you PLEASE fix the ''Dont argue with staff'' rule because staff are using it to shut out people when they're in the wrong and they just make up excuses every single time they're called out for something wrong that they did because apparently criticism is now arguing with someone. ?
Freekilling for Credits
Dannypicacho posted a topic in CS:GO DiscussionAs you all know, one of the most fun commands when having lots of credits is to !bounty someone. Problem is, if you bounty a T, a CT might want to freekill them just for the credits. Usually they believe they can just pull off the "sorry i'll slay" but one slay is totally worth getting a lot of credits. Everytime I've seen someone freekill someone who had a large bounty I've successfully been able to get them to replace the bounty, but if it doesn't work, what do we do? There's no specific rules I can find for freekilling for credits and I'm guessing the punishments would vary depending on the size of the bounty. Can we please get some specific to-do's as staff so we know what to do if a person refuses to replace a bounty after a freekill? @Lithium @Bleed @virr @Aegean
sug.: "don't talk over people"
maf427 posted a topic in TF2 Discussionthis rule is absolutely and indubitably pathetic and retarded, especially when it occurs in a populous server (surf and tgh at this point). it disappoints me when everybody talks at once and many of staff go apepoop, and as time passes it gets crazier. it happens all of the time when a discussion is currently taking place. either everybody talking at once comes to the epiphany that they're all talking over each other and they all hesistate, which stops the talking, or the people will commence the talking, and in this case, it wreaks havoc. better to not have it as a server rule to give people more freedom while talking on the mic, which brings a more social and friendly atmosphere, and to further shun the staff from having such a hard time with the ongoing issue. it occurs almost every single day i come on surf, but i'm not sure about tgh regarding the issue. a rule where people are not allowed to talk over each other only makes things worse. let them talk, regardless of the amount of people talking. i don't want to hear "don't talk over people" every minute, which not only pisses people off, but it also delays most of the conversations that the server has, this delay being (x) admin giving a poop and talking in (y) tone that talking over people is not allowed. imagine going to a huge party. you hear everybody around you talk, the music is loud, and everybody is having a fun time. you're hearing all of this noise, and if people are going to complain about people talking over each other, then maybe you should go outside. some others can view this controversial topic as a "lack of respect" for talking over somebody about to say something, but in a video game, latency exists, and it can't be compensated for when people are talking. this "lack of respect" can be intentional and non-intentional, and i'm sure the most of you guys can tell whether it was on purpose or completely on accident. otherwise, the victim is just being sarcastic. i understand that servers have their own rules and it's equivalent to going to a night club or any other local area with a myriad of people, but i've never been to any other server that enforces that rule, and if i see any reason being because the server is more unique that way, i'm going to cry.
Slurs Thread Redux
Jacklyn posted a topic in TF2 DiscussionAlright so I feel as though I should re-instate my opinions from my last thread in a more intelligible way. My thread was kind of a stinkpiece I admit, I was a bit pissed off at the time. I didn't really expect to influence any sort of big changes but I was aiming to at least get some people to see it from my perspective. I wanted to voice my opinion on it even though I knew that I would get a lot of hate, and I did get a lot of hate, which is fair but I thought I would explain myself since a lot of people think I'm for what I said. This time I'm going to move away from if Nigga really is a slur or not because really, it's besides the point. My big problem is with Xenogamers outlawing slurs in general. The fact that people sometimes use slurs in general or good terms and not in a malicious way is completely ignored and it just seems unreasonable to me. People usually don't get offended at slurs if they're used in a general sense. Another thing is that it's really your choice at the end of the day to be offended by slurs or not. I don't think it's a very good idea to support people having thin skin because they can't handle hearing these words, you're just supporting weakness by doing this. People have said to me that it's because xG wants to reach out to a broader, wider audience but xG does not appeal to a wide audience at all in my opinion. xG is full of Pokefurs, Furries and every kind of weirdo in between and that scares away people on the get go by itself. And as I stated in my thread before, when you start banning words you just give them more power. It's feeding into people's sensitivities in an attempt to seem politically correct, which I don't understand because xG is just full to the brim with degenerates of all shapes and sizes who probably wouldn't give a damn about anybody saying any type of slurs. It's the admins who are making it a big deal and I don't even think most of them care much about it personally. Why would you even want to harbor anyone who gets offended by words like Nigga? My other point I was trying to make in my last thread was that the staff in xG is just downright inconsistent, and that was probably the most agreed on point so I'm just going to talk about it a little more. Here's a recent example of some very inconsistent moderating on xG: Awhile ago there was this guy on one of the TF2 servers who was trying to make trouble by loop-holing the rules on Slurs by making their name things like "Fellow African American" and etc and maybe I could have tolerated the Admin who was on ignoring it, but he was also spouting anti-semitic things like "The holocaust never happened" and "Hitler did nothing wrong" and he was going at it for a good ten to twenty minutes and the admin didn't even do anything about it. Even when I tried pointing them to the admin they just ignored it and didn't even issue any warnings to the specific person. It's not that I was offended by what they were saying but I felt like I was being cheated by the staff because this guy could get away with this scot-free but I got muted for 30 minutes for saying "I can't believe Nigga is still considered a slur here"? It seemed very unfair to me. There's inconsistencies in other rules too, it really just depends on what admin is on and what they think is bad to them. Like for instance, I used to use /bonkme -1 to do things like get out of taunts and I got away with it for a veeeeeery loooooong time without any admins saying anything about it until all of a sudden I was getting threatened to be banned for it by someone, Which just confused the fuck out of me because it was so normal to me that it had become habit. Another one is using putting teleporters in the skybox, it just depends what admin is on, some will tell you not to do it and some wont. I could probably go into more inconsistent rules but you get the point. Like I said, I don't expect this to change anything really because I already know most of you disagree with me on principle already and/or hate me for what I've said or done in the past but I really do evaluate what you guys say to me and I'm not planning on breaking the rules. Thanks.
The objector issue
Bone posted a topic in TF2 DiscussionI apologize in advance to any higher ups if I'm out of line making this thread So, what am I talking about? Why, none other than Conscientious Objectors. I've noticed there's no written rule about Objectors containing inappropriate content, much like our Spray rule, and this is a problem. Hell, I don't even know if such a rule exists, but it sure needs to. Nothing like having a moving porn spray whacking you in the back of the head on a map, . But having a rule in place for such a thing isn't the only reason I've made this thread. The real issue is having Staff members enforce a rule regarding nudity/derogatory content in sprays whilst having an Objector equipped with something equally as bad or even worse. Lemme run a scenario by you. A player joins and uses his spray. Perhaps it's a bit too revealing and it breaks our rules. A Staff member warns him about it and removes the spray. A while passes and that same player notices that the Staff member's currently equipped Objector contains the same damn thing. Why, that'd be embarrassing, wouldn't it? Hypocrisy among our Staff members, why never! Well, it happens quite a bit... More often than you'd want it to. "But Bone" you may be saying "It's just a little bit of nudity/lewd content. Don't be such a baby!" That's not the point. It's the principle of it. Even if there's no rule on it currently, Staff shouldn't be trying to circumvent the spray rule by putting it on a sign instead. We're supposed to be enforcing rules, not showing people how they can get around them. TL;DR: There needs to be a rule in place on Objector content/Staff shouldn't use Objectors to display imagery that wouldn't be allowed as a spray Tagging ALL TF2 staff members whether they like it or not for a potential discussion: @Basquiat @Vexx @mrnutty12 @Sesh @Vector @BonfireCentipede @Vacindak @Vargas @Elcark @ThunderLimes @YeEternalTuna @Kypari @Floppy @Parasect @LemonVolt @TheSupremePatriot @Ms.Spooks @Moosty @sick41057 @NitNat @Natsu @Blizzard @Hibiki @Spoopy @Amylicious @Thunder @Frusty

About Jailbreak Servers
Suiperblade posted a topic in TF2 Discussionis it me or we have a serious lack of Staff/mod/admin on jailbreak half the time? it's getting ridicule specially when blu do nothing but breaking rules, i got a few exemple of what happen to the red when no mod was on warden and blu freekilling and freehitting no mic on armory re-enter more than once doesn't give freeday when they mess up (like opening door without removing ff when cell wars) abusing melee warday and/or hide and seek when it freeday giving incell order when the rules say that they can't donator abusing their power never take warden opening cells door before warden give order (well this one happen even with mod on) and a lot more It's sad because all it does is giving motivation to the red at rebelling (even if that's point of red) and it's just not fun at all and it end up people gettting call salty for it.
