Good news again, thanks to @Lithium and @Bleed, being a part of our steam group will be rewarded with additional credits.
Staff members will also recieve a credit-boost.

What? Why would you have a discord server when you have a teamspeak server with so many rooms??????

a TF2 surf discord makes no sense when there is a whole set of channels just for TF2 along with people from TF2's community channels. There have been many times when I see a channel with about 15 TF2 members playing whatever. Making a seperate discord separate from the official xG one makes this less of a community and separates the divisions. Teamspeak is just as easy to use. The only reason that people use discord over TS is because you dont have to pay for a server, but ours is already paid for by Silence and has tons of benefits that making a discord wouldn't bring. All that is gonna do is just segregate the community which isn't going to help grow this community. If you complain that people aren't on how about you ask them? TS is just as easy to download and set up as discord. To me IMHO it makes no sense to make a discord.

Just as a suggestion [and this is only valid if you haven't done-so], and not to shut you down or anything, but you may want to get the 'go-ahead' from Higher-Ups before establishing something that is affiliated with Xeno Gamers (or is otherwise 'sponsored' by Xeno Gamers). I can't/won't speak for the Higher-Ups, but not only could it negatively impact activity on our Team Speak servers (something that dem Higher-Ups have been trying to remedy for quite some time) but Silence seems (correct me if I'm wrong) pretty adamant that a Xeno Gamers Discord Server will/should not be made and this directly goes against his statement which really ought to be considered.
 
Same suggestion goes out to anyone else who may consider creating an external connection to Xeno Gamers without permission; keep in mind that we shouldn't just slap "Xeno Gamers" on something and proclaim it as official without at least receiving an opinion or go-ahead from the Higher-Ups. I'm not too familiar with any legalities or anything, but should something happen revolving around whatever that 'external connection' may be, it could negatively influence the clan or something along those lines. Just my 2 cents and again, just a suggestion :coffee:

Discord is for children who can't use teamspeak, similar to Skype but less popular and possibly less reliable in many ways

discord is literally only used because a. its free and easy to setup for anyone and b. the chat room feature
 
the free/easy part is completely nullified by the fact that we have a 512 slot ts server free for anyone to use, with plenty of rooms where youll be left alone

What if, xG also had a Discord server as well as a TS server?
I think this might be a good idea, because some people might prefer discord over TS.

I got my name back when the Wii was a new thing, I made a throwaway Mii to test out the system fully intending to make a better suited one, I had one of those tubs of mixed nuts and was feeling particularly uncreative. Time passed and I still used the throwaway. Fast forward to when I needed an email for something (I forget what) and I used the mrnutty12 name because the one I had wanted was already taken. From there mrnutty12 just became my default name for anything to this day.

i still have over 20 hours, seeing all the lowkey active people makes me think.
 
 
i have an idea, we could change the activity requirement to 15 hours per 2 weeks (= approx 1 hour a day which is fair in my opinion).
if we do that we should call in a staff meeting and let everybody know about these changes and ask them if they even still wanna be staff.
once that is done, we could be more strict on people who do not meet the time limit (i.e being more strict on demoting them since 15 hours is a really fair amount that anybody should be able to reach).
i do not agree with promoting dethman, pyro etc right ahead, at least ask them if they have a good reason to be inactive.
just some sort of idea that has been stuck in my mind for weeks.
also @mrnutty12, great post i bet you put a lot of effort into that. keep up the great work / contributions. :^)

I understand being busy, I mean I have 3 college classes worth of homework as well as marching band and extra drumline practices which owns up a good 3/5 days in a school week + a weekend job. However, I still manage to get over 20 hours ingame on a biweekly basis. I do know Blank sits in TS a lot, so I give him a pass, I am aware of timezone difficulties for Egossi/Bello, and I did make note of Jon's reasons for not having any in the list. Overall, I think armin/blank/egossi are close enough to give leeway but the rest need some sort of communication.

First, ask em what up and if they are actually going to do their job as per the minimum. Anything less than a solid yes (excluding something like Jon's case that they failed to communicate) and a reason why they haven't done anything would get a vote for demotion from me.

@mrnutty12 Vexx currently has 32.6 hours within the past two weeks on TF2.
 
I can see what you're saying. I would probably say a huge warning is advised to anyone that is under 20 hours in-game. Maybe have a mandatory meeting on TS to go over this since it's quite important. Basically I'm thinking that straight up asking who wants to be staff and who doesn't would be prime.
Although, as for the staff that are just barely under 20 hours, I'd like us all to keep in mind the activities (such as school), that our staff go through.
I've learned that Blank has no only school, but after school activities. He recently was forced into having a tutor.
Egossi has school, but the servers are usually dead by the time he'd get out.
Jon will be getting a computer soon as he messaged me about him still being staff about a couple days ago.
 
As for the staff that are barely active (Dethman, Hero, Lik, Pyrobunny, and Merc), I'd be down to demote them right away. I understand that there is activities in life that are more important that moderating the servers, but if they are truly busy, then they should either make a post notifying us about their inactivity, step down, or face demotion.

I mean, I always kinda felt like Toma would have done great as staff and I'd like to promote him again when we get the chance. But it makes me happy that they're doing so well.
