  1. Thank god, someone has common sense! It bugs me when people say "Spy over here!" (or something similar) and idk where the fudge they're talking about and get killed. If you're going to call out, please learn the terminology first. :)
  2. Division: Team Fortress 2 In-Game Name: Hero of Hyrule Steam ID: steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198081316610 Position: Moderator Time Active: I dunno ... 2 years, I think? Age: 21 Experience: Helped to moderate and maintain a couple other TF2 servers, now defunct. Information: I've played on the xG servers for awhile now and I really enjoy hanging out with you guys. However, I've given it a lot of thought and I want to bury the hatchet with some of you and take a more active role in serving and improving the xG community. While I understand that I don't meet the donation requirement, that doesn't mean that I can't be a good moderator. I try to maintain a laid-back attitude and defuse arguments or tense situations in order to maintain a fun, casual environment. I take my responsibilities seriously and strive to keep xG as the warm, welcoming, fun-loving community that we aspire to be. :)
  3. I feel like I'm necroing this subfolder, but whatever ... I have several items for sale: [strange] Specialized Killstreak (TS) Grenade Launcher w/ Strange Part: Buildings Destroyed Cow Mangler 5000 Strangifier War Pig (soldier hat) The Filamental (pyro hat) Brooklyn Booties (scout misc) All items are priced at backpack.tf value, with the exception of the grenade launcher. Make me an offer on that one (since backpack.tf doesn't factor killstreaks into item value). Thanks! ~Hero Send trade offers to: Steam Community View my backpack at: [xG] Hero of Hyrule's Backpack - backpack.tf
  4. Holy buttnuggets. It's possible he just impulsively said some things without meaning them, but odds are there's an underlying (real-life) problem here and we're going to see similar outbursts from him in the future. Three strikes for bad news: 1) Threatening with physical or emotional abuse (0:47); 2) Causing others on the server to feel uncomfortable (0:52, 2:28); 3) Justifying your actions (2:18) The evidence speaks for itself. +1 for permban.
  5. So he oversold buds to a random who was out of touch with the current market?
  6. I guess some people might lean in favor of Kart because he's cool and Vector sometimes comes off as an asshole (but he's the good kind of asshole ;)). Back when Vector was an admin, he was a major stickler for the rules. Not as extreme as Kypari, but he knew what was expected and made sure others followed the rules as well. My guess? Vector and Kart had an agreement, and Vector made sure to remember the terms of the agreement and followed them to the letter. Kart went autistic and got hazy on the details (sorry Kart <3) and assumed that Vector would take about 20-ish%, as most brokers do. Then shit hit the fan. I'm just speculating here and I like both of you, but I think I know you two fairly well and so that's my guess as to what happened. It's not a bad thing, just a misunderstanding (but you really should have mentioned you were SteamRep-banned, Kart). My two cents. +1Rep Vector (and Kart, too).
  7. I know, and I usually build my base far away from spawn. Only reason I mentioned that is because most combat occurs around spawn or in the PvP arena. So if the area near spawn is a giant ravine, PvP at spawn isn't going to be much fun for anyone (except for the noob hunters).
  8. Oh yeah, I totally get that. Of course, TNT is hella fun for raids, but just be aware that there will be trolls that are going to wreck the landscape with it. So after like a month it's going to be difficult to fight or build anything anywhere close to spawn. Option #1: Ban TNT and make raiding a bit more difficult Option #2: Keep TNT and have to reset the map in a month or three
  9. Nice. Since you're running MythicMobs, it might be fun to run EpicQuest alongside it. It'll gives players an option to embark on quests and defeat "boss" mobs and such, to make the Factions server more exciting. Basic quests can be the "fetch" quests like gathering 200 feathers or killing 100 players, while more advanced quests might include navigating a difficult maze or killing one of the "boss" mobs. My longtime favorite Factions server recently closed down, but it had basic quests like the "kill 100 players" quest, and each time you completed a quest the next "level" of that quest would require more kills (500, 1000, etc.) and the rewards would be greater. Not sure if this "leveling" system of quests is included in EpicQuest, since I never got the name of the plugin they used. But anyhow, it depends on which direction you want to take the server. My two cents. Link to EpicQuest description/download: EpicQuest - Bukkit
  10. Well, it's mainly a Factions server, I'll go ahead and assume you know what that is. That's about all I know yet. I remember the old server but I haven't tried the new one just yet. Edit: Just realized how dumb this post is. Fudge it, forget I said anything.
  11. Lol why haven't we recruited Sprunk yet for Scout main? Xeno Gamers - Player Information
  12. Well then ... if I'm being replaced on Engi (lol), I'll take Demo main sub and Medic other sub. I can do both reasonably well.
  13. If you're not sure if you're a weeaboo, here are a couple good ways to tell: You Might Be a Weeaboo If... - Tofugu Shit Weeaboos Say Random fun fact: the word "Weeaboo" was originally a 4Chan word filter substitute for "Wapanese", because they deemed it too offensive a word. "Weeaboo" literally has no meaning but somehow people think it does.
  14. I would like to agree with you, but I don't think I fall under either category ... correct me if I'm wrong.
  15. The core team of a 6v6 crew is composed of 2 Scouts (or "Utilities"), 2 Soldiers (one "Pocket" and one "Roamer"), 1 Demo and 1 Medic. The Scouts are there to distract, hit the Medic or Demo, capture points or fill in as other classes (Pyro, Engi, Sniper, Spy) if the situation calls for it. The Roamer (usually Soldier, occasionally Sniper or Spy) flies around the map raining death on people, but usually aims to take out the enemy Medic or at least force him to pop his Uber early. The Pocket defends the Medic (sometimes switching to Heavy), the Demo dishes out mass damage and the Medic heals everybody. The Demo and Medic rarely switch classes long-term because they're so crucial to the team's success. Spies aren't used much except to break a stalemate or to cripple the opposing team by taking out a key player (usually a Medic or Demo, sometimes a Heavy or Sniper). Sorrieeee :c
  16. So I was scrimmaging with a 6v6 competitive team the other day and wondered why xG doesn't have a team for that too. We already compete in Highlander, but if we wanted to we could also have a 6v6 team. It doesn't require as many players per team as Highlander and gives other people a chance to compete. Of course, if anyone on the Highlander team wants to join in the fun, that's fine too. :D The 6v6 season begins June 3 and games are held on Wednesdays, so they wouldn't conflict with our Highlander matches. 17. Eirin, or whatever its name is, is supposed to be a walking error sign. Lol. Miku is the only decent weeaboo Hale. The music is really annoying but mechanically she's actually kinda fun to play against. +1 for removing the other weeaboo Hales, though.
  18. Pyros have always been an issue for the Hidden, always. The mod's creators tried to balance things out by nerfing the Pyro's HP, but it still doesn't stop a squad of them from stalling you out. +1 for class limit on Pyros.
  19. Well, that's 10 vouches I see :) @kbraszzz @metalslug53 @Moosty @Ohstopyou @Rejects
  20. Haha Spies are underrated and underestimated in 6v6. They can pick the Combo and Sniper really well, and can call enemy uber % (which is incredibly useful for the team Medic to know). That's about it, though. It's not an essential class, but it's very helpful to have one around if the situation calls for it.

  22. Hey all, I'm helping to assemble a 6v6 team. If you don't know what that is, read: Standard competitive format - Official TF2 Wiki | Official Team Fortress Wiki We have enough Scouts and Soldiers at the moment, but we're currently looking for Demomen and a backup Medic. We are playing in the United Gaming Clans (UGC) league, Iron division. If you are interested in joining, add me on Steam (see below) and I'll give particulars and get you in touch with the team leader. Thanks! 23. Seems to me like it turned into a rage war between Insane and Dethman. 6v6. You never play Engi unless you're a Utility and having a helluva time defending the final point. I'm a bit torn on this topic, because I play both Engi and Spy (but mostly Engi). Anyway, let's compare the two classes: Engineers are pretty versatile. They have the minigun of a Heavy, rockets of a Soldier, healing of a Medic, and area denial of a Demo. They can also spycheck like a Pyro, block enemy projectiles and Teleport allies to the front lines of battle. Unfortunately for them, Engies have a much smaller weapon pool than Spies and suffer from having only two basic options: either camp it out or go Gunslinger and jump into the fray. Spies are equally versatile, being able to headshot like a Sniper, pick targets like a Scout, and endure like a Heavy, plus they can reliably kill Engi buildings AND trick their opponents into paranoia. Dudes can turn completely invisible, trickstab for a 1HKO, seamlessly disguise as another player, and even suck the life right out of their opponent. Unlike Engies, Spies have many viable playstyles, and almost every weapon in their arsenal is useful in a variety of situations. Tl;dr: Spies are epic masters of espionage who can be played many different ways. Engies . . . hit buildings with a wrench. In a first-person shooter. I am an Engineer. I stand with the Spies. #spiesneverdie #savethespycrabs Edit: I think I'll get my first ever negative vote from this post. Calling it now. Edit: I think I killed the thread haha
